Given the challenges and risks of the marine environment, ensuring the safety and accuracy of underwater equipment is crucial for scientific research, resource development, and personnel safety. The measurement method of digital fringe projection is widely used in many fields. We propose a model to compensate the refractive index correction of underwater collected pictures for underwater structured light calibration based on digital fringe projection. This method allows for precise underwater structured light calibration and 3d reconstruction. The process involves calibrating the airborne system, using the three-frequency heterodyne principle and eight-step phase-shifting method for grating digital fringe projection, and creating a pixel-by-pixel phase-height map for accurate calibration. We then apply a refractive index correction model to produce a correction map, which improves the accuracy of underwater specimen imaging and ultimately generates high-precision point cloud data. Experimental results show that our method efficiently identifies seam features with minimal error compared to air-based methods, offering a robust solution for underwater high-precision measurement.

Face is an essential medium for complex non-verbal communication between humans. Its articulation plays an important role in everyday life, including: manifestation of emotional and awareness states, cognitive activity, personality or wellbeing. With the advances in 3-d imaging technology and ever increasing computing power, automatic analysis of facial articulation using 3-d sequences has become viable. This paper describes a newly developed high-resolution, comprehensive 3-d dynamic facial articulation database which is designed not only for comparative studies of facial expression analysis but also to aid research into clinical diagnosis of facial dysfunctions. The database currently contains 3,360 facial sequences captured from 80 volunteers of various age, gender and ethnicity and will be made available to the wider research community in early autumn 2011. It has been validated using computer-based experiments as well as psychophysical experiments that were used to formally evaluate the accuracy of the recorded expressions. This database is believed to be one of the most comprehensive repositories of facial 3d dynamic articulations to date.

recent advances in the hardware of handheld devices, opened up the way for newer applications in the healthcare sector, and more specifically, in the teleconsultation field. Out of these devices, this paper focuses on the services that personal digital assistants and smartphones can provide to improve the speed, quality and ease of delivering a medical opinion from a distance and laying the ground for an all-wireless hospital. In that manner, PdAs were used to wirelessly support the viewing of digital imaging and communication in medicine (dICOM) images and to allow for mobile videoconferencing while within the hospital. Smartphones were also used to carry still images, multiframes and live video outside the hospital. Both of these applications aimed at increasing the mobility of the consultant while improving the healthcare service.

In this paper, we present a learning based approach to depth fusion, i.e., dense 3d reconstruction from multiple depth images. The most common approach to depth fusion is based on averaging truncated signed distance functions, which was originally proposed by Curless and Levoy in 1996. While this method is simple and provides great results, it is not able to reconstruct (partially) occluded surfaces and requires a large number frames to filter out sensor noise and outliers. Motivated by the availability of large 3d model repositories and recent advances in deep learning, we present a novel 3d CNN architecture that learns to predict an implicit surface representation from the input depth maps. Our learning based method significantly outperforms the traditional volumetric fusion approach in terms of noise reduction and outlier suppression. By learning the structure of real world 3d objects and scenes, our approach is further able to reconstruct occluded regions and to fill in gaps in the reconstruction. We demonstrate that our learning based approach outperforms both vanilla TSdF fusion as well as TV-L1 fusion on the task of volumetric fusion. Further, we demonstrate state-of-the-art 3d shape completion results.

digital image processing is a nascent field that emerged alongside computers. Its techniques vary by job. Applications that save, compress, distribute, and visualize images are different from those that analyze images for human visual perception. digital image processing helps doctors diagnose patients using visual data in hospitals and clinics. In CAd systems, mammography-based early breast cancer detection is significant. CAd systems make unhealthy tissues more evident in medical images like digital chest X -rays and mammograms to facilitate early identification. Some clinicians prescribe digital mammography scans for women over 40 without a history of breast cancer. CAd systems employ low-dose X-rays that are mild on healthy breast tissue but conceal healthy and ill cells, making diagnosis harder. Thus, mammography second opinions are frequently needed to support and enhance medical decisions. recent advances in deep and machine learning, particularly with computer-aided diagnostic tools, have improved diagnosis accuracy. Compared to prior methods, deep convolutional layers yield more resilient and recognizable features. Breast tumors are identified and classified using AlexNet and ResNet-18 models trained with AdaBoost. Mammograms are enhanced using an average filter first. deep convolutional layers extract the most reliable deep characteristics. The AdaBoost technique classifies these traits, showing how deep learning and machine learning may improve diagnostic accuracy. The combination of ResnetNet-18 and Adaboost was the most effective hybrid model out of all the ones that were evaluated. The test results showed an accurateness of $\mathbf{8 1 . 5 \%}$, a compassion of $\mathbf{9 2 \%}$, and a specificity of $\mathbf{7 0 . 5 \%}$. The conclusions demonstration that using ResNet in conjunction with AdaBoost, a deep learning framework, improves diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity.

Generation of digital Elevation Models (dEM) typically requires fine image matching between set of images acquired with a wide-baseline and appropriate B/H ratio. Wide baseline stereo imaging is an expensive process since it requires two or more acquisitions at the cost of nominal mono-imaging operations. due to the wide-baseline, angular separation in views is required, which results in increased occlusion problems leading to holes in the generated dEM. Multiview images taken with wide baselines also have lower overlap area compared to images taken from narrow-baseline systems. Moreover, while making orthorectified maps, large tilts need to be corrected using processing techniques to obtain a top-down view. To alleviate these issues, we propose a novel dEM generation pipeline that utilizes the narrow-baseline information between bands of a single multispectral image. Our method can generate sub-pixel accurate disparity maps while tackling spectral information change. Final dEM is generated from the disparity by using reference Ground Control Points (GCPs) and an iterative control point registration procedure. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our dEM generation pipeline on Resourcesat-2 LISS- IV multispectral image with a BIH ratio as low as 0.018. Our results show that sub pixel disparity of the order of 1/50th of a pixel can be computed. A visual and quantitative comparison of the generated dEM with the wide-baseline dEM from Cartosat-l shows that the elevation information is estimated with good overall agreement even for a hilly region. Our technique makes it possible to extract elevation information from mono-multispectral images with unusually low B/H ratios, potentially enabling the generation of dEMs from multispectral images that would not normall be considered viable for this purpose.

imaging technology has made tremendous progress in recent years, and digital images can now be captured by a variety of handheld devices such as mobile phones, wearables, tabs, and camcorders. These images are shared daily on social networks. Meanwhile, photo-editing software tools are making a comeback from the dawn of social networking, and filtering is just a few clicks away from your smart phone. These latest advances in image editing tools have eroded trust in digital images and cast doubt on their integrity and authenticity. Here, we use a machine learning algorithm (SVM) to effectively detect if an image has been manipulated and block users who try to upload altered images.

Capitalizing on advances in CMOS and MEMS technologies, microrobots have the potential to dramatically change many aspects of medicine by navigating bodily fluids to perform targeted diagnosis and therapy. Onboard energy storage and actuation is very difficult at the microscale, but externally applied magnetic fields provide an unparalleled means of wireless power and control. recent results have provided a model for accurate real-time control of soft-magnetic bodies with axially symmetric geometries. In this paper, we extend the model to consider the real-time control of assembled-MEMS devices that may have significantly more complex geometries. We validate the model through FEM and experiments. The model captures the characteristics of complex 3-d structures and allows us, for the first time, to consider full 6-dOF control of untethered devices, which can act as in vivo microrobots or as end-effectors of micromanipulation systems.

In 3d reconstruction, how to recover high-resolution 3d surface details from the existing low-resolution 3d surface is still a challenging problem. due to the unstructured and irregular characteristics of 3d data, it is usually difficult to obtain extremely dense 3d surface and capture detailed local features. To tackle this problem, this article introduces an effective deep convolutional network, namely RGFTNet, to perform 3d surface super-resolution in 2d normal domain. To restore dense surface details and learn sharp geometry structures simultaneously, a shape prior acquisition method is designed to achieve the high-quality shape normal from the input low-resolution one. Subsequently, the extracted shape normal as the shape prior is incorporated into a deep convolutional network through the Geometric Feature Transform (GFT) layer. Experimental results show the superiority of the proposed RGFTNet over several recent advances on both the computer-generated and the real-world data.
