We consider the problem of profit optimization for cloud brokerage service in the IaaS environment. We replace this optimization problem with a game-theoretic approach where players tend to achieve a solution by reaching a Nash equilibrium. We propose a fully distributed algorithm based on applying the Spatial Prisoner's Dilemma (SPD) game and a phenomenon of collective behavior of players participating in the game composed of two classes of automata-based agents - Cellular Automata (CA) and Learning Automata (LA). We introduce dynamic strategies like local profit sharing, mutation, and competition, which stimulate the evolutionary process of developing collective behavior among players to maximize their profit margin. We present the results of an experimental study showing the emergence of collective behavior in such systems.

This paper proposes a comprehensive solution to combat the growing threat of Deepfake technology, employing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Blockchain. CNNs analyze video frames for anomalies indicative of Deepfake manipulation, while Blockchain ensures content integrity through timestamping and IPFS hashes. Leveraging transfer learning with EfficientNet-B1 architecture and dropout layers to prevent overfitting, the CNN model attains a 98.53% accuracy on testing data. Smart contracts are utilized to store social media content and AI verification results. The methodology integrates private storage on social media platforms, AI-based CNN verification, Blockchain timestamping, smart contract verification, and continuous improvement. By synergizing AI and Blockchain technologies, our approach aims to bolster defenses against deceptive content proliferation, enhancing the reliability of online media ecosystems. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Preconditioned Conjugate Gradient (PCG) method has been one of the widely used methods for solving linear systems of equations for sparse problems. Pipelined PCG (PIPECG) attempts to eliminate the dependencies in the computations in the PCG algorithm and overlap non-dependent computations by reorganizing the traditional PCG code and using non-blocking allreduces . We have developed a novel pipelined PCG algorithm called PIPECG-OATI (One Allreduce per Two Iterations) which reduces the number of non-blocking allreduces to one per two iterations and provides large overlap of global communication and computations at higher number of cores in distributed memory CPU systems. PIPECG-OATI gives up to 3x speedup over PCG and 1.73x speedup over PIPECG at large number of cores. For GPU accelerated heterogeneous architectures, we have developed three methods for efficient execution of the PIPECG algorithm. These methods achieve task and data parallelism. Our methods give considerable performance improvements over PCG CPU and GPU implementations of Paralution and PETSc libraries.

Cyberspace has continued to evolve since the Internet became widespread in the 1990s. A variety of computer-mediated virtual environments have been created, including social networks, video conferencing, virtual 3D worlds (e.g., VR chat), augmented reality applications (e.g., Ingress), and non-fungible token games. Such virtual environments, while not permanent and incoherent, have brought us varying degrees of digital transformation. The term "metaverse" was devised to further facilitate the digital transformation of all aspects of our physical lives. With the increasing number of devices and users such as IoT, augmented reality and virtual reality glass connected to the metaverse, huge amounts of data need to be filtered or captured for metaverse security or user behavior analysis by utilizing pattern matching. However, directly utilizing the existing pattern matching engine is impossible since it cannot achieve the throughput that is required by the metaverse, where low throughput could cause poor user experiences. Thus, in this paper. we propose a new pattern matching design called Hyperverse. Hyperverse can significantly increase the throughput of pattern matching by designing a new algorithm that is based on instruction-level parallelism. We implement Hyperverse in Hyperscan. which is the fastest regular expression engine in the world. Compared with the existing solution, Hyperverse can achieve a throughput of up to 10.1Gbps per core, which is a 3.83x boost than the existing solution. Thus, the significantly increased throughput will prevent a negative impact on the user experience in the metaverse.

The data science community today has embraced the concept of Dataframes as the de facto standard for data representation and manipulation. Ease of use, massive operator coverage, and popularization of R and Python languages have heavily influenced this transformation. However, most widely used serial Dataframes today (R, pandas) experience performance limitations even while working on even moderately large data sets. We believe that there is plenty of room for improvement by investigating the generic distributed patterns of dataframe operators. In this paper, we propose a framework that lays the foundation for building high performance distributed-memory parallel dataframe systems based on these parallel processing patterns. We also present Cylon, as a reference runtime implementation. We demonstrate how this framework has enabled Cylon achieving scalable high performance. We also underline the flexibility of the proposed API and the extensibility of the framework on different hardware. To the best of our knowledge, Cylon is the first and only distributed-memory parallel dataframe system available today. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

By using the cloud computing platform that has achieved excellent commercial results to perform parallel classification processing of massive remote sensing data, it can meet the requirements of improving the parallel processing efficiency of massive remote sensing data. The purpose of this paper is to study the application of distributed cloud computing architecture in hyperspectral remote sensing image classification based on big data. The related technologies of cloud computing are expounded, and the model of SCSRC, a sparse representation classification method based on spatial correlation constraints, is proposed. By analyzing the principle and solution method of SCSRC model, a distributed classification algorithm DP-SCSRC based on spatial correlation constraint sparse representation is proposed on the Spark platform, and the following optimization methods are designed for the core steps. Finally, through experiments with different computing nodes and different amounts of computing data, it is proved that the DP-SCSRC algorithm has a good distributed speedup ratio and data scalability under the premise of ensuring the classification accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

The DRM (Digital Rights Management) systems protect owners' copyrights by controlling consumers' access to digital works. However, they fail to provide authorization evidence if customers use digital works on other platforms outside the DRM systems. There is no such evidence that can trustworthily be disseminated in computer networks, which results in many copyright lawsuits. To address the problem, we propose the Copyrights Authorization Model (CAM) and the Hebo system to ensure the consensus on copyright authorization in computer networks. The CAM proves that participants agree on copyright authorizations if they are traceable, integrated, and non-repudiated. Based on the CAM, we design the ledger of trusted authorization forest that keeps the three properties and independent zones that maintain the ledger. The Hebo system is composed of these zones. It can provide authorization evidence for consumers to avoid copyright disputes. Besides, it has the advantages of a beneficial locality. The TPS (transactions per second) can increase with the number of independent zones, nodes can flexibly choose ledgers according to their capability, the system reduces redundant storage, and zones allow asynchrony. Finally, we evaluate the system on five different platforms, and the average time costs of operations are less than 60 milliseconds. The TPS of a single node depends on the configuration of the hardware, which is an average of 138, 19, 24, 21, and 98 in Server, MacBook, J_Nano, Pi4B, and J_TX2, respectively.
