Multi sensor data fusion is the process of deriving more accurate, consistent and useful information by integrating data from multiple sensors than that can be achieved using individual sensor. Conventional methods for data fusion require complex models with computationally expensive methods. This paper proposes a deep neural network based method for multi sensor data fusion using detections from both Radar and IFF sensors. A deep learning based Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) model is used for data fusion. LSTM models overcome the problem of exploding and vanishing gradients present in Recurrent Neural Networks. Bi-directional LSTM is used for forming tracks from sensor observations using proposed association. The proposed fusion system architecture can be extended to sensors other than Radar and IFF also. The tracks generated by using detections from both sensors are closer to ground truth than tracks generated from individual sensors. Data fusion from multiple sensors improves the accuracy of a wide range of applications such as target tracking and battlefield surveillance. © 2022 IEEE.

The detection of partial discharge is crucial for the safe operation of the power grid. Current live detection technologies are ineffective at detecting intermittent partial discharge signals, and online monitoring systems are not widely adopted due to high costs. This paper presents the development of a flexible deployment long-term partial discharge monitoring device that enables rapid deployment, full-station coverage, continuous data collection, and remote control capabilities. The device consists of digital sensors, a digital frequency synchronization unit, a power supply and communication unit, and an analysis and diagnostic backend. It receives, analyzes, and diagnoses partial discharge signals, and uses an integrated 4G communication module to display monitoring data and diagnostic results via the cloud. © 2024 The Authors.

This publication presents a review of the application of large databases (Big Data) in medicine. The aim of the work is to provide some positive guidelines for the optimization of health care and improvement of patient care in Bulgaria. Therefore, the article discusses designed applications that can find their place in various fields of medicine. Our proposed optimization is the introduction of electronic chip cards. The development assumes that each patient will be provided with a processor card carrying information about basic data related to the condition and its personalization and possible access to this data when necessary. Thus, the proposed solution provides an opportunity to upgrade (for the future) and build an information system with a connection to the health fund. In addition, an early-stage project is described to integrate data from personal portable devices with the electronic health record, thereby providing information to medical personnel about the individual's health status. Portable personal devices and other non-medical equipment generate a huge, almost continuous flow of data that can be useful in making decisions regarding the treatment of patients with various health conditions. The applications described are a continuation of the team's previous developments. © 2023 IEEE.

Currently, wide band radio frequency sensor based technology is gaining momentum for primitive stage breast cancer detection. The most promising instrument to replace or supplement the present X-ray mammography for cancer detection is the rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA) sensor. In this research work, a RDRA is proposed as key sensor part which leads to design of smart data acquisition system for breast cancer. Presented design resonates in Lower European frequency band providing impedance bandwidth of 48% for frequency range of 2.9-4.7 GHz. Consequently, the peak gain of 4dB was obtained through proposed RDRA antenna. High radiation efficiency, compact size of the antenna makes it perfectly suitable to be employed as a sensor for early cancer detection. Compare to conventional antenna this RDRA sensor provide better feature with cancer tissue detection with accuracy and improve image resolution. Proposed antenna can be integrated with wide band wireless communication for Wi-Fi and LTE communication, Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN) and Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) applications. © 2022 IEEE.

Digitalization is advancing with rapid developments in farm technologies, which has the potential to revolutionize dairy production and to improve its long-term sustainability. Farmers are increasingly using sensors and other technologies that monitor various parameters on their farms. Large amounts of data are collected, but just a small fraction is currently used along the dairy value chain. This has motivated the international Committee of Animal Recording (ICAR) and the international Dairy Federation (IDF) to start a joint initiative aiming at providing guidelines and best practices for using data from sensors across systems and applications, with a focus on functional traits such as health and animal welfare. The key partners are the ICAR Functional Traits Working Group and the IDF Standing Committee of Animal Health and Welfare who have formed a network of representatives from various stakeholders and leading scientists. Research and approaches to improve the usability of data are discussed to promote knowledge transfer and practical implementation in the dairy industry. Experiences and best practices are exchanged, and recommendations for the use of sensor data are being elaborated. The results will be broadly disseminated through ICAR and IDF avenues. Furthermore, the collaboration among multidisciplinary experts is enabling a holistic approach to the current challenges faced by the worldwide dairy industry and will facilitate cutting-edge research and innovation. The initiative will be presented, with a progress report on reference standards, harmonized definitions, and terminology, as well as recommendations and best practices regarding data cleaning and editing and definition of novel traits using data from sensor technologies in herd management and genetic evaluations. © 2024 11th European conference on Precision Livestock Farming. Today, pressure sensors occupy the largest market segment in microsystem devices. This is because of their wide range of applications in both commercial and industrial applications. The two major players in MEMS pressure sensors are capacitive and piezoresistive types. Capacitive pressure sensors operating in touch mode have a higher linearity and operating range and are therefore more suitable. sensor performance can be further enhanced by etching two back to back traditional touch mode capacitive sensors in one substrate. This paper aims to produce a complete mathematical analysis of the double-sided structure of capacitive pressure sensors using Silicon Carbide-Aluminum Nitride as the primary sensing element. The mathematical analysis bypasses the need for using cumbersome simulation software and gives a fast-analytical technique that can be applied to similar simple designs for modelling. The final MATLAB simulations show a significant improvement in both the sensitivity and capacitance generated on using SiC-AlN over Si-SiO2 for the given design. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to the negative impact of the high energy consumption of street lighting systems that is represented by the high level of CO2 emissions and its consequences on global warming, this paper proposes an adaptive traffic dependent street light dimming system. The presented system adopts the decentralized strategy for unlimited number of light poles. Through this study, an automatic light dimming system is introduced, designed and implemented. In addition, the collected data of load consumed power is analyzed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposal. The offered system overcomes the difficulties of analog light dimming and the short range of RF motion sensor detection by adopting a digital light dimming and offering the ability of using a sensor of short detecting range for a moving car on the street. The presented system can be used with unlimited light poles, in addition to its ability to consider different weather parameters like temperature, humidity and/or dust level for taking the decision of turning the lights ON, OFF or operate them in the dimming state. © 2022 IEEE.

Over the past decades, humidity sensors have been an important sensing component in climate monitoring, agriculture, medical diagnostics and industrial process control systems. With emerging applications such as wearable devices and the internet of things in 5G scenarios, there is a growing demand for accurate humidity measurements, low-cost manufacturing processes for high-volume, high-performance sensors with flexible form factors, and the use of environmentally friendly materials. We present a simple, fast, and cost-effective method for the large-scale fabrication of highly-conductive, all-polymer, and bio-degradable humidity sensors on flexible organic polymer (polyimide) and paper substrates. We investigate the resistive properties of different thicknesses of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophehe) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) on Kapton and paper substrates in response to humidity, demonstrating a 3-8 Omega/square sheet resistance, suitable for all-polymer circuits. A relative resistance variation of 36.3% at levels of relative humidity ranging from 20% to 80% is demonstrated for a pristine sample, along with 1-month ageing tests to investigate the lifetime of the proposed sensor.

Wireless sensor networks are made up of numerous small, resource-constrained sensor nodes that are placed in specific locations for a variety of applications that need long-term, unattended operation. Because sensor nodes have limited energy resources, efficient energy usage is a key design consideration. From the hardware to the network protocol layers, energy efficiency is accomplished. In this series, Node clustering is a practical method for lowering node energy consumption and extending the life of the network. Implementing an energy-efficient cluster-based protocol is becoming important for WSNs to prolong network life. This paper introduces an improved energy efficient clustering method to reduce energy utilization. We propose LEEC i.e., improved Linear Energy Efficient clustering routing protocol which is based on energy, node connectivity and buffer size of the different employed nodes in network. The energy focused QoS criteria are chosen in this context to assess performance. We compare our work to earlier methods to support the proposed work, and the findings show that the suggested mechanism is very successful at clustering in WSNs. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Marine monitoring can be improved by Internet of Things (IoT) technology, helping to preserve ocean health and biodiversity. It describes IoT applications in maritime monitoring to protect marine ecosystems. Real-time data collected from IoT devices and sensor networks allow accurate monitoring of marine factors such as water quality, salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen levels, and fertilizer concentrations. These sensors provide data to centralized platforms for quick analysis and informed marine conservation decisions. IoT is used in maritime monitoring for species tracking. IoT-enabled tags and satellite systems help detect marine animals' moving routes, breeding sites, and places sensitive to human disruptions. This data supports conservation planning. IoT also detects and mitigates marine ecological hazards. IoT-enabled smart boats and underwater drones monitor pollution, oil spills, and invasive plants and animals. Anomalies may prompt alerts and automatic solutions, solving environmental issues quickly. These technologies enable enhanced data analysis, predictive modeling, and ecological disturbance early-warning systems. Decision-makers may prevent permanent damage by predicting dangerous algal blooms, coral bleaching, and other ecological disturbances. IoT applications provide real-time data collecting, species monitoring, and environmental hazard identification, supporting sustainable practices and protecting the planet's most vital ecosystems. © 2023 IEEE.
