This article analyses the physical basis and registration principles of mutual information registration and proposes a mutual information measure using differential image entropy. It compares the mutual information measure of a variety of representative medical examination CT images and uses the neighbourhood the information improves the mutual information of poor medical examination images. The test results show that the mutual information measurement combined with airspace information has better noise resistance. © 2023 IEEE.

Patients in severe condition are treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). In such life-or-death situations, doctors must have continuous access to vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature. What's the deal with asthma, the planet, and salt levels? The manual process is excessively time- consuming, and when applied to a large number of patients, it becomes nearly impossible. This internet of Things-based technology has the potential to implement automated network communication with medical professionals, keeping them fully informed at all times. The sensors in the ICU monitoring system for the internet of Things ( IoT ) are controlled by an Arduino board. Networked sensors, either worn by the patient or installed in our homes, alter the inductive data collection of our physiological and mental states. A patient may be tracked around-the-clock with a smart health monitoring system based on the internet of Things ( IoT ). One of the most noticeable uses of the internet of Things in the present day is in health monitoring systems. In this research, the AD8232 signal conditioning module was presented as the basis for a wireless ECG monitoring system capable of collecting data in real time. The ESP32 will be linked up to the AD8232 ECG Sensor. Then, we'll get an Electrocardiogram (ECG) reading by attaching the leads to the patient's chest or hand. The measured value exceeded the set limit of the sensor. Users of this module of the healthcare system should expect to get an updated prescription for their current medical condition within minutes of any significant change in their health status. Doctors are informed of their patients' conditions on an LCD screen, which they may then use for further assessment. When a patient requires a hospital's Intensive Care Unit, a smart ICU may be used to keep tabs on vital signs including oxygen levels, heart rates, body temperatures and more. © 2023 IEEE.

Embedded detection systems are a critical research topic in intelligent monitoring equipment. In response to the current challenges in balancing real-time performance, accuracy, and stability in embedded hardware detection systems, this paper proposes a software architecture system based on multi-core digital signal processing (DSP), incorporating the image detection Canny algorithm into this system. Initially, the paper discusses the selection criteria for multi-core DSPs and then introduces a multi-core self-check function that can effectively ensure system stability. It also proposes a multi-core communication handshake protocol that significantly enhances the system's real-time performance. Furthermore, an improved multi-core master-slave architecture is presented, which includes the addition of a timer to the conventional architecture, providing a temporal guarantee for system operation. Finally, the Canny algorithm is selected and applied to this software architecture, with parallel acceleration processing applied to parts of the algorithm. Operational tests have demonstrated that the system maintains stable internal data flow, with its detection accuracy and speed meeting the set requirements. © 2024 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Within the realm of electric power, the empirical testing and detection operations encountered formidable issues encompassing a paucity of automation in experimental equipment, a pronounced degree of signal heterogeneity among sensors, limited resource management and sharing, and a dearth of sophistication. In the context of image data, grounded in the principles of projection and inclination, we have proffered a technological solution for processing the content within measurement experiments. We have devised hand-held devices that adeptly deconstruct experimental image data, harnessing a spectrum of algorithms and optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities to facilitate the extraction of invaluable insights from image-based experimental data. © 2023 ACM.

Recently, more and more images are transmitted to the receiver for the machine analysis tasks instead of purely for the human-vision task. However, most current machine-type semantic communication systems are optimized towards a specific task or a given set of tasks, without considering the scalability to new tasks. In this work, we propose a preprocessing enhanced image semantic communication system to address this challenge. Instead of optimizing directly towards a specific task, our system first optimizes a neural codec for preserving the holistic image information under the trade-off between bandwidth and distortion. Then, we reveal that the performance drop on the primary task can be ascribed to a lack of generalization of the task head to images with overall artifacts caused by compression and noisy channels. Accordingly, by finetuning a preprocessing module based on the pretrained neural codec under the trade-off between task accuracy and distortion, most loss on the primary task accuracy can be recovered with a trivial degradation on distortion, in this way, the task-scalable ability can also be preserved well due to the high quality on the holistic image. Experiments verify the effectiveness of our method in driving the primary task and the scalability to new tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

Underwater image enhancement is crucial for marine engineering and aquatic robotics. However, most recent methods have focused on ocean environments, where they trained and tested on oceanic images. As a result, these methods are less effective in river water, where relatively blurry images are produced due to extensive muddy environments. In river water-based image restoration, we have observed two main limitations: (1) the lack of datasets that accurately represent the muddy water conditions found in river environments and (2) the limited effectiveness of current enhancement models in dealing with the unique challenges of muddy water images. To address these limitations, we introduce the "River-GEM" framework, which includes (1) a dataset of highly degraded muddy water images generated using a principle component analysis-based fusion technique and (2) a novel enhancement model utilizing the depth-map guidance to learn complex contextual details of muddy water images. The proposed model captures the intricate details of the objects in degraded images by analyzing feature correlation at multiple scales. Our model shows improvements of 3.42% in SSIM and 5.04% in PSNR over existing methods on the muddy-UIEB dataset. In recent years, respiration sensing has flourished. However, most existing solutions are based on Wi-Fi signals, suitable for single-target scenarios, and are limited in sensing distance due to noise interference. Compared to Wi-Fi systems, cell-free millimeter-wave systems have advantages such as large bandwidth, better security, and stronger stability, enabling finer-grained respiration sensing. Therefore, we proposed a multi-target respiration sensing method based on cell-free millimeter-wave system. First, we use the Extensive Cancellation Algorithm (ECA) to extract static signals. By leveraging the time-invariant property of static signals, we compensate for the asynchronous clocks of the transceivers without compromising the linear property of the received signal. For multi-target scenarios, we decompose the received signal in the subcarrier domain using Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and demonstrate the feasibility of this approach. Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a wider sensing coverage when only one pair of transceiver nodes is used, up to a maximum sensing distance of 20 meters with a relative error limit of 10%. When limited to the same absolute error constraint (0.5 bpm), the proposed scheme achieves about 40% improvement in sensing range compared to other sensing schemes. © 2024 IEEE.

Digital watermarking of interactive media content has become an active experimentation field in recent years. In addition to reviewing some of the methods that have been developed for various media types;a general structure for watermark engrafting and identification is outlined. We highlight a few of these application-oriented differences, including copyright protection, substantiation, tamper identification, and data hiding, as well as the technological and system conditions for different media types such as digital photos, digital files, digital audio, and text. We describe a general structure for digital watermarking-based image copyright protection in this approach. In this paper, we outline the pre-processing and implementation of tide marking technique where Twofish algorithm and double encryption is described. The image processing toolbox is also specified by comparing five different image processing techniques. In addition, the post implementation is carried out with the wavelet toolbox and matlab coder to analyze signal, image properties and generate the efficient code for embedding the text. © 2024 IEEE.

A large number of patient images are generated every day in medical applications such as ultrasound, Computer Tomography scans, X-Ray, and so on. Medical data is related to patient privacy and personal rights. Thus, the security and privacy of medical images become an important issue. In order to comply with the regulations of the Personal Data Protection Act, medical images need to be protected under a secure method. Therefore, we proposed a secure storage method for chest X-Ray images from Kaggle based on blockchain technology. We developed a smart contract to control role-based access permissions and authenticate medical images. We performed a cryptographic operation on the X-Ray image after each medical examination and stored the image fingerprint in the blockchain. Artificial intelligence was used to identify pneumonia-related diseases. We compared the required X-Ray retrieval time with the conventional PACS systems. The experimental results showed that the overhead of the proposed scheme using blockchain was only about 5 %. © 2023 IEEE.

image steganography requires balancing high fidelity, security, and imperceptibility when embedding secret information into cover images. Effective pre-processing and advanced deep learning models are essential for achieving these goals. In this study, we propose an enhanced image steganography framework that combines optimal preprocessing techniques with advanced deep learning-based models to achieve secure, high-quality image embedding. We first evaluate five distinct pre-processing methods-CLAHE, Bilateral Filtering, Gaussian Filtering, Median Filtering, and Laplacian Filtering-on cover images to determine their impact on performance metrics, including Mean Squared Error (MSE), Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), Peak signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), and Normalized Cross-Correlation (NCC). Among these techniques, Bilateral Filtering demonstrated superior results with the lowest MSE (58.78), highest PSNR (30.44 dB), and near-perfect SSIM (0.948) and NCC (0.988), making it the optimal pre-processing method for steganography. Following pre-processing, two steganography models were implemented and compared: a simple concatenation-based model and a novel Hybrid U-Encoder Network inspired by U-Net architecture. The Hybrid U-Encoder Network was designed to enhance the embedding and extraction process of secret images. Comparative analysis using MSE, PSNR, and SSIM showed that the Hybrid U-Encoder Network outperformed the concatenation-based model, achieving a lower MSE of 71.55, PSNR of 58.62 dB, and SSIM of 0.982. This research highlights the importance of effective pre-processing in improving the steganography process and demonstrates the advantage of using a Hybrid U-Encoder Network for embedding secret information.
