This paper addresses issues associated with modeling and simulation of wireless, mobile, and ad hoc networks. Particular attention is paid to an approach for federating parallel and distributed ad hoc networks simulators. We describe the design, functionality, implementation and performance of MobASim system. It is a Java-based software platform for MANETs simulation performed on parallel computers or computer clusters. The practical application is provided to illustrate the operation and efficiency of the presented software tool.

Cloud computing provides access to computing resources for a fee. Client applications and services can be hosted in clouds. Cloud computing typically uses a network of data centers that are geographically dispersed. The distance between clients and applications is impacted by geographical distance. The geographical distribution of client requests can be random and difficult to predict. This suggests a need to reconsider the placement of services at run-time through migration. This paper describes a framework based on software-defined networking (SDN) principles. It demonstrates algorithms that are periodically executed and determine candidate services to migrate as well as target data centers to migrate to and an evaluation. The evaluation shows that effectiveness of the algorithms.

We introduce SpDISTAL, a compiler for sparse tensor algebra that targets distributed systems. SpDISTAL combines separate descriptions of tensor algebra expressions, sparse data structures, data distribution, and computation distribution. Thus, it enables distributed execution of sparse tensor algebra expressions with a wide variety of sparse data structures and data distributions. SpDISTAL is implemented as a C++ library that targets a distributed task-based runtime system and can generate code for nodes with both multi-core CPUs and multiple GPUs. SpDISTAL generates distributed code that achieves performance competitive with hand-written distributed functions for specific sparse tensor algebra expressions and that outperforms general interpretation-based systems by one to two orders of magnitude. © 2022 IEEE.

With the emergence of Information-Centric networking as a potential paradigm shift in the computer networking field, the coupling between VANETS and Named-Data networking, known as VNDN, has gained momentum as a promising communication standard to foster the deployment of inter-vehicular communications in the real world, calling the attention of the research community. This work presents a concise VNDN review focusing on the background concepts. We also analyze the current status and open challenges, including the prominent data naming and caching approaches and the most efficient Interest and Data message forwarding and delivery strategies.

Fog computing is a promising computing paradigm that provides computing services close to end-users at edge of the network. Therefore, it supports large-scale, geographically distributed and latency-sensitive applications. However, due to its untrusty nature, numerous security challenges must be overcome. The integrity verification of the data in fog computing context is one of the main challenges to tackle. Indeed, most of existing solutions consider a centralized data storage context, and usually rely on a trusted third party to check data integrity. However, these approaches are not suitable for fog computing architecture, since the data is stored in a dynamic and a completely distributed manner. Motivated by these challenges, we propose in this paper, a new efficient public verification scheme that protects the integrity of the data in fog computing architecture. Our scheme secures data integrity and authenticity based on the short integer solution SIS problem and the identity-based signatures. In addition, it allows to efficiently verify the integrity of data, even when it is separately shared on multiple servers. This verification can be performed by any end-user on the architecture, and without relying on any trusted third party. Finally, we show through extensive simulation that our solution is highly effective and outperforms existing solutions.

With the rapid development of information technology, people have put forward higher requirements for the audio-visual experience and usage functions of conference spaces. The traditional, single-function conference room configuration can no longer adapt to the diverse needs of modern work and interactive activities. How to achieve efficient management and control, seamless interconnection, and resource sharing of audio systems across spaces, while ensuring the acoustic characteristics and flexibility of each independent space, has become a core issue that needs to be urgently resolved in building a multi-hall, multi-functional conference room cluster. Based on the audio system project of the Academic Center of the Communication University of China, this paper proposes a solution for a conference room cluster audio system based on a distributed architecture. This solution not only overcomes the limitations of traditional systems in terms of scalability, collaborative work, and resource scheduling but also promotes lossless transmission, real-time processing, and adaptive configuration of audio signals. Thus, it ensures the consistency and high quality of the audio experience within the entire cluster, providing practical guidance for the design and optimization of future conference room audio systems.

this paper, we propose a distributed differential en/decoding scheme for Alamouti's orthogonal space-time code using in a cooperative system. The relay terminal operates in the decode-and-forward (DF) mode. The proposed scheme does not require the knowledge of the channel state information (CSI) at either user or destination terminals.

Complex Event Processing (CEP) and Mobile Adhoc networks (MANETs) are two technologies that can be used to enable monitoring applications for Emergency and Rescue missions (ER). MANETs are characterized by energy limitations, and in-network processing or distributed CEP is one possible solution. Operator placement mechanism for distributed CEP has a direct impact on energy consumption. Existing operator placement mechanisms focus on static network topologies and are therefore inappropriate for MANETs scenarios. We propose a novel energy efficient decentralized distributed placement mechanism, designed to achieve fast convergence with minimal data transmission cost while achieving a near optimal placement assignment. We compare our decentralized placement mechanism with a centralized approach under different mobility scenarios. Furthermore, we evaluate the distributed CEP under different workload scenarios in order to gain additional insight into different performance characteristics of the system. Finally, we measure the impact of a simple placement replication scheme on the overall system performance in terms of delay and message overhead. Our decentralized placement mechanism achieves up to almost 50% lower message overhead compared to the centralized approach, and it has lower message overhead across different mobility scenarios compared to the centralized approach. The placement replication scheme achieves up to 51% lower delay compared to the decentralized placement mechanism with no replication.
