In this paper, a new simple spatial-spectral method is proposed to classify hyperspectral images. It is based on the combination of a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) and intrinsic image decomposition (IID). First, the dimensionality of the hyperspectral image is reduced based on a band grouping technique and mean operator. Afterward, albedo and shading components of these reduced features are recovered. Finally, stacked albedo and shading components are classified by DCNN. Experiments are applied to Pavia University's hyperspectral image from an urban area. Classification accuracy of the proposed method with only 1% of training data can reach about 99%, which is prominent according to state-of-the-art methods.

In the last World Computer Congress, WCC 2008, held in Milan, Italy in September 2008, IFIP launched a new initiative focused on all the relevant issues concerning computing and entertainment. The region-based approach to image retrieval has emerged as one of the most active research directions in the past few years. There are two crucial problems in the region-basedsystems: the weighting of regions and the use of relevance feedback. The former plays an important role in computing the region-based similarity of two images, while the latter can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of any CBIR system, if properly employed. In this paper, we propose Key-Region, a novel region weighting scheme that is based on the user's relevance feedback information. The region weight that coincides with human perception can not only be used in a query session, but also be memorized and accumulated for future queries. Experimental results on a database of about 10,000 general-purposed images show the effectiveness of our weighting scheme.

Removal of noise is an important step in the image restoration process, but denoising of image remains a challenging problem in recent research associate with image processing. Denoising is used to remove the noise from corrupted image, while retaining the edges and other detailed features as much as possible. This noise gets introduced during acquisition, transmission & reception and storage & retrieval processes. In this paper, to find out denoised image the modified denoising method and the local adaptive wavelet image denoising method can be used. The noisy image is denoised by modified denoising method which is based on wavelet domain and spatial domain and the local adaptive wavelet image denoising method which is based on wavelet domain. In this paper, we have evaluated and compared performances of modified denoising method and the local adaptive wavelet image denoising method. These methods are compared with other based on PSNR (Peak signal to noise ratio) between original image and noisy image and PSNR between original image and denoised image. Simulation and experiment results for an image demonstrate that RMSE of the local adaptive wavelet image denoising method is least as compare to modified denoising method and the PSNR of the local adaptive wavelet image denoising method is high than other method. Therefore, the image after denoising has a better visual effect. In this paper, these two methods are implemented by using MATLAB for denoising of image.

A large number of patient images are generated every day in medical applications such as ultrasound, Computer Tomography scans, X-Ray, and so on. Medical data is related to patient privacy and personal rights. Thus, the security and privacy of medical images become an important issue. In order to comply with the regulations of the Personal Data Protection Act, medical images need to be protected under a secure method. Therefore, we proposed a secure storage method for chest X-Ray images from Kaggle based on blockchain technology. We developed a smart contract to control role-based access permissions and authenticate medical images. We performed a cryptographic operation on the X-Ray image after each medical examination and stored the image fingerprint in the blockchain. Artificial intelligence was used to identify pneumonia-related diseases. We compared the required X-Ray retrieval time with the conventional PACS systems. The experimental results showed that the overhead of the proposed scheme using blockchain was only about 5 %.

With the increasing demand for multimedia on the internet, video technology has gradually become the mainstream of multimedia transmission on the internet. In order to avoid overflow and underflow of buffer in transmission and to ensure the continuity of image of human visual pair, this paper proposes an algorithm to force the transmission rate to be adjusted, considering that the video bit rate cannot be completely the same as the change of network bandwidth. Combining with the characteristics of VTP adaptive coding and packaging scheme, an improved packaging scheme is proposed for real-time video control. The experimental results of end-to-end video transmission system show that video transmission control technology can improve packet loss rate and real-time transmission.

This paper presents a coordinated multiple-substream unequal error protection and error concealment algorithm for SPIHT-coded bitstreams transmitted over lossy channels. In the proposed scheme, we divide the video sequence corresponding to a group of pictures into two sub-sequences in the temporal domain and independently encode each sub-sequence with a 3-D SPIHT algorithm to generate two independent substreams. Each substream is protected by an FEC-based unequal error protection algorithm that assigns unequal forward error correction codes for each substream with bit-plane granularity. The information that is lost during transmission for one substream is estimated at the receiver by using the correlation between the two substreams and the smoothness of the video signal. Simulation results show that the proposed multiple-substream UEP algorithm is simple, fast, and robust in hostile network conditions, and that the proposed error concealment algorithm achieves about 1-3 dB PSNR gain over the case where there is no error concealment at high packet loss rates.

This paper addresses the vision-based self-localization of an indoor service robot worked with a single vehicular camera. based on the principle of projective geometry and the extended virtual image plane, the transverse position and orientation of robot is calculated through considering the image plane and floor plane as a whole. The longitudinal position is acquired by using the monocular stereovision method based on distance constraint along feature points of nature or artificial landmark. After a simple off-line process about landmark, the service robot can work well in a building. The validity and feasibility of the approach have been demonstrated through experiments.

This paper describes the design and implementation of an OMAP3530-based networked control system which has real-time image processing capability. It integrates an ARM core and a DSP core in the controller. The ARM core with Linux operating system is responsible for applying functional services and the DSP core is responsible for executing image processing algorithms. The due-core structure makes the novel controller available for advanced control and image processing so that the designed control system expands the application of the existed networked controllers to machine vision. Finally, a reliable application for vision-based mobile robot localization demonstrates the effectiveness of the designed system.
