Wireless sensor Networking is one of the most important technologies that have different applications. The security of wireless sensor networks is a big concern. Hence for secure communication it is important to detect and prevent the attacks in network. Major focus is given on security and on detection and prevention of attacks. Adversary can create gray-hole attack and black-hole attack simultaneously; there are many methods which do not provide proper method to defend against these kinds of attacks. The Ad-hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) scheme is used for detecting Gray-Hole attack and Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment (EAACK) mechanism is used for detecting black-hole attack in network. But only by detecting and preventing the attacks, it does not provide the better security to wireless network. Therefore, to secure network a hybrid mechanism is deployed in wireless sensor network. Security algorithm for wireless sensor networks such as CAWS and Modern Encryption Standard (MES-1) is used for secure communication. The CAWS and Modern Encryption Standard (MES-1) is an advanced cryptography method which is used for encryption and decryption process to provide special security. This paper focuses on strong security by detecting and preventing attacks, also ensures data authentication, integrity of data and solves less power transmission of data and receiver collision problem, by deploying hybrid mechanism.

Security is a pivotal issue for Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) which are emerging as a promising platform that enable a wide range of applications in military, scientific, industrial and commercial applications. Traceback as one of key cyber forensics technologies can play an important role to trace and locate malicioussource as to guarantee cyber security. An adaptive probability marking traceback (APMT) scheme is proposed to enhance security for WSNs. In APMT scheme, the marking probability is adaptive adjust according to the requirement of the security which can substantial reduce marking tuples and improve lifetime. The results of experimental show that: the number of total marking tuples can be reduced by 13.20%-73.70% in APMT scheme, it can improve the network lifetime, at the same time, and the traceback time can be reduced by more than 80%.

A new approach in terms of the transmission of multimedia applications over Wireless sensor Network has given rise to new technologies, namely Wireless Multimedia sensor Network (WMSN). However, multimedia data consisting of video, images, audio, and scalar data require Quality of Service (QoS) which differ based on application need. For that a new approach based on a model of cross-layer design is proposed. H.264/SVC and IEEE 802.11e EDCA standard are utilized in the model of cross-layer design to optimize the existing protocols. From the obtained data, video applications can obtain the bandwidth, and end-to-end delay of packets (latency) defined by Quality of Service (QoS) during transmission process via Wireless Multimedia sensor Network (WMSN). So the cross-layer design model has managed to optimize multimedia transmission via Wireless Multimedia sensor Network (WMSN).

With the rapid development of embedded devices, wireless sensor network and Internet of Things, elliptic curve cryptography as a public key cryptography plays an important role to solve the security challenges. How to improve the efficiency of scalar multiplication is a challenging work for future deployment of these new technologies. Because of its sparsity, triple-base number system is used to accelerate the scalar multiplication in elliptic curve cryptography. Instead of using triple base chain, we introduce the concept of constrained tripe-base number system, which sets maximums for exponents of bases 2, 3 and 5. On this basis, we propose two fast scalar multiplication algorithms for the situations with and without precomputations. Our experiments show that the two algorithms are more efficient than 4-NAF, double-base chain and triple-base chain approaches. The improvement of efficiency makes the two scalar multiplication algorithms more suit for wireless sensor network.

In Recent times Wireless sensor network (WSNs) has become one of the most interesting networking technologies since, it can be expanded without communication infrastructures. Wireless sensor network face certain limitations such as power, data redundancy and high bandwidth requirement when used for multimedia data .The researchers have focused on the video encoding at the multimedia sensors side, applying the real-time compression on the video data at a base station. This analytical study, represents the size of video which affects the bandwidth and time. These networks now support a wide range of applications. Real-time multimedia applications have rigorous requirements for one-to-one delay loss during network transport. The objective of this paper is to use classification of the block matching algorithms and an evolutionary criteria for video compression . Finally, a detailed study has been made on comparison of various algorithms that have been implemented for video compression along with advantages and disadvantages they face.

Directional sensor Network (DSNs) being a subdivision of WSN has attracted researchers a lot due to its wide deployment in visual monitoring applications as the continuous technical advancements have enabled us making use of low-cost camera sensors. But because of the inherent random deployment of these camera sensors, the effective area coverage is reduced. Therefore, the effective area coverage of the network must be enhanced; which can be achieved either by enabling mobility among the nodes or by exploiting motility of the nodes. In this work, a clustering-based scheme has been proposed which re-orient the Field-of-View (FoV) of the nodes to adjust them accordingly with an objective of improving the total area coverage. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated against a renowned scheme Face-Away using two metrics viz. Object-Detection Capability and Effective Coverage Area; and, the results have proved the supremacy of proposed scheme over the Face Away.

In wireless sensor network (WSN), energy efficiency is a one of the important consequence in smart space and extreme environments and it has a vast variety of applications. The cluster head based communication protocols play an important role for energy saving in hierarchical WSN. In most of the clustering algorithms, a cluster head (CH) will transmit a data to the sink node. This type of technique has become a traditional way to optimize energy in WSN. This paper proposes a new Synchronous transit algorithm named Ridge Method Cluster head Selection (RMCHS), which selects efficient cluster heads (CHs) to the sensor network. To consider uniformity of CHs to balance clusters, RMCHS uses a new Synchronous transit algorithm. Comparisons with well know LEACH protocols, it show's obvious better performance of RMCHS in term of residual energy, throughput, alive nodes and dead nodes.

With recent advancements of Information and Communication technologies (ICT), Internet of things (IoT) development has just started creating a significant value across people, processes and organizations. There are numbers of applications across energy, transportation and public safety sectors that have linked with economic growth in GDP and therefore, governments are taking serious actions to enhance ICT and IoT penetration across their countries and achieve economies of scale. In future, it can be easily anticipated to meet growing demand, IoT applications scale will reach to millions of sensor devices in a few sq. kilometers area in order to transform traditional cities towards smart cities and accommodate the urbanization pressures. With the growing demand of data hungry devices and deployment of millions of sensors in a certain place will eventually increase size of information and data transmission flow through the sensor devices itself and infrastructure network nodes and then millions of IP addresses will be needed to provide connectivity. Wireless sensor Networks implementation under internet of things context likely to approach limitations of network bandwidth availability and the cost of IoT infrastructure will be extremely high if dedicated network resources deployed therefore this paper proposed the innovative architecture using Software Defined Networks (SDN) to provide on demand and efficient network resources for low power wireless personal area network (6LowPAN) devices. This proposed architecture model will also strengthen the applications of IoT in either side i.e. control and monitoring.

The force feedback absence in minimally invasive surgeries (MIS) is a chronic problem. The main obstacle is the intensive magnetic resonance (MR) influence on traditional electronic signals. This paper proposes a miniature and MR compatible optical force sensor based on Fabry-Perot interference (FPI) principle and interferometric-intensity modulation method. The FPI sensor, with 400μm outer diameter, is embedded in the tip of a rigid puncture needle with 1.0mm inner diameter. The sensor is simulated and fabricated, followed by signal processing using Fourier and wavelet transform analysis. Calibration results at 20 °C show that the force sensing range and resolution are 0-5N and 0.1N, respectively. Silicon rubber skin phantom insertion experiments suggest that the FPI sensor could identify clearly the type of tissues during the insertion and extraction procedure.

This paper addresses the development processes of a 3-DOF force sensor for Human-Robot Interaction applications. From Human-Robot Interaction standpoint, the force sensor should have the ability to be easily attached to a robot end-effector and provides the applied force vector's components, including amount and direction. The proposed force sensor uses load cells to identify the amount of applied force in each direction independently which makes it more suitable for Human-Robot Interaction purposes. This paper also proposes a novel calibration setup to excite force sensors in all directions accurately. Once the output data of load cell of the force sensor is gathered, an experimental identification procedure based on Least Square method is applied in order to identify the output model of the sensor. Accomplishing the development process, a force sensor is produced with a reasonable precision of 0.1N in x and y-axes and 0.2N in z-axis, within a range of 5N which is suitable for Human-Robot Interaction applications.
