Detecting the nitrogen content present in urea is of utmost importance in determining its suitability for agricultural applications. This specific research paper explores a method that employs Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) as the sensing material. The study revealed promising results, showcasing that the MWCNT-based sensor achieved its peak sensitivity, detecting urea concentrations with good precision. Specifically, it demonstrated a maximum sensitivity of 0.49% at a urea concentration of 1 0 ~ m M. Moreover, the sensor exhibited impressive sensitivity, with a rapid response time of 46 seconds and an efficient recovery time of just above 7 minutes. The sensing mechanism was initially confirmed through analytical techniques such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). By observing the change in intensity of the CO2 signal upon exposure to urea solution, the involvement of oxygen ions in the sensing process was validated. Furthermore, the confirmation of this mechanism was reinforced through detailed electrical characterization. Overall, the development of this sensing film represents a significant advancement in the field of urea detection as it offers a cost-effective solution that is non-enzymatic in nature, yet possesses good sensitivity. This breakthrough has the potential to greatly benefit agricultural practices by providing farmers and researchers with a reliable tool for assessing the quality of urea fertilizers efficiently and accurately. © 2024 IEEE.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) require efficient node deployment strategies to optimize network longevity, energy consumption, and coverage. This paper introduces a novel approach for strategic node deployment in WSNs using Bayesian Optimization (BO). A BO-based framework that iteratively modifies node positions to maximize network performance metrics, such as energy efficiency and coverage ratio, while minimizing execution time is proposed. Through extensive simulations across diverse deployment scenarios, the proposed method is evaluated and demonstrates superior performance compared to both traditional and machine learning (ML)-based techniques. The results indicate significant improvements in coverage and energy efficiency, alongside competitive execution times. These findings highlight the potential of BO to enhance WSN deployment strategies, offering a scalable and adaptive solution for real-world applications. Future research will focus on integrating BO with other optimization techniques and extending the approach to dynamic environments and varied network configurations. © 2025 IEEE.

Plantar pressure, the force exerted by the foot on the ground during standing, walking, and running, provides crucial insights into foot health and functionality. Foot plantar pressure is a crucial biomechanical parameter that influences various aspects of human locomotion and foot health. Understanding and accurately measuring plantar pressure distribution can provide insights into gait abnormalities, foot deformities, and the effectiveness of orthotic interventions. This research synthesizes recent advancements in plantar pressure measurement technologies and methodologies across diverse research studies. It explores the significance of plantar pressure in clinical diagnostics, rehabilitation strategies, and sports biomechanics. Despite its importance, existing methods such as platform systems and in-shoe sensors have limitations. Platform systems offer precise spatial resolution but are restricted to laboratory settings and may alter natural gait patterns. In-shoe sensors provide mobility and reflect real-world conditions but are prone to sensor displacement and may not capture pressure changes during dynamic activities effectively. Moreover, both types of systems often simplify foot biomechanics and soft tissue properties, potentially limiting their applicability in complex clinical scenarios. This study identifies these limitations and discusses recent innovations aimed at overcoming them, including deep learning algorithms for real-time pressure mapping and advanced sensor technologies for enhanced accuracy and reliability. By analyzing these advancements and their implications, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of current trends and future directions in plantar pressure research, facilitating improved clinical outcomes and innovative applications in foot health management. © 2024 IEEE.

Recent advancements in sensor technology have propelled the e-textile industry to the forefront of innovation. E-textiles, also known as smart fabrics, possess physical and dimensional flexibility, making them suitable for wearable sensor technology. These technologies are developed to cater to the needs of advanced daily life, which aligns with the IoT development trend. This paper introduces an applied resistive sensor that uses an electronic fabric made from elastic fabric and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) fabric as the electrical layer. The sensor achieves high sensitivity (2.6241 N-1 with force less than 1 N), thickness (similar to 3 mm), and versatility make it ideal for load performance and fast resistance switching without waiting for capacitor charging and discharging as capacitive sensors, facilitating faster interaction with e-touch. The study provides an overview of the sensor's characteristics and future directions, emphasizing the creation of soft sensors based on pyralux for medical devices and health monitoring applications in the future.

The article deals with project teaching using the PBL (Project Based Learning) methodology. This methodology aims to work in a project-based manner;that is, through a specific creative assignment, students will implement a specific solution in successive steps. In our case, it is a synthesis of the solutions of several projects (final theses) implemented through the PBL methodology. The goals of the projects followed each other over time. Gradually, a sensor network was first created, and then the data from sensors supporting Bluetooth was cleaned and analyzed. Based on data analysis, localization and identification of mobile devices were carried out. A web application filters and analyzes the data into categories according to distance and then displays the results through graphs and tables. The use of such an application is possible, for example, in the localization of mobile devices (telephones, iPads, hands-free, and other devices). The goal of localization can be used, for example, in determining the overcrowding of designated zones (e.g., shopping centers, squares), but also in epidemiological measures (e.g., like the COVID-19 pandemic), where faster transmission of the disease is possible in a crowded space. © 2024 IEEE.

The automotive industry is undergoing an extensive transformation, with major car producers like Tesla, Waymo, along IT and telecom developers, advancing closer to the introduction of absolutely Autonomous Vehicles (AVs). While AVs are expected to become a mass phenomenon within the future, the adventure to fully independent using is fraught with numerous demanding situations. This paper provides an updated contrast of the technologies utilized in AVs, focusing at the performance of various sensors such as Lidar, Radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. It analyzes the impact of sensor fusion on environmental perception, that is crucial for the successful implementation of AVs. Using literary analysis, the study compares the differing types and volumes of information generated via these sensors, highlighting the drastic differences that stand up while extra sensors are used. The records from a couple of sensors have to be manipulated and processed via numerous ranges to be effective. The paper offers new fusion techniques that cope with contemporary challenges in autonomous riding belief duties and gives insights into future fusion-based totally techniques, which can be crucial for the big adoption of AVs. © 2024 IEEE.

Meteorological stations are a set of measuring devices, consisting of different sensors that record and provide information about physical measurements related to climate variations. These physical quantities can be temperature, wind speed, rainfall, etc. This paper proposes an optimal solution to monitor weather conditions at low cost, power consumption, and long-range based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The wireless communication protocol is used for the installed sensor network to know the amount of irrigation water in an agricultural field based on the values acquired by the station and soil sensors for controlling the state of solenoid valves. This station mainly detects temperature, pressure, humidity, solar radiation, precipitation value, and wind speed. With that information, other data parameters can be calculated, such as Forest fire Weather Index (FWI) and evapotranspiration (ET0). The different data are sent to the database and web server, to be visualized at the developed applications.

This paper presents a comprehensive study on the enhancement of smart home automation and monitoring systems through the application of advanced activity recognition algorithms and sensor deployment optimization. We start by taking a CASAS dataset capturing a wide range of daily living activities, detected through an array of environmental sensors. This study conducts an in-depth analysis of activity recognition performance, leveraging precision, recall, and f1score metrics to identify areas for improvement in existing machine learning models. Further, we investigate sensor activation data to propose optimizations in sensor deployment, aimed at increasing the accuracy of activity recognition while reducing unnecessary sensor data processing. Through temporal analysis of activity patterns, we develop predictive models that forecast future activities with significant accuracy, facilitating smarter resource management and personalized automation strategies. This paper also explores the implications of our findings on user experience enhancement. Our methodology showcases the integration of machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, and practical considerations for deploying smart home technologies. The results indicate a promising avenue for future research and development in smart environments, with potential applications extending beyond residential settings to include healthcare facilities and office spaces. The findings underscore the importance of adaptive and intelligent systems in enhancing the quality of life through technology. © 2024 IEEE.

Any sensor utilization is largely dependent upon its electronics integration and portability. This work represents systematic work done on integration of a resonance-based sensor to appropriate electronic interface unit (EIU) and design-cumdevelopment of appropriate vector network analyzer (VNA) to demonstrate a complete portable resonance sensor. Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR) at 130 MHz is initially simulated and later fabricated on FR4 substrate copper clad. The development of the EIU addresses the limitations of traditional VNAs, offering a portable, adaptable, and budgetfriendly alternative. The experimental framework encompasses the ATmega328P microcontroller-based EIU and CSRR sensor. The EIU is optimized to identify the material based on resonance shifts obtained for various materials (Air, DI Water, Dimethylformamide (DMF), and Ethanol) and their concentrations. An efficient, reliable, and accessible approach is demonstrated for various technological applications for in-line testing and evaluation of hazardous ambiance. © 2023 IEEE.

Recent years have seen a meteoric rise in the volume of multimedia data generated by industries like e-commerce, finance, transportation, and social networks. Furthermore, the purpose of wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSN) is to offer real-time multimedia applications using wireless sensors. Furthermore, Deep learning has an enormous impact on many applications involving multimedia data for tasks, including picture clustering, image classification, natural language processing, and speech recognition. Multimedia data accuracy, WMSN noise, and unattended situations are all problems for traditional methods. There are many moving parts in a successful organization, but network effectiveness is the backbone of an online business. To combat the problem of data noise in wireless sensor networks, the authors of this article propose using Deep Learning to aid in the development of Effective Multimedia Data Models (DLA-EMDM). In particular, no previous work has tried to model multimedia data cyclically using a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). Based on the simulation findings, it is clear that the proposed DLA-EMDM approach improves the precision, efficiency ratio, cost-effectiveness, and silence of multimedia data processing in a WSN. By enhancing the aforementioned wireless network, we may furnish enhanced technical support and platform services to businesses and set the stage for enhancing business performance. © 2023 IEEE.
