The hand gestures used in Human computer Interaction (HCI) are generally posed by complicated and large amplitude actions of arm/hand. Thus usable HCI instructions are few and HCI efficiency is low. This paper presents new hand shapes and the corresponding recognition system for the HCI with robot or Coordinate Measuring Machine. Using a touchpad to precept the touching of ringers, hand shapes posed to express HCI instructions are defined by the combinations of 2 binary status, i.e. status of touching/detaching on touchpad and status of stretching/retracting over touchpad, of Index, Middle, Ring and Little fingers. Method of extracting the features in hand shape image is presented. Based on Neural Network, a decision binary tree is used in the real-time recognition of the hand shapes. A correctness ratio of about 95% is obtained when implemented by DSP processor in the recognition of 12 hand shapes.

The consistency of the CIMS multi-view model is a complicated problem. It takes an important role in CIMS life cycle. Based on the Function-Oriented Multi-view modeling approach, we further provided an Object-Oriented Integrated Multi-View modeling approach. CIM system is composed of several objects linked in hierarchical control structure. The description of each object is a multi-view description. This paper presents a robust approach to performing facial pose estimation by examining the behavior of key facial features over a wide range of poses. Such methods are useful in intelligent vision systems for entertainment, human computer interaction, and security. In our approach, faces of varying pose are automatically detected, eyes and mouth are located and an active shape model is superimposed. A facial pose estimator is developed using predictor models based on the position, size, and symmetry of facial features. By modeling these predictors over pose positions with varying yaw and pitch, excellent results are obtained without the need for complex computationally intensive methods.

The integration of color management facilities into computer operating systems has led to increased consumer demand for on-line, or embedded, measurement and control capability of individual color displays. The embedded measurement device may be attached either to the monitor directly or to the host computer which drives the monitor. In this paper, we suggest a service-oriented architecture for planning and execution (SOA-PE) in large scale cyber-physical systems (CPS). SOA-PE provides a clean separation between domain modeling, planning, execution, monitoring and actuation services. This approach helps realize the system-of-systems paradigm allowing the decomposition of system goals into smaller subgoals, thus enhancing the scalability of the proposed solution. In addition to supporting large scale, autonomous systems, the service-oriented approach provides several benefits such as reusability, independent development and deployment, platform independence, transparency and flexibility, to the core services of Planning and Execution in these systems. The architecture targets decentralized, multi-agent systems for solutions like smart transportation and logistics and can scale to larger IoT use cases like smart cities. We illustrate the functionalities of the architecture through a prototype implementation and a case study from the logistics domain.
