Multipliers are the utmost commonly used elements in today’s digital electronics. In digital signal processing systems, hardware multiplication is critical for obtaining high data throughput. based on the increasing applications of electronic devices, various types of multipliers have emerged. Array Multiplier is the most fundamental multiplier of all. The main goal of our project is to create an optimized and fast 4-bit array multiplier. Parallel Array Multipliers are used in DSP applications to do multiplication at high speeds while meeting performance criteria. The simulations are run on the Xilinx 14.7 ISE Design Suite. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Traffic sign recognition is vital for the success of the autonomous vehicles paradigm in mobile edge computing. We present a Federated Learning implementation based on a Lenet-5 CNN architecture which can enhance edge computing systems on unsupervised feature classification problems. Experiments demonstrated that our model can deliver satisfactory performance on traffic sign image recognition. Also our research has shown that less resources can be utilized on client devices to run the local training models. However, heavy data processing must be shifted to intermediate edge computing layers requiring more computing resources and the optimization of parameters such as latency, bandwidth, and privacy. © 2022 IEEE.

In recent years, the transition to the digital world offers users several conveniences, to use, process, store, and transmit their data. In addition, the rapid and continuous evolution of image acquisition systems has allowed a tremendous growth in the use of digital images. Indeed, digitization is a double-edged sword;it offers several benefits on the one hand and poses security problems on the other hand. For this reason, it is mandatory to design digital image protection systems against illegal manipulation. In recent decades, digital tattooing, a brilliant technique proposed to address several aspects of security. The principle of this technique is to implement a digital signal called watermark in another digital signal called host signal (text, image, audio, video...). In this context, our work aims to propose novel digital image watermarking approaches based on wavelets and DCT for the copyright protection of medical images. The proposed methods will allow optimizing the two contradictory demands of watermarking: imperceptibility and robustness. © 2022 IEEE.

Encirclement mode formation in swarm robotic systems is a long-term hot research topic. Most of the encirclement control models designed by traditional methods are based on global information. This paper proposes a distributed unmanned swarm control method. The approach is based on gene regulatory network models and does not rely on any direct communication. The gene regulatory network model will generate a concentration field based on the input target and obstacle information, which will be used by the unmanned swarm to autonomously assign targets and guide the unmanned swarm to move towards the target. In this method, the UAV only needs to obtain the local information within the sensing range through the sensors carried by itself, and can complete the assignment and encirclement tasks of multiple targets by itself, getting rid of the unmanned swarm's dependence on global information. Finally, the validity and reliability of the proposed model are verified by simulating in an obstacle environment. © 2023 IEEE.

Raman-optical-time-domain-reflectometry (R-OTDR) based distributed temperature sensing (DTS) is of great significance in extremely harsh environment. In this work, we propose a non local means (NLM) algorithm for R-OTDR performance improvement without modifying the hardware architecture. The NLM algorithm real-time reconstruct the two-dimensional temperature image by utilizing a first-in-first-out data transmission protocol. These images are incorporated to mitigate the complexity of calculating Euclidean distances between neighborhoods within two-dimensional spatial-temporal domains. This approach significantly improves the response speed of the system. To verify the sensing performance improvement of the NLM, we built a standard R-OTDR system and affirm the seamless continuity of temperature variations spanning a broad range from 40 °C to 80 °C over an extensive distance of 9.68 km assisted by a standard platinum resistor. The temperature accuracy decreases from 1.4 °C to 0.55 °C at sensing temperature of 100 °C. The results effectively reconcile the conventional trade-off between high temperature resolution and high-speed response. What’s more, an average temperature resolution is 0.05 °C at the end of fiber. In all, the Raman DTS system based on NLM algorithm achieve high temperature resolution. This achievement holds immense potential for diverse applications, including dynamic monitoring in the realms of energy development, oil and gas exploration, allied fields, and so on. © 2024 SPIE.

Loop closure detection is a crucial aspect of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) systems in robotics, as it helps to enhance the accuracy and consistency of robot localization by recognizing previously visited locations. LiDAR SLAM is a widely adopted approach for localization tasks due to its robustness to changes in illumination. However, the use of existing global descriptors for loop closure detection in indoor environments with narrow corridors and confined spaces is challenging due to limitations in representing the environment's geometry. To address this issue, we propose a novel approach to loop closure detection using LiDAR Range image Descriptors (RID) that can effectively capture the geometry of indistinguishable environments with low computation cost. Our proposed descriptor compresses 3D point clouds onto a 2D image plane while preserving distance information. In this paper, we demonstrate the efficacy of our approach through experiments in large-scale indoor and outdoor environments, showing that our descriptor outperforms existing methods in terms of computational efficiency in challenging, indistinguishable environments. based on the experimental results, our proposed approach is suitable for low-power robots and can be implemented in real-time, making it a promising technique for loop closure detection in challenging environments. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, remote sensing satellites have developed rapidly and accumulated massive high-resolution image data. Using deep learning to solve remote sensing image object detection has become an important research direction. However, due to shooting from a bird's eye view, the object has an oblique Angle. Because of the perspective problem, remote sensing images have boundary problem when the object is near horizontal. When there are a large number of densely tilted object boxes, using horizontal box detection method will cause box occlusion thus missing or mislabeling. Therefore, it is a challenging task to solve remote sensing image object detection. In this paper, we propose the network structure which based on YOLO-V5 and combined with CSL method. Moreover, the loss function is improved to deal with the overlapping problem of tilted object boxes effectively. As revealed by extensive experiments, the average accuracy of this method on DOTA data sets shows a competitive advantage. At the same time, the size of the network is only 16.3m, which is obviously better than the comparison method. © 2022 IEEE.

Multipliers play a role in various aspects of smart cities, which can be used in many applications like Traffic management, energy management and environmental management etc. The wide variety of applications of multipliers are in the field of signal processing and image processing. FPGA design of multiplier is one of the complex tasks in Digital electronics. Most of the designs uses DSP blocks, these multipliers are complex and occupies much area in FPGA. Accurate multiplier design with low area on FPGA is the challenging task. The proposed method is accurate multiplier design, which is designed only using lookup table (LUT). The proposed design has low power and reduced area because of using simple LUT’s for generating partial product. The proposed accurate multipliers reduce 10% less Hardware on vertex 7 FPGA compared to existing designs. © 2024, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.
