The highly development of Mobile Cloud computing (MCC) expose many limitations and critical challenges to traditional host-centric IP networks. This paper presents the design of Software-Defined Service-Centric Networks (SD-SCN) to facilitate the networking requirement of MCC. SD-SCN provides a service-level abstraction of communication endhosts to enable name-based routing and explores recent emerging Software-Defined networking (SDN) concept to enable service-oriented customizable network management. We illustrate some significant benefits taken by SD-SCN to MCC.

Today's cross-organizational deliveries of high value and perishable goods are difficult to monitor in a reliable and trustful way. Every logistics organization operates its own track and trace system, usually in an isolated manner and with most being incompatible to each other. In order to provide better end-to-end insights and to speed-up conflict management processes, we propose to let all involved parties mutually confirm cross-organizational handovers of a parcel and to log the event immutably within a common distributed ledger. Smart sensors within or attached to parcels will in addition act as independent oracles to monitor environmental variables with respect to parcel-specific service level agreements. Violations of service level agreements will be trustfully detected and logged by the smart sensors directly on the distributed ledger, without potentially compromising legacy systems being involved. The proposed concept will serve as the base for future implementations and opens up new ways to analyze and optimize inter-organizational logistics.

Low-rate Denial of Service (LDoS) attack is a novel form of the denial-of-service attack. Consequently, there is something difficult to detect it by conventional attack detection techniques. BP neural network detects LDoS attacks is feasible because of its features such as high non-linear. However, it also has the defects such as poor global search ability. Bat algorithm that has the strong global search ability can make up those defects. We proposed a LDoS attack detection method that is on account of Bat Algorithm and BP Neural Network (BA-BNN). For the sake of making a verification on how valid our method is, a series of LDoS attack experiments were carried out in a virtual Software Defined Network (SDN) composed of Mininet emulator and Ryu controller, obtaining the TCP and UDP traffic data. We use the algorithm called random forest to select characteristics of training data for BP neural network ameliorated by an intelligent algorithm, Bat algorithm, and construct the LDoS attack detection model. We compare our method with some other methods. The results show that the method we adopt is a highly accurate LDoS attack detection method. It has higher correct rate and detection rate, and lower false negative rate and false positive rate.

This paper proposes a DNN-based distributed algorithm by deploying one DNN in each base station controller (BSC) to approximate the weighted minimum mean-square error (WMMSE) algorithm, which can allocate power in parallel. Maximizing the weighted sum-rate is a common problem setup for power allocation in a single-input single-output (SISO) interfering broadcast channel (IBC). The WMMSE algorithm is a suboptimal and classical solution but has high computational complexity. Recently, a DNN-based algorithm is proposed to speed up the power allocation by approximating the WMMSE algorithm. Motivated by these, a DNN-based distributed algorithm is proposed and the system with 7 cells and 56 users is setup. The experimental results show that centralized DNN with at least 7 layers can achieve the sum-rate performance of 95.02%, but distributed DNN with only 5 layers can achieve the sum-rate performance of 97.40%.

The large volume of data flowing throughout location-based social networks (LBSNs) provides an opportunity for human mobility behavior understanding and prediction. However, data quality issues (e.g., historical check-in POI missing, data sparsity) limit the effectiveness of existing LBSN-oriented studies, e.g., Point-of-Interest (POI) recommendation or prediction. Contrary to previous efforts in next POI recommendation or prediction, we focus on identifying the missing POI which the user has visited at a past specific time and proposed a multi-network Embedding (MNE) method. Specifically, the model jointly captures temporal cyclic effect, user preference and sequence transition influence in a unified way by embedding five relational information graphs into a shared dimensional space from both POI- and category-instance levels. The proposed model also incorporates region-level spatial proximity to explore geographical influence, and derives the ranking score list of candidates for missing POI identification. We conduct extensive experiments to evaluate the performance of our model on two real large-scale datasets, and the experimental results show its superiority over other competitors. Significantly, it also proves that the proposed model can be naturally transferred to general next POI recommendation and prediction tasks with competitive performances.

In edge computing scenarios, the computing service provider needs to be selected according to the edge server and network status. In the TCP/IP architecture, edge computing applications rely on centralized proxy servers to select an appropriate edge server, which leads to additional network overhead and increases system response latency. Compared with TCP/IP, Information-Centric networking(ICN) has more potential to provide efficient network support for edge computing, so we consider leveraging ICN facilitate edge computing. However, traditional ICN cannot be used directly in edge computing because the computing results are dynamically generated in edge computing. Therefore, we propose an edge computing service model based on ICN, which contains a new naming scheme, service session models and service request forwarding strategies. Our edge computing service model can forward computing requests to an appropriate edge server in a distributed way, which can provide real-time, dynamic and efficient edge computing services.

Derivatives are key to numerous science, engineering, and machine learning applications. While existing tools generate derivatives of programs in a single language, modern parallel applications combine a set of frameworks and languages to leverage available performance and function in an evolving hardware *** propose a scheme for differentiating arbitrary DAG-based parallelism that preserves scalability and efficiency, implemented into the LLVM-based Enzyme automatic differentiation framework. By integrating with a full-fledged compiler backend, Enzyme can differentiate numerous parallel frameworks and directly control code generation. Combined with its ability to differentiate any LLVM-based language, this flexibility permits Enzyme to leverage the compiler tool chain for parallel and differentiation-specific *** differentiate nine distinct versions of the LULESH and miniBUDE applications, written in different programming languages (C++, Julia) and parallel frameworks (OpenMP, MPI, RAJA, Julia tasks, ***), demonstrating similar scalability to the original program. On benchmarks with 64 threads or nodes, we find a differentiation overhead of 3.4 - 6.8× on C++ and 5.4 - 12.5× on Julia.

In this article, we provide a data framework for edge computing where developers can easily attain efficient data transfer between devices or users. We propose a distributed key-value storage platform for edge computing and its explicit data distribution management method. In this platform, edge servers organize the distributed key-value storage in a uniform namespace. To enable fast data access to a record in edge computing, the allocation strategy of the record and its cache on the edge servers is important. Our platform offers a distributed objects that can dynamically change home server and allocate cache objects following user defined rules. A rule is defined in a declarative manner and specifies where to place cache objects depending on the status of the target record and its associated records. We also integrate a push notification system usingWebSocket to immediately notify events on a specified table. We evaluate the performance of our system using a messaging service application between mobile appliances.

Mobile ad-hoc networks also known as MANETs have been in global use for numerous applications which are not possible with fixed network topologies. The distributed operation and dynamic topology have encouraged MANETs to be applied for establishing communication in unstable environments. MANET's dynamic topology and mobility have been very advantageous in the fields of military and disaster management. These dynamic characteristics of a MANET also create a major challenge in managing trust between the mobile nodes. Managing the trustworthiness of information that a node provides to the rest of the MANET is very crucial as misinformation spread can lead to erroneous decision making. Although previous studies have been carried out on trust management in MANETs using price-based and reputation systems, the potential of a globally distributed system has not been utilized practically. Therefore, these systems address the trust management issue within a boundary of a single MANET. Above mentioned systems should be re-evaluated when a node from another MANET joins a new MANET as the reputations of the node in the previous MANET cannot be imported to the new MANET. Lack of a possible solution for this gap may result in misinformation spreading by a malicious node before other nodes determine its reputation, which could be very dangerous in sensitive environments. Therefore, a globally distributed reputation model is a timely need in mobile ad-hoc networking. Blockchain technology is one of the most suitable technologies in present for its immutable and distributed properties to build robust systems. Blockchain is a distributed ledger, that has the ability to store feedback from mobile nodes about the accuracy of information provided by other nodes. A trust factor for each node can be calculated using these feedbacks. A mobile node can then decide whether to trust information, based on nodes' trust factors. Interference among distributed cloud applications can be classified into three types: full, partial and zero. While prior research merely focused on full interference, the partial interference that occurs at parts of applications is far more common yet still lacks in-depth study. Serverless computing that structures applications into small-sized, short-lived functions further exacerbate partial interference. We characterize the features of partial interference in serverless as exhibiting high volatility, spatial-temporal variation, and propagation. Given these observations, we propose an incremental learning predictor, named Gsight, which can achieve high precision by harnessing the spatial-temporal overlap codes and profiles of functions via an end-to-end call path. Experimental results show that Gsight can achieve an average error of 1.71%. Its convergence speed is at least 3x faster than that in a serverful system. A scheduling case study shows that the proposed method can improve function density by ≥18.79% while guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS).
