sensor nodes deployment is very critical in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) to cover a set of predetermined locations called “targets” in the region of interest (ROI), and to enhance the coverage area, optimal position of sensor nodes in ROI is essential. The aim of sensor nodes deployment and coverage in WSNs is to compute sensor node’s locations in the given network terrain such that they effectively detect the events as well as maximize the network lifetime. Battery depletion at sensor nodes creates coverage holes in ROI and it mitigates the network coverage. The objective of this paper is to define optimal locations of sensor nodes prior to their deployment and enhance the coverage area in the given geographical location using an improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) algorithm. The experimental results showed superior coverage and faster convergence rate with the IPSO algorithm-than random deployments and grid-based deployments of sensor nodes.

An optimized micro battery has been created and analyzed in this research article. Artificial intelligence (AI) applications require micro batteries because of their high energy density and tiny size. Small gadgets like wearables, sensors, and Internet of things devices can be powered by them. Micro Batteries: As AI technologies develop, they offer a small, dependable power source that helps energy-efficient systems function. Additionally, by integrating them with edge computing, devices can function autonomously without a continuous power supply. Additionally, micro batteries are appropriate for autonomous systems, flexible and tiny form factors, low-power sensors, wearable AI devices, and prolonged battery life. All things considered, microbatteries are essential for the creation and implementation of small, energy-efficient, and portable AI devices, meeting power needs and mobility of AI technologies.

Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly expanding, and a wide range of technologies are being developed for IoT solutions. The majority of studies on these solutions focus on a specific communication standard, which contradicts the IoT system's overall architecture. This paper presents the methodology of a fully functioning LoRaWAN based IoT system that is connected to various cloud platforms and how each platform process the data collected. Finally, when the data value increases in a catastrophic situation, a user notification will be delivered. Presently, the described IoT structure serves the European region and its surrounding area. The system has been demonstrated as a service that is capable of serving a wide range of IoT-based applications across many cloud platforms. © 2022 IEEE.

Recent advancements in 3D scanning technologies enable us to acquire the hand geometry represented as a three-dimensional point cloud. Providing accurate 3D hand scanning and accurately extracting its biometrics are of crucial importance for a number of applications in medical sciences, fashion industry, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). Traditional methods for hand measurement extraction require manual intervention using a measuring tape, which is time-consuming and highly dependent on the operator's expertise. In this paper, we propose, to the best of our knowledge, the first deep neural network for automatic hand measurement extraction from a single 3D scan (H-Net). The proposed network follows an encoder-decoder architecture design, taking a point cloud of the hand as input and outputting the reconstructed hand mesh as well as the corresponding measurement values. In order to train the proposed deep model, a novel synthetic dataset of hands in various shapes and poses and their corresponding measurements is proposed. Experimental results on both synthetic data and real scans captured by Occipital Mark I structure sensor demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in terms of accuracy and speed.

High-resolution acoustic imaging was deployed for the first time in the Middle East to assess cased hole well integrity and completion performance in several different *** integrity-based inspections represent the first time this novel technology was ran in for the purpose of investigating well integrity *** paper introduces this new technology, showcases and validates its core applications in well integrity assessments, and highlights the findings from the three wells logged in *** solid-state acoustic imaging technology utilizes up to 512 independent sensors that encompass the sensors *** of these sensors captures amplitude or acoustic intensity signals and time of flight measurements which are then processed into 3D renderings, conventional 2D logs, and submillimetric measurements of all defects using proprietary surface detection and defect localization *** sensor array is controlled entirely electronically via software to focus the acoustic energy at the casing wall, this focal distance can be adjusted on the fly enabling multiple casing or tubing strings of varying diameters to be assessed in a single *** technology inspects cased wells for inner and outer diameter corrosion and pitting, casing deformation, connection defects such as over-torquing, breaches, and perforated/engineered punches, resulting in more efficient and valuable cased hole integrity *** paper showcases the results of laboratory validation of well integrity defects imaged using this *** addition, the paper presents example of a well inspected throughout *** unique findings were observed and the novel images from some of the most impactful findings are presented in this paper. So far, it shows a growing interest in the biomechanics community in the development of wearable technologies and their clinical applications, which enables the diagnosis of movement disorders and design of the rehabilitation interventions. To provide reliable feedback in the human-machine interface for advanced rehabilitation devices, methods to predict motion intention was developed which aim to generate future human motion based on the measured motion. An inertial measurement unit (IMU) is a promising device for motion tracking, with the advantages of low cost and high convenience in sensor placement to measure motion in almost every environment. However, it reveals that few contributions have been devoted to human motion prediction with pure IMU data. Thus, we propose a hybrid method integrating a musculoskeletal (MSK) model and the long short-term memory (LSTM) artificial neural network (ANN) to predict human motion. The proposed method was capable to predict motion in the daily tasks (stand-to-sit-to-stand and walking) for healthy participants: the predicted knee joint angles had an RMSE of 2.93 degrees when compared to measured knee joint angles from the IMU data. The proposed method outperformed the methods based on the ANN/MSK model (RMSE of 31.15 degrees) and LSTM without the integration of the MSK model (RMSE of 31.26 degrees) in the motion prediction.

The research aims to explain and provide a more detailed description of how mobile devices search for and connect to wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, and cellular networks, with a special focus on Wi-Fi technology. The study includes an overview of various attacks on these mobile devices, such as phishing, malware, and various attacks on wireless technologies. Furthermore, the impact of these attacks on devices, such as stealing sensitive information, gaining control over the device, or damaging it, is comparatively analyzed. The main task was to create a software tool in Python for the operating system Linux, which monitors mobile devices using a Wi-Fi module, monitors frames, and packets. The resulting software solution captures and processes data from mobile devices, allowing for effective management of information and simulation of exploratory attacks. The goal is to offer educational resources for simulated exploratory attacks, highlighting possible exploitation methods to improve defense strategies.

This study presents a seat occupancy detection system for waiting rooms utilizing the Arduino Nano IoT 33 platform. The primary aim is to create an affordable and scalable solution to accurately monitor seat occupancy in real-time, improve space management, and reduce waiting times in healthcare and public service settings. The system uses ultrasonic sensors to detect individuals sitting in seats, which are then connected to the IoT platform to provide real-time data to a central monitoring system. The system underwent testing in a simulated environment and demonstrated a high level of accuracy in detecting occupancy, with an error margin of less than 5%. Its modular design allows for easy expansion and integration with existing IT infrastructures, making it flexible for applications beyond waiting rooms, such as conference halls, classrooms, and public transport systems. The study also discusses the challenges associated with sensor accuracy, energy efficiency, and data privacy. It proposes potential solutions such as integrating additional sensor types, using energy-efficient IoT protocols, and complying with legal standards. The results indicate that the system can significantly improve the management of public spaces, providing a cost-effective tool for organizations to optimize space utilization and enhance user experience. This study contributes to the field of smart environments and demonstrates the potential of IoT technology in addressing practical challenges in public service management. Future work will focus on implementing machine learning algorithms to improve system accuracy and adaptability in dynamic environments.

underwater wireless sensor networks were created as a result of the spread of wireless sensor networks. Because of its extensive and in-the-moment applications, it has had a significant impact on research. However, there are numerous challenges to successfully implementing underwater wireless sensor networks. The issue of energy depletion in sensor nodes is the biggest concern in the underwater sensor network. In this article, the Ant Lion optimization algorithm (ALOA) is employed to extend the lifespan of the underwater wireless sensor network, collect information from inner sub-cluster sensor nodes, and shorten the relay nodes’ multi-hop transmission distance. The undersea network area is modeled as a set of three-dimensional concentric cylinders with many stages. Each stage is also separated into a number of blocks, each of which represents a single cluster. The suggested algorithm operates in a bottom-up Vertical communication from the ocean floor to the surface. The communication problems caused by strong water pressure toward the sea floor are resolved by using many levels of differing heights. Simulations are run to demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested approach, which performs better in terms of throughput of 297.99 kbps, PDR of 46.34%, energy usage of 13%, and packet loss of 165.6 kbps.
