This research demonstrates a completely automated sub-second fast technique for left ventricle (LV) segmentation from clinical cardiac MRI images for the crucial assessment of left ventricular dysfunction as a measure of cardiac diseases. In this work left ventricle segmentation is achieved using the combination of fuzzy c-means which is a pixel based classification method and connected component labeling. This strategic combination obviates user intervention and problem of seed point initialization as it automatically segments the LV accurately on all frames in the complete cardiac cycle in multi-frame MRI. The both methods complement each other such that it achieves sub-second fast computational speed of 0.7 seconds on average per frame. Thus this technique's computational time for left ventricle segmentation is much faster than iteration based methods. The accuracy of the automatic segmentation technique was tested against manual segmentation on the basis of correlation coefficient. The value of correlation coefficient between the automatic and manually traced LV boundaries was 0.932 which can be considered clinically significant.

It is an important part in aluminum electrolysis production to control the anode effect (AE). Since there are some shortcomings in traditional methods of anode effect prediction in aluminum electrolysis, this paper combined two methods, the slope of cell resistance and learning vector quantization (LVQ) neural network, to predict anode effect. First of all, the first prediction of anode effect will be conducted based on the slope of cell resistance. Afterwards, the inaccurate data are supposed to be re-predicted. The second prediction consists of two steps, one is to estimate the power spectrum from the signal of cell resistance by means of periodogram, the other is to re-predict the anode effect with the LVQ neural network, since the energy of frequency bands are served as the input feature variables of neural network, so as to raise the accuracy of prediction. It turned out that the success rate of ten-minute in advance prediction for anode effect can be above 85%, though just cell resistance signal is studied.

In credible evolution of internet, Digital devices and communication channels lead to an enormous increase in data leading to demand of Data security systems. image stenography is the technique to hide data inside an image. This paper proposes a message dependent image stenography technique for concealing information into a cover image. Arnold transform is used with 24-bit key insertion before Haar Wavelet Transform based compression of message signal ensuring the security of the message from the untrusted third party. Then based on the statistical features and Payload efficiency decided by the user, the technique finds the adequate coefficients from cover image maintaining the high visual quality for the image. Experimental results show that the technique works better for payload less than 50% as the PSNR for SO images were found to be 42.75dB. Higher the payload lowers the quality of staego image obtained.

With the design of data communications in mind, 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile network is now considered as the most promising technology for internet of EveryThings (IoE). The IoE incorporates four pillars: people, process, data, and things. The pillars interact in a way that establishes three main connections in the IoE environment: people communicate with people (P2P), machines communicate with people (M2P), and machines communicate with machines (M2M). In order to accommodate the increased demand for P2P connections called Human-to-Human (H2H) data services, LTE packet scheduling (PS) algorithm aims to optimize system's performance and users quality of service (QoS) requirements by following specific policies. PS algorithm is responsible for the allocation of shared radio resources among mobile user equipment (UE). In this paper we focus on how LTE will handle the H2H connections and we propose a new packet scheduling algorithm for LTE Downlink called Decoupled-level with QoS-Aware (DLQA). Our proposed scheduling algorithm makes decisions based on two decoupled levels and QoS needs. Finally, we show, through simulation results that our proposed algorithm optimizes well system's performance and user's QoS requirements compared to competing well-known scheduling algorithms.

With the advancement of technology, improving the dynamic range of the monitor screen has become an urgent matter. Because the dynamic range of surveillance cameras is much lower in comparison to what is actually happening in the real-world, they tend to miss out some important information. Current surveillance systems often rely on automatic exposure control to obtain images, hence the images are dark and unclear at night. In order to make the images brighter and clearer at night, it is necessary for surveillance cameras to proceed with long exposure time during shooting, but this will lead to moving objects blurring. Thus, the existing image exposure fusion technology can not solve this problem. Therefore, we propose a novel image exposure fusion algorithm that uses block-based edge strength to find the optimal blocks from two differently exposed images. After that, a high dynamic range image is fused from these blocks. Finally, our approach possesses lower computing complexity, memory requirements and high image quality such that it is suitable for implementation in a generally embedded platform.

In recent years Compressed Sensing (CS) has drawn quite an amount of attention as novel digital signal sampling theory when the signal is sparse in some domain. However, signal recovery from compressed measurement data has always been challenging due to its implicit ill-posed nature. In this paper we will propose an improved CS image recovery algorithm by intra prediction method based on block-based CS image framework. The current block is firstly predicted by its neighbor pixels, and then its prediction residual is recovered. The performance of our proposed CS image recovery algorithm is superior to the traditional CS recovery algorithm because the sparsity level of prediction residual is higher than its original image block. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the traditional CS image recovery algorithm and achieve by far 2dB gain in PSNR. Copyright 2014 ACM.

Over the last few years, development of internet and technology of media, the protection of copyright have become very important. To protect multimedia data against illegal copying and transferring, the insertion of a signal (digital signature, watermark) has become a duty without modifying quality of the original image, the goal of this operation is to identify the owner and protect his intellectual property. Digital watermarking has been proposed as a solution to solving the copyright problem by introducing invisible data (watermark) into original image. In this paper, we propose a study of digital images watermarking. This study is achieved by inserting watermark in different coefficients of DWT (LH, HL, HH) using SVD transform by searching the optimal block that have the maximum entropy which can be used to insert the watermark in original image. The experimental results show the different results of PSNR for each coefficient of DWT and the robustness against most attacks.

As the exchange of data over the open networks and internet is rapidly growing, security of the data becomes a major concern. One possible solution to this problem is to encrypt the data. The data can be text, image, audio, video etc.. In today's world most of the multimedia applications involve images. Earlier image encryption techniques like AES, DES, RSA etc. exhibit low levels of security and also weak anti attack ability. This problem was overcome by using chaos based cryptography. The chaotic systems are very sensitive to initial conditions and control parameters which make them suitable for image encryption. Many works have been done in the field of chaos based image encryption. In this survey paper an attempt has been made to review the aspects and approaches of the design used for image encryption.

In the present paper we have focused our efforts in de-noising/despeckling methods for ultrasound images based on a novel multi - transducer architecture. Frequency compounding schemes have been implemented and tested in two different images and the results are compared with the state of the art software based methods for ultrasound image despeckling. signal - to - noise ratio, SNR, peak - signal - to noise ratio, PSNR, mean square error, MSE, and the mutual information measures were used to assess the performance of each method. Furthermore, a general scheme for ultrasound image processing based on the notion of superesolution technique that combines multiple low resolution, LR, images of the same scene to produce one high resolution, HR, image, used in camera technology, is proposed. The nature of the system's architecture has made possible the use of simple but effective compounding techniques for speckle reduction while at the same time superesolution approach may produce ultrasound images of better quality and higher resolution. Last but not least, the article provides an insight to the major problems and drawbacks of ultrasound imaging systems and how the proposed architecture is capable of effectively dealing with these problems.
