From the view of distributed application, it has the two important points to build ontology: sharing domain knowledge, reuse of domain knowledge. There are some problems in the present distributed applications based on ontology: It may use different terms for a same concept in different systems and it does not facilitate the information interchange between heterogeneous systems. Also, it lacks of a rigorous formal logic description for verification. Considering the application in the Internet, in this paper, we present a uniform expression format based on XML/RDF to describe the ontology, and extend PSL by creating new PSL Extensions to define the ontology of location, organization, resources, activity, process and product. These provide the mobile agent application system formal description language that supports the verification of the system and the translation with other application systems.

distributed storage systems often have to guarantee data availability despite of failures or temporal downtimes of storage nodes. For this purpose, a deletion-tolerant code is applied that allows to reconstruct missing parts in a codeword, i.e. to tolerate a distinct number of failures. The Reed/Solomon (R/S) code is the most general deletiontolerant code and can be adapted to a required number of tolerable failures. In terms of its least information overhead, R/S is optimal, but it consumes significantly more computation power than parity-based codes. Reconfigurable hardware can be employed for particular operations in finite fields for R/S coding by specialized arithmetics, so that the higher computation effort is compensated by faster and parallel operations. We present architectures for an application-specific acceleration by FPGAs. In this paper, strategies for an efficient communication with the accelerating FPGA and a performance comparison between a pure software-based solution and the accelerated system are provided.

This paper is presenting a discussion of feral informationsystems (FIS) in relationship to enterprise architecture (EA) thereby aiming to better qualify the architectural understanding of informationsystems not in line with corporate IT/IS strategy and policies. A qualitative and case-based approach is used as empirical foundation of this paper. With users developing own IS, classical strategy-based EA approaches are challenged. Identifying FIS can strongly improve insight into organizational processes and shortcomings official EA. A functional and temporal perspective is proposed to guide EA processes to embrace unofficial, user-driven systems. As FIS tend not to follow any rules of corporate IS, EA embrace of FIS is more complex. Using a meta-model for the social and operational character of FIS this complexity can be managed along with the improve business insight. The recognition of FIS in EA both opens up for insight in local adaptations of business processes, but can also create room for low-cost innovation and rapid response to changes in business conditions. Several forecasts are suggesting corporate IT/IS to be more user-driven and with reduced control from IT/IS professionals. This paper is opening a discussion on EA practice when centralized control is assumed to decline. EA has a tendency to be developed "top-down" emphasizing strategic alignment. In this contributed it is suggested to include social and operational alignment in EA practice.

The paper explores parallel connected bidirectional DC-DC converters for energy storage applications in microgrid. The parallel operated bidirectional DC converter confronts with inaccurate current sharing due to the voltage imbalance and the circulating current. The parallel DC DC power stage and its control in the micro grid proves to be more prominent and its efficiency is predetermined by the factors like the minimum circulating current and voltage balance. This paper aims at achieving accurate current sharing with a power based droop mechanism. The cynosure of the current work is carried out in two stages involving the proposed droop mechanism and the cascaded control. Due to the self-regulating voltage gain, bidirectional capability, the dual active bridge bidirectional DC-DC converter is chosen for the current work. The proposed droop strategy is deployed for battery fed converters to share power irrespective of instantaneous estimation of state of charge of batteries. This can be achieved by deriving a relation between the output power and the state of charge of batteries and formulating a droop equation based on power. The system is simulated in the MAT LAB Simulink environment and the results were analyzed experimentally.

distributed Video Coding (DVC) is a new video compression technique based on Slepian-Wolf and Wyner-Ziv information theorems with the characteristics of simple encoding and complicated decoding. Side information is a major component of the DVC. It impacts the performance of decoding. In the paper, we propose an improved motion estimation scheme for the side information. The scheme integrates forward motion estimation and bidirectional motion estimation with Kalman filter in order to reduce the complexity in computing the motion vector. Experiments show that the quality of the side information can be enhanced by using the proposed scheme, comparing with the traditional motion estimation schemes.

In symbolic computation, polynomial multiplication is a fundamental operation akin to matrix multiplication in numerical computation. We present efficient implementation strategies for HT-based dense polynomial multiplication targeting multi-cores. We show that balanced input data can maximize parallel speedup and minimize cache complexity for bivariate multiplication. However, unbalanced input data, which are common in symbolic computation, are challenging. We provide efficient techniques, what we call contraction and extension, to reduce multivariate (and univariate) multiplication to balanced bivariate multiplication. Our implementation in Cilk++ demonstrates good speedup on multi-cores.

Simultaneous Wireless information and Power Transfer (SWIPT) technique is introduced in Radio Frequency (RF) communication to carry both information and power in same medium. In this approach, the energy can be harvested while decoding the information carries in an RF wave. Recently, the same concept applied in Visible Light Communication (VLC) namely Simultaneous Light Wave information and Power Transfer (SLIPT), which is highly recommended in an indoor applications to overcome the problem facing in RF communication. Thus, SLIPT is introduced to transmit the power through a Light Emitting Diode (LED) luminaries. In this work, we compare both SWIPT and SLIPT technologies and realize SLIPT technology archives increased performance in terms of the amount of harvested energy, outage probability and error rate performance.

The generation of the side information is an important part in the design of a distributed video coding (DVC) system as it directly relates to the system's rate distortion performance. In multi-view systems spatial/view inter-camera correlations can be exploited alongside temporal/motion intra camera ones for generating the side information as accurately as possible. In this paper, algorithms for fusing multiple such side information estimates, generated with temporal and view interpolation methods, are proposed. Two algorithms are suggested along with weighted fusion schemes for combining multiple methods. The results presented indicate performance improvements of up to 2 dB compared to exiting fusion approaches.
