One of the major aspects for sensing solutions across diverse applications, is the demand associated with better lifetime of sensor nodes. This can be resolved using energy optimization of these nodes in Wireless sensor Network (WSN). The energy consumption level for certain nodes may not be the same and therefore, it may die earlier than its expectation. In WSN, the critical challenge lies in efficiently managing the finite energy resources of sensor nodes to ensure prolonged network operation and transmission success. In this paper, we present a dynamic cluster head replacement algorithm (DCHR) that calculates a threshold value in determining the number of rounds for a particular sensor as active cluster head (CH). This depends on the remaining energy left with the battery of that particular node. This algorithm helps in reduction of energy consumption during next replacement of CH and ultimately results in overall lifetime of WSN.

Wireless sensor network has shown a tremendous multifold growth in terms of applications in multiple domains. These domains are with quite continuous execution in nature. The survival time of the sensor-node’s (SN) exist in WSN acts a crucial role in making the monitoring or sensing of the entire applications. In recent days the survival-time of the mote (SN) in WSN seems to be the hot research topic for most of the researchers, so in order to increase the survival time of WSN, the selection of cluster-head (CH) is essential one corresponding to clustering techniques. The cluster model of the WSN helps for grouping the sensor nodes into various sub groups. These subgroups are packed with either fixed or random number of sensor nodes. Though the architecture pattern of these clusters differed based on the implementations, the filtering and selection of cluster head (CH) is a challenging task that plays as an intermediate effective node to receive the data’s & transmitting it to the base station (BS). The Preference of CH takes place with the nature or ability of sensor nodes with all aspects respect to reception and transmission of data effectively from the entire clusters. Based on these preference nature particular sensor node will be nominated as CH. This paper proposes a Preference based nomination of CH that would be compared with the existing algorithm and proves better in performance in terms of network lifetime.

This study presents the design, fabrication, and evaluation of a cost-effective paper-based flexible sensor for wearable applications, specifically motion detection. Utilizing filter paper as a substrate, the sensor is coated with graphite for conductivity and enhanced with sodium chloride (NaCl) to boost ionic dissociation and sensitivity. The fabrication process employs low-cost and sustainable materials and methods, yielding a sensor with high responsiveness, repeatability, and durability. Comparative analysis with commercial silicon-based sensors demonstrates the paper sensor’s superior sensitivity to small angular changes, albeit with slightly lower stability. Optimal dimensions of $6 \mathbf{c m} \times 1 \mathrm{~cm}$ are identified by balancing sensitivity and mechanical stability. Integration with a microcontroller facilitates real-time data acquisition, showcasing the potential of assistive devices, gesture recognition, and healthcare monitoring. This work highlights the feasibility of paper-based sensors as accessible alternatives to conventional silicon-based technologies, aligning with environmental sustainability goals, and cost-effectiveness.
