Selecting the cluster head over the WSN is a challenge. In the existing methodologies, the CHs require high residual energy and also reduce the quality of the system. So, to keep the system more efficient as well as to enhance the system quality a novel fuzzy-based sea lion optimization (FbSLO) mechanism has been developed in this research. Here, the cluster head selection is completely based on a fuzzy algorithm. Moreover, based on sea lion optimization shortest transmission path is measured to transmit the collected node information to the Base station (BS). Subsequently, the performance of the proposed model can be measured in four different parameters as Throughput, Network lifetime, Delay, and Residual energy. While comparing the performance score of the proposed model with the existing models, the developed model attains a better rate of performance. The proposed model attains high throughput is about 75 Mbps and the system has a poor delay is about 55 ms. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This research work presents the concept, implementation and testing of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in day-to-day life. The concept present in this manuscript finds applications for an elderly person who needs medical assistance in the form of reminders for medicine and whose general health conditions need to be monitored at intervals in the absence of working children. The proposed system consists of a daily wearable ID-card lanyard and a medicine dispensing module. The ID-Card lanyard is equipped with sensor/s to measure temperature and humidity, besides a heartbeat monitoring systemMLX90614ESF. The sensor for monitoring vitals is integrated in micro controller *** is also integrated with a buzzer that alerts the person regarding the medicine. A medicine dispensing box is an IoT model used to dispense pre-scheduled pills and required quantities of water via a chip for DC motor driver L298N. An acknowledgement is sent to the intended person after this. The sensor readings and IoT Module controls are displayed on the website that can be accessed remotely. During the research work various sensors were tested to determine the compatibility and practicality for the daily wearable. The results indicate efficacy of the tested sensors, to determine the ideal sensors which could be implemented for smooth implementation of proposed work. The combination of monitoring health parameters and medicine dispenser is our contribution in this work.

The study examines the relationship between new technologies and healthcare, with a particular emphasis on how WSNs, or wireless sensor networks, and the World of Things (IoT) work together to create smart healthcare systems. The introduction emphasises the need for creative healthcare solutions by highlighting the growth in life expectancy throughout the world and the resulting issues created by an ageing society. The literature study explores WSN-based communication technologies for healthcare, including standards and technology for both Low Power Wide-Area Networks (LP-WAN) and Low Rate Wireless Small Area Networks. Security and privacy issues in smart healthcare are also covered. The section on the suggested methodology describes the latest advancements and applications in smart healthcare, with a focus on application domains, system architectures, and the function of crowd and crowdsensing in these applications. There is discussion of the technical obstacles in intelligent health care design as well as the issues in crowdsourcing and crowdsensing. The discussion part outlines the essential elements of a successful smart healthcare system, such as energy-efficient equipment, secure communication channels, bandwidth, and Quality of Services (QoS) support. The conclusion emphasises how crucial it is to embrace technological innovations in order to reorganise healthcare systems while also recognising the need of resolving current issues, especially with regard to communication standards that deal with integrity, servicing, dependability, silence, and security. In order to improve early sickness identification and individualised treatment, the study promotes a preventative-focused healthcare approach that makes use of IoT technology, complex algorithms, and artificial intelligence

Tactile perception is a fundamental requirement to perceive and control the manipulation of an object via physical interaction. However, contemporary sensing technologies have some shortcomings in terms of directional force recognition such as inflexibility, intricate design, expensive fabrication methodology, and most importantly incompatibility with underwater applications. In this work, we report a facile and cost-effective methodology to build a soft and multi-directional force sensor especially focusing on its applicability in the underwater environment. The sensor consists of a silicone cover, a 3D printed pyramidal shape, piezo-resistive sensor nodes, and a silicone base. Whenever there is any force applied normal to the sensor, the pyramid shape would distribute the force equally to all the nodes and provide similar outputs from them whereas any other directional force would result in putting differential forces on the nodes and generate distinctive output patterns. The developed sensor was characterized experimentally and tested successfully for underwater demonstrations.

There are endless applications of Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) in many aspects that include safety, environmental monitoring, health care, etc. Despite this, energy is one of the main issues in WSN. Among the various methods that aim to overcome this issue is to select groups of nodes that are disjoint and are called dominating sets (DS). Each group carry out the tasks on behalf of their nearby nodes. This helps to prolong network lifespan by distributing data collection responsibilities across these groups, such that one group is responsible for handling these tasks then, after a certain period of time, another group replaces it, and so on. The goal of this paper is to identify energy-aware disjoint DSs that extend the lifetime for a given network with heterogeneous energy. A Bees algorithm-based method is presented to accomplish this goal. Simulations have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, have experienced rapid growth and widespread adoption across military and civilian applications in recent years. This paper offers a comprehensive survey of UAV technologies, focusing on their classifications, structural components, communication systems, and operating platforms. UAVs are categorized based on size, range, and altitude capabilities. Key structural elements such as frames, propulsion systems, sensors, and control mechanisms are examined. The paper also addresses communication requirements, architectures, protocols, and associated challenges. Furthermore, it reviews real time operating systems utilized in UAVs, high-lighting their design considerations. The survey concludes by identifying emerging trends and future research directions in UAV development, providing valuable insights for both newcomers and seasoned researchers in the field.

The automotive industry is undergoing an extensive transformation, with major car producers like Tesla, Waymo, along IT and telecom developers, advancing closer to the introduction of absolutely Autonomous Vehicles (AVs). While AVs are expected to become a mass phenomenon within the future, the adventure to fully independent using is fraught with numerous demanding situations. This paper provides an updated contrast of the technologies utilized in AV s, focusing at the performance of various sensors such as Lidar, Radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. It analyzes the impact of sensor fusion on environmental perception, that is crucial for the successful implementation of AV s. Using literary analysis, the study compares the differing types and volumes of information generated via these sensors, highlighting the drastic differences that stand up while extra sensors are used. The records from a couple of sensors have to be manipulated and processed via numerous ranges to be effective. The paper offers new fusion techniques that cope with contemporary challenges in autonomous riding belief duties and gives insights into future fusion-based totally techniques, which can be crucial for the big adoption of AVs.

The advent of Mobile Ad-hoc Wireless Networks (MANETs) offers a fresh framework for the implementation of numerous communication technologies and applications. In order to create estimates of MANET operation that better reflect observations, several simulations are often averaged together. In this paper, we provide a new approach to address jamming attacks in MANET. There is a comparison of the three encryption standards, 3DES, AES and RSA with Modified Encryption Algorithm, Our Proposed algorithm). The Modified Encryption. The Modified Encryption Algorithm method takes longer to encrypt data than the previous three algorithms (AES, 3DES, RSA), but it takes less time to decode data. Other research indicate that this metric demonstrates how much faster and more safe our encryption is. However, as computer power grows, tougher algorithms will be needed to fend off hacker attempts. Even on little devices like smartphones, MEA operates swiftly and effectively due to its well-designed software. MEA will offer higher security in the long run due to its big block size © 2023 IEEE.

Monitoring and caring for the elderly is becoming an increasingly urgent priority due to the rapid aging of the global population especially in low- and middle-income countries. In such countries there may be a shortage of specialists and an inadequate level of health facilities, together with long distances between hospital centers and economic barriers that limit access to medical care. Information and communication technologies (ICT) offer promising solutions to address these problems through telemedicine, telehealth and teleassistance applications, while fully respecting the ethical and privacy requirements of individuals. This study demonstrates the possibility of using radar sensors combined with deep learning techniques for non-contact and non-invasive monitoring of people, as an example for the detection of behavioral parameters indicative of the presence or onset of pathologies. As a use case, this paper describes the method by which the gait speed parameter can be extracted using a radar sensor by applying deep learning-based processing of the map.

One of the massive machine type communication (mMTC) applications for monitoring and sensing in 5G cellular network is the Internet of Things (IoT) based wireless sensor network (WSN). Load balanced cluster formation in such networks is being reported in recent research literature as a well studied NP-hard problem has no trivial or obvious solution. Several protocols have been proposed in recent studies to resolve the load balancing problem mostly resort to communication intensive centralized algorithms or computation intensive memetic or evolutionary algorithms that pose significant challenge on their applicability in pragmatic network deployment in real application scenario. In this work we proposed a simple yet effective distributed algorithm for Load profile oriented Balanced Cluster Assignment (LPOBCA) for IoT based large scale sensor network. Our algorithm works in a completely localized manner without the need of global topological information about the network. With simple and need based limited message passing the nodes self organize themselves to form well balanced clustered network solely based on their neighborhood information without the need of any computational intensive procedure. We evaluated our algorithm for various deployments viz. random, grid based and Gaussian networks and found our work seamlessly works on all such deployments. Simulation results shows our algorithm not only significantly minimizes on the standard deviation of loads among different cluster heads by 30–50% but also minimizes the energy requirement by 60–90% as compared to well documented existing algorithms for different network scenario and different node distribution in the network. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
