Skin hydration prediction and sunburn detection are vital aspects of skin health monitoring, contributing to proactive skin care practices and prevention of potential skin damage. sensors play a vital role in data capturing. Despite the availability of numerous sensors and smartphone applications that offer detailed information on skin health monitoring, these solutions are frequently associated with significant time consumption and high costs. As the requirement for predicting accurate results grows, the need for a larger number of records also increases, leading to computational expenses. To overcome these constraints, a streamlined approach was adopted by utilizing only two sensors: Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) for skin conductance and DHT11 for temperature and humidity. Additionally, the Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) algorithm was employed, which offers the advantage of not being dependent on the number of records. This combination of a minimal sensor setup and an efficient algorithm enables effective and cost-efficient skin health monitoring by providing real-time results without compromising on the accuracy. Furthermore, the system incorporates the prediction of sunburn and calculation of vitamin D intake, a crucial aspect for maintaining optimal skin health. By providing vitamin D intake in international units, this study introduces a simplified and efficient method for generating this valuable output. This research contributes to advancing skincare practices and dermatological interventions, enabling proactive measures to mitigate the risk of sunburn and promote optimal skin health. Finally the proposed methodology exhibits promising potential for widespread adoption and future enhancements in the field of skin health monitoring. © 2023 IEEE.

This research presents the development of a portable arm rehabilitation device designed to continuously monitor and enhance rehabilitation activities. The device incorporates flex sensors, force-sensitive resistors, and accelerometers interfaced with an ESP32 microcontroller to collect data on arm movements. This data is crucial for therapists to fine-tune treatment plans and provide patients with an effective home-based rehabilitation solution. Recent findings have shown the potential of home-based rehabilitation, yet existing technologies are often costly and complex to operate independently. The device aims to bridge this gap by offering a user-friendly and affordable solution. The system integrates various sensors, including flex sensors, force-sensitive resistors, and accelerometers, which are interfaced with an Arduino microcontroller. These sensors capture data related to arm movements, which is essential for therapists to tailor treatment plans and for patients to track their progress. The device aims to bridge the gap between costly and complex rehabilitation technologies and the need for accessible, home-based solutions. The study's novelty lies in its integration of sensor technology into a smart glove and its commitment to providing an affordable and effective rehabilitation solution. The continuous monitoring capabilities of the device offer valuable insights into patients' progress, improving the quality of rehabilitation programs. This work aligns with recent advancements in wearable technology and sensor systems for healthcare applications, emphasizing the importance of accessible rehabilitation solutions. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet is overwhelmed with innovative IoT -assisted devices. It is predicted that the number of online-connected devices will be more than 50 billion in 2030. Such IoT devices would need support from enabling technologies to consume less memory and lower the computation cost. The cloud-based services might further increase point-to-point latency. The unprecedentedly high volumes of real-time data generated by IoT devices may suffer from this delay issue. This work proposes a novel cognitive Fog computing-based data processing approach that manages the data influx caused by the sensor devices at the edge router. The proposed cognitive Fog based architecture has empowered edge devices, with the features such as Location awareness, low latency, portability, proximity to end users, diversity, and real-time response. A scalable resource allocation with a dynamic queuing technique was proposed. The simulation results have shown that the proposed architecture boosts the performance of the IoT Fog-based applications more than the existing approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

This article proposes a sophisticated, secure-edge Internet-of-Things (IoT) architecture for monitoring catastrophes. This article focuses on developing a LoRa-based catastrophe monitoring system incorporating an avalanche detection system, a fire detection module, and an accelerator-based earthquake detector. The system aims to provide real-time monitoring and early warning capabilities for potential disasters such as fires, earthquakes, and avalanches. The system has an auxiliary vital sign measurement system for wearable applications in snowy terrains. The system can detect potential disasters and issue timely warnings by continuously monitoring environmental parameters and observing an individual's vitals. LoRa technology is commendable for its long-range, low-power capabilities. Employing LoRa allows the system to transmit data over long distances with minimal power consumption, allowing for extended battery life and reduced maintenance requirements. By promptly detecting and reporting these natural disasters, the system can help mitigate their impact, save lives, and facilitate faster response and recovery efforts. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, wireless sensor network has been widely used to automatically collect the field ecological environment and observation data, so that researchers can analyze the natural changes of the field ecological environment through the huge amount of data. In this study, biological observation data are transmitted back to the cloud server through wireless communication network, and new wireless communication technologies are developed to improve the data transmission mechanism and overcome the difficulties of remote wireless communication in field areas. In addition, the data transmission efficiency is improved to ensure that the data is successfully transmitted back to the server in real time and quickly, so that the observers do not need to go to the tracking target trap location to read the observation related data. © 2022 IEEE.
