Digital data transmitted through the internet can be copied and can be used in malicious ways. This may cause problems referring to the protection of intellectual rights and the integrity of the transmitted information. Watermarking has emerged as a new technology to resolve these problems, providing both copyright claiming mechanisms and integrity verification tools. A novel image authentication technique is proposed in this paper in which both discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and chaotic principle are combined effectively. The watermark is embedded using Haar wavelet transform and the cross chaotic map is generated by combining the non-periodical and non-convergence properties of Henon map and Arnolds Cat map. The map is run for a couple of iterations to generate a chaotic sequence, and the pixels of the watermarked image are encrypted with these sequences. The method proposed is efficient, fast and highly secure that can be used for digital data transmission.

Catadioptric panoramic vision systems have been widely used in many fields because of their advantages such as a wide field of view, integrated imaging, and rotational symmetry. They also play a very important role in the monitoring of unmanned platforms. However, the resolution of catadioptric panoramic vision systems is not very high, usually less than 5 million pixels at present. Even if the resolution is greater than 5 million pixels, the unwrapping and rectification of these images is carried out off-line. Further, the systems are also deployed in a stationary or near-stationary state. This paper proposes an unwrapping and rectification method for a high-resolution catadioptric panoramic vision system that can be used while moving. It can segment dynamic circular mark regions from panoramic videos accurately, determine the center coordinates of circular images in real time, eliminate the processing of unwanted video regions, and shorten the image processing time. In addition, the center coordinates and radius of the circular mark regions are obtained simultaneously so that the image distortion caused by inaccurate center coordinates is reduced. The method uses radial and decentering distortion parameters and a correction factor for fitting a polynomial to rectify the panoramic video without distortion.

This paper presents the hardware system scheme of multi-channel image processing based on DSP, with DSP as the core control of FPGA and CMOS, responsible for the overall scheduling system, using FPGA as coprocessor responsible for the collection of the original image information from CMOS. This paper combines the fisheye lens to obtain the complete original image for panoramic vision and stereo vision requirement. FPGA is used to design the SRAM cache controller based on Ping-pong mechanism. The data exchanging between DSP and FPGA are completed in EDMA model of DSP. Asynchronous FIFO is applied to solve the problem of cross clock domain. Experiments show that the system can be realized in the image data acquisition speed of 45 frames per second and the output of PAL style distortion fisheye image.

Gait recognition is an important task for video surveillance systems. In this paper, we propose a novel gait recognition algorithm based on Contourlet Transform and Collaborative Representation. Contourlet transform is adopted to extract multi-scale and multi-direction features of Gait Energy image (GEI). Then, different from recent works, we use Collaborative Representation based Classification (CRC) instead of Sparse Representation based Classification (SRC) to classify the gait sequences. CRC uses l 2 -norm instead of the expensive l 1 -norm for coefficients regularization, which makes it much more efficient. The experimental results on the benchmark CASIA B gait database demonstrate that our method can get state-of-the-art performance.

This paper presents an approach for face recognition system based on independent component analysis (ICA) and support vector machine(SVM). The ICA is a feature extraction technique for isolating a multivariate signal into additive subcomponents by considering that the hidden components are non-Gaussian signals. It has been mainly used on the problem of blind signal separation, while support vector machine is a very effective tool to classify the objects/faces into the right category. In this paper, a face recognition system was proposed based on these two techniques. Experiments were carried out on ORL, Yale and YaleB face databases. Simulation results reveal that the proposed system using ICA and SVM can achieve a higher recognition rate with the increasing number of face features. The results also show that the SVM using radial basis functions yields a better performance.

This system captures and analyses the growth of crops based on machine vision technology, controlled by the PLC variables and achieve the objective of saving fertilizer, improving economic efficiency and protecting the environment. It uses shape or texture of the crops and background information contained in the image to classify, builds database algorithms, processes the collecting real-time signal by the internal computer and provides a spray flow rate required by the target area of operation, thus achieves variable spray to the target automatically. As a result, the real-time database of the precision agriculture variable spray is created; the system then receives the target spray flow signals on the intelligent platform and variable sprays with an intelligent spray operation platform speed.

This paper introduces a hybrid approach to steganography which is based on the least significant bit substitution. It is a standalone steganographic technique that is focused on reducing the changes in the least significant bits of cover image by finding identical matches between image pixel values and message bits. The two least significant bits of cover image are changed only in case when no identical match is found between them. Hence, it aims to minimize the image degradation factor when message is embedded in cover image to form steganographic image by diminishing the data modification in least significant bits. In order to improve the security of message, the concept of jump table is used, i.e., message is scattered on the blocked image rather than embedding it on continuous pixels which makes extraction a semi-blind process. The proposed algorithm is validated using peak signal to noise ratio, correlation coefficient and structural similarity index matrix.

The two-dimensional images are often insufficient to achieve a perfect diagnosis in the medical area; on the other hand the three-dimensional images allow having an interesting deductive vision and there denoising has become a necessity and an essential need. Many methods have been proposed to reduce noise and to preserve edge, are usually used for 2D images and they have been extended to 3D data. The Non-Local Means filter has become the most popular one for denoising medical images, based on a weighted average of voxels inside a search window. In this work, we present a new method in the field of 3D image denoising based on combination between Non-local Means filters and the diffusion tensor. Our proposed algorithm is to normalize the weight average by adding iteratively an anisotropic diffusion stencil. The performance and efficiency of the algorithm are estimated by calculating various quality metrics and compared with other methods.
