This paper is focused on an environment mapping application using Lego Mindstorms. The main goal is to create a program for a robot that will be able to solve problems of movement and mapping in an unknown environment. We chose Java and the Eclipse programming environment as the programming language. Simple mazes in the shape of a rectangle and the letters C were created for the mapping of the environment by the robot. We used an ultrasonic and infrared sensor for sensing the environment. In the end, we present a comparison and the results of measurements of both sensors when mapping the environment.
