Recent times have overseen exceedingly high crime rates, and the appalling situation demands additional personal security measures. In light of the new advancements in technology, the demand for wireless systems has witnessed tremendous affinity, with major domains rapidly attempting to adopt the technique into their custom applications. Security is one such domain where wireless technology has thescope to achieve numerous practical applications. In one such instance, this study deploys the WiFi protocol over an intruder detection system using a TI LaunchPadMSP430. The TI launchpad is connected to the NuttyFi board which provides it with the internet connectivity required to put it online. The motion sensor acts as the input device that triggers the alarm which triggers output devices for intruder warning, in this case, a buzzerin parallel. The system also updates the alert in real-time online over the Blynk web server. This article combines embedded programming, wireless communication, hardware components, and sensing to build an intruder alert system. Using a page from technological baskets like IoT, RF, andembedded systems, the system fulfils a crucial requirement of the current society. Cross-platform usage boosts the utility of this system, putting it in the hands of millions of users.

Ensuring the quality of grapes is essential for producing premium wine. Grapes that are not sweet, excessively acidic, diseased, hybrid, or unripe can adversely affect the winemaking process. This research aims to develop an advanced image processing system to identify and exclude unsuitable grapes before they are used in production. Utilizing image processing techniques and machine learning approaches, the system analyzes grape images to detect issues such as low sugar content, high acidity, diseases, hybrid traits, and ripeness levels. The model is trained on a diverse dataset of grape images captured at various stages of growth and quality. Initial results show that the model can accurately classify grapes based on these factors, ensuring only highquality grapes are selected. As a continuation of this research, the major project will advance by designing a sensor-based system for real-time grape detection and automatic picking. This integration will further optimize vineyard management and enhance winemaking efficiency. Future efforts will focus on refining the image processing model, developing the sensor system, and implementing real-time vineyard applications.

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in interest in the use of flexible sensor structures for various applications. These structures are relatively inexpensive and can be fabricated in different shapes and sizes. The present article investigates three types of flexible capacitive sensor structures with different forms. The influence of bending on their capacitance, impedance, and dielectric losses in the frequency domain has been studied. Some of the obtained results are presented graphically, and an analysis of the properties of the structures has been conducted.

Vibration data consists of batches of time series which if accumulated over a period of time is a huge collection of numeric data. Reducing such data for use in deep learning models for computational efficiency is a challenge. Combinatorial and discrete approaches, on the other hand, is not an extensively explored area when it comes to datasets. This paper aims to identify feature reduction techniques based on discrete approaches such as euclidean distance using dot products on vibration data samples from accelerometers fitted on bearings. In this limited experimentation, the procured dataset by this approach is considerably smaller in size as compared to the actual complete data, and with comparable results in prediction models, it can be used as a smaller representation of a sensor timeline. The results based on different models show that such reductions can be considered in building IoT applications in industries based on sensors. (C) 2021 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

A Dijkstra-based cluster routing algorithm for wireless sensor networks (DCRA) is proposed to address challenges such as high system energy consumption, short node life cycles, and low network throughput in practical applications of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The algorithm comprises two phases: an initial phase and a data transmission phase. During the initial phase, the focus is primarily on establishing clusters, while in the data transmission phase, efforts are made to equalize the cluster head (CH) load. For this purpose, we globally consider the optimal transmission distance with respect to the distance between the CH and the base station (BS) and use Dijkstra’s algorithm to plan the CH routing. Simulation experiments are conducted in a consistent network environment to evaluate the proposed algorithm. The results demonstrate that compared to LEACH and DMH-LEACH algorithms, the DCRA algorithm effectively balances energy consumption among nodes, extends node life cycle, and enhances network throughput. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Joint flexion monitoring is critical to applications as diverse as healthcare, sports, gaming, etc. Nevertheless, existing technologies used to monitor joint kinematics are either restricted to contrived lab environments or lack liability and accuracy. We previously reported a wrap-around wearable loop sensor that overcomes these limitations. To date, the design has only been studied using cylindrical models to emulate the limb. In this work, we employ an anatomical arm model to further validate the design. Simulation results confirm that the sensor can reliably detect elbow flexion angles in the typical range of motion (i.e., 0°-130°). In the future, the design can be integrated into garments for seamless, real-world monitoring of joint flexion. © 2022 USNC-URSI.

IoT (Internet of Things)-based military monitoring has the potential to have a dramatic impact on troops and increase national security. Although we have deployed a variety of technology to assist troops during war, these can be also used to reduce their risk of injury and decrease the casualties. Tracking the health and tracing the soldier's location continuously would provide a significant change and help to them in the battle field. This project aims in combining some significant idea and technology which could save and reduce the number of casualties in some basic mission. On the battlefield soldiers are exposed to a variety of traumatic blasts that can cause fatal Traumatic brain damage (TBI), these are left unnoticed till the soldier reaches the base station. The primary goal of the work described is to create and deploy a soldier surveillance system that uses a wearable health sensor as a central hub to read real-time location, activity data. health information and blast sensor to detect the intensity of the blast and which contains a integrated circuit with gyro scope and accelerometer is interfaced with the system along with the other sensor and send notification to the control room to update about the soldier's well-being through IoT based correspondence framework for troopers. This system is An IoT- based wearable gadget concept framework for a military use. This concept has numerous military applications. This project aims to bring an effective communication between the soldier and base control by proving the base about the soldier's current health parameters, live location and several other parameters. Through cloud application the data can be accessed by the control room immediately and by the control room at any time of the mission/post mission. Each soldier must turn on his own device through cloud application the data can be accessed by the control room immediately.

This study suggests a scheme of data fusion strategy in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) based on optimizing the neural network (NN) to decrease data redundancy, increase data transmission, and save communication energy consumption in WSN. The optimal parameters are optimized by applying the bat algorithm (BA). The optimized neural network (NNBA) is used to fuse captured data in cluster head (CH) and then forwards the combined data to the base station (BS) of a WSN. The simulation experiment is implemented in several scenarios to test the proposed scheme performance. The proposed scheme's results show that the proposed algorithm can save sensor node energy consumption, extend the lifetime, and increase the data fusion accuracy of WSN. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
