The main drawback of conventional filtering based methods for small dim target (SDT) detection is they could not guarantee sufficient suppression ability towards trivial high frequency component which belongs to background, such as strong corners and edges. To overcome this bottleneck, this paper proposes an effective SDT detection algorithm by using local connectedness constraint. Our method provides direct control for target size, ensure high accuracy and could be easily embedded into the classical sliding-window based framework. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated using images with cluttered background.

Recent research in texture-based ear recognition also indicates that ear detection and texture-based ear recognition are robust against signal degradation and encoding artefacts. based on these findings, we further investigate and compare the performance of texture descriptors for ear recognition and seek to explore possibilities to complement texture descriptors with depth information. On the basis of ear images from visible light and depth maps, we extract texture and surface descriptors. We compare the recognition performance of selected methods for describing texture and surface structure, which are Local Binary Patterns, Local Phase Quantization, Histograms of Oriented Gradients, Binarized Statistical image Features, Shape Context and Curvedness. Secondly we propose a novel histogram-based descriptor that performs feature level fusion by combining two information channels to a new feature vector. Our concept can either be applied for fusing two different texture or two different surface descriptors or to combine texture and depth information. based on the results of the previous experiment, we select the best performing configuration settings for texture and surface representation and use them as an input for our fused feature vectors. We report the performance of different variations of the fused descriptor and compare the behavior of the fused feature vectors with single channel from the first series of experiments.

Photo-acoustic imaging has grown tremendously in the past few years, both in instrumentation and application. Due to its higher penetration, resolution and contrast it is gaining importance as a promising imaging modality. Commercially available transducers are typically bandlimited and thereby limit the frequency range of the received ultrasound signal. One approach is to use multiple bandwidth transducers but doing so increases the cost of the system. A wavelet based frequency interpolation method is proposed in this work. Low frequency band limited transducer is used in the experiments, and the missing high frequency components are estimated using an interpolation algorithm in the wavelet domain. A database of synthetic wideband photoacoustic data is constructed first. This database is then used to estimate the most likely high frequency components of the narrowband test signal. The approach provides better resolution at a low cost. It is shown that the reconstructed image has better resolution than multiple bandwidth transducer approach. This reduces the system complexity and along with compressive sensing techniques a hand held clinical photo-acoustic probe can be built.

In this paper, we propose a novel image search scheme is contextual image search with keyword input. It is different from conventional image search schemes. it consist of three step process, first one is context extraction to distinguish the image entities of the same name, second step is conceptualization to convert context into a list of weighted concepts using wikification. Wikification is process, which links the noun phrases in plain text content to the corresponding articles third step is tri stage image clustering to process the conceptualized contexts. Those three stages are Tag context clustering, Text context clustering and Expansion clustering. Where Tag context clustering clusters with most reliable signal using HAC (Hierarchical Agglomerative Clustering), Text context clustering uses the text content of all images to form the cluster using HAC algorithm and Expansion clustering using inverse document frequency. Finally the web images are clustered. The contextual image search based on keyword system presents a separate interface (e.g., text input box) to allow users to submit a query; this system enables users to find the images based on different name entity images. Though the keyword based contextual image search provides result it doesn't find the duplicate images. Thus the conceptual image search with image input concept is proposed to find the duplicate images. Contextual image search with input image, the users can select an clustered image as the search query from Web pages or other documents they are reading. Using MPEG-7 descriptors to “annotate” an image automatically. Finally it determine the duplicate images on search result.

Steganography is used to establish secure communication between two parties. Steganalysis, the detection of steganography by third party is relatively young discipline. The art and science of steganalysis, is intended to detect hidden information, estimation of hidden message length, and its extraction. Steganalysis has recently received a great deal of attention both from law enforcement and the media. Thus, many scholars have engaged in the field. Recently, the JPEG format attracted the attention of researchers as the main steganographic format. JPEG images are very abundant on the internet bulletin boards and public internet sites. F5 is a steganography algorithm based on frequency domain. It has been widely used because of its high capacity and robustness. It embeds secret data into quantized non-zero DCT coefficients of JPEG image. F5 algorithm uses matrix encoding technique to minimize the number of changes done. The JHRF algorithm is used to unhide the data embedded by F5. In this paper, An JPEG, information hiding algorithm, uses non-overlapping blocks of 16 *16 pixels. By embedding secret information into JPEG image by rules, JHRF can handle larger steganography capacity. It can deal effectively with abnormal data and get better results.

Medical Imaging is currently a hot area of biomedical engineers, researchers and medical doctors as it is extensively used in diagnosing of human health and by health care institutes. The imaging equipment is the device, which is used for better image processing and highlighting the important features. These images are affected with random noise during acquisition, analyzing and transmission process. This results in blurry image visible in low contrast. The image De-noising System (IDs) is used as a tool for removing image noise and preserving important data. image de-noising is one of the most interesting research areas among researchers of technology-giants and academic institutions. For Criminal Identification systems (CIS) & Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), IDs is more beneficial in the field of medical imaging. This paper proposes algorithm for de-noising medical images using different types of wavelet transform, such as Haar, Daubechies, Symlets and Biorthogonal. In this paper noise image quality has been evaluated using filter assessment parameters like Variance, Mean Square Error (MSE) and Peak signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). It has been observed form the numerical results that, the performance of proposed algorithm reduced the mean square error and achieved best value of peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR). In this paper, the wavelet based de-noising algorithm has been investigated on medical images along with threshold.

Binocular rivalry occurs when dichoptic images presented to the two eyes are too dissimilar to be fused. The two images may be perceived alternately. Dichoptic images with luminance discrepancy may appear as a fluctuating silver sheen. The effect is called binocular luster which is a special type of binocular rivalry. Corresponding regions in stereoscopic images with luminance discrepancy may introduce binocular luster. In this paper, our work focuses on the detection model of binocular luster. A psychophysical experiment was conducted to detect the binocular luster thresholds due to binocular luminance discrepancy in different binocular disparities. The luster effect could be introduced into stereoscopic images based on the detection model. In this way, a fluctuating shine effect could be perceived on 3D displays.

It is significantly obvious that English learning requires personally adapting systems. In order to satisfy this need, measuring the degrees of understanding by image tracking is fairly important. This study investigated whether eye tracking could be employed as a measure of the effectiveness of an E-Learning material on reading. Learners' eye fixations were used as a means of noticing. Results showed a relationship between different proficiencies and patterns of fixations. Suggested effects were found for improving reading proficiencies with eye movement trainings. Future possibilities for technological development of a combining system of image gazing with an E-Learning material are also proposed.

Physicians are motivated to use e-health technology. Use of modern technology enables knowledge extraction which can be used to improve diagnostics and treatment. At present Electronic Patient Record (EPR) are also shared through cloud among hospitals. Protection of EPR is important to protect the ownership particularly when the data is shared with third parties. Digital watermarking is a proven technique to achieve this goal. Digital watermarking technique can be employed for data hiding and to ensure integrity and authenticity of medical image. Considering this broad scope, a fresh and reversible watermarking scheme is recommended to report this safety production. Hospital Logo, Hash of ROI, Doctor Identification Code (DIC) is embedded using Recursive Dither Modulation (RDM) algorithm subsequent to wavelet transform and singular value decomposition. To improve the performance of the scheme differential evolution based optimization technique is proposed. The scheme is reversible and can also perform tamper detection.

In vision-based autonomous landing, the accuracy of GPS signal and the efficiency of target tracking and detecting will affect the performance in autonomous landing system. This paper presents a method of cooperation among two aerial mobile robots at high altitude and low altitude for autonomous navigation and landing. Fully utilizing the extensive vision and high flexibility on the high-altitude aerial mobile robot to control the low-altitude aerial mobile robot to finish tracking and landing procedures. The flight controller achieves to track target and attitude control in real time. The flight controller using high level control which are fuzzy logic and neural network to give to low level control. The aerial mobile robots use the fuzzy logic control and neural network for positioning and maneuvering, and image-based visual servoing for tracking the low-altitude aerial mobile robot and landing target. By applying these methods, we have achieved a scalable and robust procedures for autonomous landing.
