This paper provides a device for enforcing rising technologies in smart farming with the Internet of Factors (IoT). The proposed device uses IoT sensors to accumulate records from the farm machines and surroundings and also offers a manner to manipulate the system consistent with programmed instructions. The facts are then analyzed with the use of a device-get-to-know (ML) algorithm to produce predictions useful for optimizing farm operations. Moreover, the machine additionally consists of a virtual assistant with Natural Language Processing (NLP) to assist the user with navigation and offer insights to farmers. Sooner or later, the machine additionally robotically triggers necessary actions, which include alerting the pest control offerings in case of illnesses. The viability of the gadget is shown through simulating the farm surroundings with the proposed system. The results demonstrate that the device is able to offer accurate predictions and deploy vital actions to help clever farming.

Climate change, Global warming and Environmental degradation have got a very close relationship and relevance to oceanographic changes. The parameters such as temperature, currents at the surface and deep-sea, salinity and marine biological disturbances of the ocean contribute a lot to the changes of its environmental behavior. This in turn leads to unpredictable contingencies and often disastrous effects on the entire society and surrounding. That purpose is met with by the adoption of efficient data aggregation algorithms for Underwater Wireless sensor Networks (UWSNs). Many researchers had employed UWSNs system to gather data on the factors of the ever changing sea environment. Invariably they all faced one unique problem of managing the energy source in conserving and controlling the utilization of the energy. It is absolutely essential to prolong and enhance the life-span of the network. The Segment Based Cluster with Data Aggregation (SBCDA) for Underwater Wireless sensor Networks reduce the redundancy, overhead in the Cluster Head, packet lost, consumption of energy thereby the life-span of the network is increased. © 2021 IEEE.

Underwater networks have the potential to allow previously unexplored applications as well as improve our ability to observe and forecast the ocean. Underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs) are often deployed in unprecedented and hostile waters and face many security threats. applications based on UASNs such as coastal defense, pollution monitoring, assisted navigation to name a few, require secure communication. A new set of communication protocols and cooperative coordination algorithms have been proposed to enable collaborative monitoring tasks. However, such protocols overlook security as a key performance indicator. Spoofing, altering, or replaying routing information can affect the entire network, making UASN vulnerable to routing attacks such as selective forwarding, sinkhole attack, Sybil attack, acknowledgement spoofing and HELLO flood attack. The lack of security against such threats is startling if it is observed that security is indeed an important requirement in many emerging civilian and military applications. In this work, the sinkhole attack prevalent among UASNs is looked at and discuss mitigation approaches that can feasibly be implemented in UnetStack3. © 2021 IEEE.

RF energy harvesting is constantly expanding in the field of low-power wireless sensors, as it provides a viable and cost-reduction solution for hard-to-maintain cases. In the meantime, significant progress has been made in the field of evolutionary optimization, with brand new and more intelligent optimization algorithms being published, with the Bald Eagle Search Algorithm (BES) being one of them. In this work, an ultra-wideband antenna for RF energy harvesting is optimized using the BES algorithm to maintain its wideband characteristics, while minimizing the complexity of its design.

Highly accurate and highly confident estimates of state of charge (SOC) are crucial prerequisites to maximizing the performance and safety achieved from a battery pack. SOC is not directly measurable, so algorithms of varying complexity and computation cost are employed to provide estimates of the values. Required inputs to the algorithms are the measurable quantities of the cell, whose performances are defined by precision, accuracy and synchronicity. This paper provides an evaluation of the impact on performance of SOC estimation based on the integrity of these inputs through execution of model-based simulation. It considers typical usage scenarios in electric-vehicle and ESS applications, cell chemistry, estimation method and measurement performance. The cell measurements under examination are: cell temperature, cell voltage and cell current. The cell model derivation and methods used in SOC estimation are described.

In this work, we proposed a fully dynamic dual-mode adjustable-gain interface circuit for resistive sensors. This interface circuits are designed with a high input dynamic range (DR) to process general resistive sensors. By adjusting the modulation period of the excitation signal and feedback capacitance of the switched-capacitor circuit, its gain can be tuned accordingly, which thereby enhances the overall DR. By employing different sampling schemes, both bridge resistance and bridge voltage can be measured. A dynamic amplifier is implemented to efficiently enable the proposed dual-mode operations. The proposed circuit was designed, and simulated using 180 nm CMOS technology. The DR enhancement technique provides an additional input range of approximately 50 dB with high SNDR, and an expanded range of 60 to 80 dB with a measurement accuracy of 1%.

With the advent of Agriculture 4.0 which encompasses cutting-edge technologies such as smart sensors, robots, wireless networks, big data analytics, machine learning, and much more. These advanced technologies allow agronomists and meteorologists to make profitable and environmentally friendly decisions. In recent times, several sensing methods have been developed to acquire soil moisture data. However, the studies exhibited severe limitations in terms of effectiveness and reliability. The current work presents the development and real field testing of a low-cost multi-depth capacitive soil sensor node that is capable of communicating real-time field data with high spatial resolution and scalability. The sensors are tested and calibrated in the lab before being trialed at a real pilot farm. The proposed sensor node also employed a tipping rain sensor and an environmental sensor to enhance the overall understanding of land and climatic conditions. The preliminary findings from the field sensors showed promising results that can be effectively utilized for long-term applications such as irrigation scheduling and weather forecasting. Such a system with industry collaboration can be considered a cost-effective solution for expensive commercial tools.

WSN consists of multiple small sensor nodes which are capable of sensing enormous events. sensor nodes are installed in multiple areas for sensing areas that are not easily accessible by human beings. Various application areas WSNs are environmental monitoring, agriculture, industrial automation, healthcare sector, etc. Even though with so many sensor applications, WSNs still suffer from common issues like less memory, very slow processing speed, and the shortest network lifetime. The main objective of this paper is to propose a computation-based approach that utilizes a metaheuristic firefly algorithm to optimize the data aggregation and routing process with the help of feed-forward back propagation neural network approach (FFBPNN), in WSNs. This model proposes a new method to select the next node and best route. Once the ranks are generated using the proposed approach, the data is transmitted back to the firefly method, which selects the ideal next node, and best route will be chosen on the basis of that. This strategy reduces latency, enhances packet delivery, and improves throughput, extending the network’s lifetime to make it an energy-efficient approach.

In this article, a live solution for data acquisition from sensors and its representation on a web interface is discussed with the help of a Raspberry Pi in which MQTT is used for communication the Flask as the framework. Particularly emphasized is the improvement of the efficiency and the time needed for generating Digital signature using the ECDSA algorithm which is traditionally slow and requires much resources to be applied for real time IoT applications. For this, the authors try the approach of parallel processing on the Raspberry Pi which becomes many times shorter in generation of the signatures without any loss of the data integrity. It involves input data including temperature, humidity, motion, distance, and light intensity, processes them and then sends the input data over a secure MQTT connection. They also showed that the FCMP algorithm incurs less computation time, and the speed attained is almost constant and stable when parallel processing is incorporated in the generation of some of the ECDSA algorithm’s signatures. As presented in the experimental results, the processing time is reduced in comparison with sequential processing, which emphasizes the possibility of parallelization. Altogether we can state that the usage of Raspberry Pi and Flask as the core of the system along with MQTT as a communication protocol provides the necessary level of security and reliability for monitoring the sensor data in the IoT system. They show that parallel processing can indeed help enhance the cryptographic operations making this approach beneficial for performance optimization across multiple IoT applications.
