As one of the most robust local invariant feature descriptors, SIFT has been widely used in assorted computer vision and pattern recognition applications. Most traditional image classification systems depend on the gray-based SIFT descriptors, which only calculate the gray layer variations of the images. However, the ignorance of the color information may lead to misclassification of images. In this article, we concentrate primarily on improving the performance of existing image classification algorithms by supplying color information. To accomplish this purpose, various kinds of colored SIFT descriptors were introduced and implemented. Localized soft-assignment coding (LSC), a state-of-the-art sparse coding algorithm, was employed to build a novel image classification system. Real experiments on several benchmarks show that, with the enhancements of color information, the proposed method obtains more than 1% improvement of classification accuracy on the Caltech-101 dataset and approximate 3% improvement of classification accuracy on the Caltech-256 dataset. This paper presents a method for two-hand pose recognition based on skeleton information, aiming at the problem of low recognition rate and poor robustness in the field of human-computer interaction by single hand. This method consists of two steps: two-hand positional information extraction and gesture recognition. In the first step, we utilize the Kinect depth image to acquire the position of both hands. The second step is the highlight of the proposed method, it locates the palms by hand nodes, extracts the right hand movement information which is trained by a Hidden Markov Model. This method has been verified by a experimental car control system and demonstrated good robustness in complex background environment.

image dehazing aims at estimating the image information lost caused by the presence of fog, haze and smoke in the scene during acquisition. Degradation causes a loss in contrast and color information, thus enhancement becomes an inevitable task in imaging applications and consumer photography. Color information has been mostly evaluated perceptually along with quality, but no work adresses specifically this aspect. We demonstrate how dehazing model affects color information on simulated and real images. We use a convergence model from perception of transparency to simulate haze on images. We evaluate color loss in terms of angle of hue in IPT color space, saturation in CIE LUV color space and perceived color difference in CIE LAB color space. Results indicate that saturation is critically changed and hue is changed for achromatic colors and blue/yellow colors, where usual image processing space are not showing constant hue lines. We suggest that a correction model based on color transparency perception could help to retrieve color information as an additive layer on dehazing algorithms.

Medical services have a great importance in international development. Hospitals have been forced to reinforce their health services and technological infrastructure developments because of the rapid development of information technology. Liver segmentation is a difficult task because of its variable shape it can be thought as a large footprint. In addition, the nearness of its color and texture to surrounding organs tissues makes its boundaries unclear. In this study, computed tomography images have been used to segment the liver that was the first part of the lesion liver detection. Obtained liver segmentation result achievements have been compared with the manual segmentation of the radiologists. Segmentation accuracies have been assessed by using Zijdenbos similarity index. The applied methodology achieved approximately 93% segmentation accuracy. After liver segmentation stage, this segmentation procedure is located on mobile environment that medical experts can access the software with their mobile devices. This is the first part of the ongoing decision support system study that can be used to define diagnostic lesions on the liver via android-based mobile devices.
