The object of research is the element base of devices of control and automation systems, including in its composition annular elastic sensitive elements, methods of their modeling, calculation algorithms and software complexes for automation of their design processes. The article is devoted to the development of the computer-aided design system of elastic sensitive elements used in weight- and force-measuring automation devices. Based on the mathematical modeling of deformation processes in a solid, as well as the results of static and dynamic analysis, the calculation of elastic elements is given using the capabilities of modern software systems based on numerical simulation. In the course of the simulation, the model was a divided hexagonal grid of finite elements with a maximum size not exceeding 2.5 mm. The results of modal and dynamic analysis are presented in this article.

The advent of mobile interfaces induces an evolution on the Human computer Interaction (HCI) field. We observe the emergence of several mobile devices and sensors that gave birth to the ubiquitous environments. In our research, we focus on: (i) how to adapt the interface to its environment, specifically in its context of use and (ii) what relationship has the context with the users' task. This paper will propose a formal approach for specifying user interfaces adapted to the context of use. We will focus on the strength of formal approach to context and user's modeling and how to infer users' requirements through the model of the task for critical domains. Our approach will be illustrated by a case study on the monitoring of diabetic patients.

Face anti-spoofing is rapidly increasing in importance as facial recognition systems have become common in the financial and security fields. Among all kinds of attack, 3D high-fidelity masks are especially hard to defend. Recently, CASIA introduced a large scale dataset CASIA-SURF HiFiMask, which comprises of 54,600 videos recorded from 75 subjects with 225 high-fidelity masks. In this paper, we design a lightweight network with single patch input on the basis of CDCN++, and supervise it by focal loss. The proposed method achieves the Average Classification Error Rate (ACER) of 3.215 on the Protocol 3 of CASIA-SURF HiFiMask dataset and ranks the third best model in the Chalearn 3D High-Fidelity Mask Face Presentation Attack Detection Challenge at ICCV 2021.

We investigate a technique for obtaining the access time distribution for requests that access replicated data maintained by the distributed system. This paper presents an improvement to gesture reconstruction with a computer-writing tool based on an inertial principle. The computer-writing tool is modified with a complete, miniaturized, six degrees-of-freedom inertial measurement unit in order to reduce the error in the tool's orientation with respect to the reference coordinate system and, consequently, to reduce the error in the tool's tip position on the paper. The improvement is achieved by calibrating the inertial measurement unit using advanced modeling of the nonlinear voltage output of a triple-axis low-g MEMS accelerometer. The nonlinear accelerometer's model considers an interacting influence between the measuring axes of the arbitrarily oriented writing tool. With a combination of the attitude compensation and the zero-velocity compensation techniques the positional error of the tool's tip on the paper is reduced. (C) 2010 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

As model-driven development techniques grow in importance so do the capabilities and features of the tools that support them, especially tools that allow users to customize their modeling language. Superficially, many modeling tools seem to offer similar functionality, but under the surface there are important differences that can have an impact on tool builders and users depending on the tool architecture chosen. At present, however, there is no established conceptual framework for characterizing and comparing different tool architectures. In this paper we address this problem by first introducing a conceptual framework for capturing tool architectures, and then-using this framework-discuss the choices available to designers of tools. We then compare and contrast the main canonical architectures in use today.

Several optimization algorithms such as particle swarm or evolutionary algorithms are inspired by biological processes. For instance, the hunting dynamics of predator-prey scenarios have been identified to model dynamical optimization problems. Inspired by this, we develop an ideal electrical circuit in combination with a delay-coupled reservoir computer as a model for each animal in the scenario. This reservoir computer accounts for the visual processing of the animal, while an RLC circuit and an RL circuit model the calculation of the animal's velocity and its position, respectively. Here, the relative position of predator and prey is fed back into the reservoir computer. Simulation results for two environments with different terrain slopes show that this setup indeed mimics a predator chasing preys, where the choice of the hunted prey is strongly affected by the terrain.

computer games are very popular among several age groups. In this respect, they could be exploited to render educational content more motivating and attractive. Especially, adventure games have positive effects towards students due to their novel environment. Furthermore, adaptive educational games can offer a motivating environment reinforced with a personalised learning experience. However, there are only few educational adventure games that encompass adaptive features or their adaptivity is very limited. This paper describes an educational adventure game for learning computer programming. A student modelling component based on fuzzy logic is used to create a profile for every student and provide individualized help. The game incorporates many adaptive characteristics such as providing help through agents whenever needed. However, it's main feature is the ability to extend the scenario depending on the player's weaknesses. In this way, the game aims to motivate and engage the student by providing new screens and riddles and lengthening the total necessary time to finish it. A preliminary evaluation took place during a summer school organized by University of Piraeus and its results about the game were very encouraging.
