With the diversification of reconnaissance equipment and methods in the military field, optical stealth technology has become a hot spot in military research under the operational needs of optoelectronic confrontation. An improved self-adaptive visible light and infrared waveband stealth algorithm is proposed here, and its effectiveness under photoelectric confrontation is evaluated. The current digital camouflage design method is mainly through background color mixing, image segmentation, spot combination, etc. It has the defects of smooth and clear edge contour, fixed color/texture scene, and cannot adapt to complex texture background or multiple types of scenes. An improved digital camouflage design method based on fuzzy C-means clustering (FCM) image processing technology is proposed to obtain the color characteristics of the background image. Then, the color block types of the camouflage spots are acquired to reduce the loss of texture information of the background image caused by clustering or segmentation to avoid the phenomenon of clear boundaries caused by single region segmentation. The results show that the use of adaptive optical stealth algorithms in the visible and infrared bands can reduce the probability of being discovered in optoelectronic countermeasures, thereby gaining a head start. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Medical image processing encompasses the use and investigation of human body image collections, usually from a Computed Tomography (CT) to diagnose pathologies for disease detection. Energy efficiency is one of the key parameters in the design of very large-scale integrated circuits. For more power consuming circuits, the traditional methodologies deal with limited approaches. In recent years, approximate computing techniques improve the design metrics power, delay, and area with a limitation on accuracy. High performance computing and Error tolerant applications are preferred to implement Approximation techniques. Many multimedia applications, such as digital image and video processing, can introduce minor errors in the processed output. For these applications, approximate computational approach offers good performance in terms of low power consumption at a trade-off of accuracy. This is best suited for arithmetic circuits. Several improved versions of Approximate adders (PAA_s) and Approximate Subtractors (APSC8-APSC10) have been proposed in this paper for basic operations. based on these designs, multipliers and dividers have developed and also performance is compared with previous designs. Road traffic significantly increased in the last decades. The avoidance of accidents and the continuity of traffic flow are significant challenges for road mobility. In this paper, a real-Time internet of Things (IoT) architecture is presented for these current road traffic challenges. The presented architecture takes advantage of the emerging 5G mobile technology and relies on infrastructure components so that the presented architecture can be integrated into city infrastructure to become smarter and provide benefits to citizens. A collision warning service is being implemented to warn road users of imminent collisions. The parallel traffic flow optimization will also enable the prioritization of highlighted traffic partici-pants, such as emergency vehicles. By prioritizing pedestrians, bicycles, e-bikes and buses, for example, it will also be possible to achieve specific traffic and climate policy goals. An according smartphone app allows the resulting advantages to be used in the short term. Furthermore, additional actuators such as displays and signal transmitters will integrate all road users, regardless of the specific app usage. By using 5G, these components will also be implemented quickly, flexibly and reliably as infrastructure IoT devices. The paper concludes with a presentation of a research project in which these solutions are currently being implemented. © 2023 IEEE.

Autonomous drones operating in unstructured environments face challenges that demand agile navigation and obstacle avoidance. However, the lack of robust vision-based algorithms has hindered the development of effective control strategies. This paper presents a novel approach that combines Learning-based NMPC (Nonlinear Model Pre-dictive Control) with deep learning policies to address this problem. In our approach, a deep learning policy is trained using an expert NMPC that has access to the environment's map in simulation. The trained policy is then integrated with the NMPC as a feed-forward control signal, ensuring obstacle avoidance while reaching the desired waypoints. By leveraging NMPC, our approach provides essential control and local motion planning capabilities, while the deep learning policy enhances perception and decision-making based on learned representations from input depth images. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in achieving agile navigation and obstacle avoidance in unstructured environments. This work represents a significant advancement towards the development of intelligent vision-based autonomous systems capable of operating reliably in challenging real-world scenarios. In recent years, design of biomedical devices gains more significance to monitor, diagnose, and prevent various diseases without any disturbance to human subjects thus resulting in less hospital expenses. In this work, a generic cost-effective three electrode bio-signal acquisition device is designed and developed. Further, the acquired bio-signals, namely, electrocardiogram, electromyogram, and electrogas-trogram are analyzed using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and the peak frequency is estimated. Also, the decision support along with the acquired signal is stored and displayed remotely using the IoT framework. Results demonstrate that the proposed device is capable of measuring various bio-signals such as ECG, EMG, and EGG in a cost-effective way. Also, the IoT framework helps to monitor three different physiological signals in a remote manner using smartphones/computers. This work appears to be of high clinical relevance since physiological signals along with deci-sion support help the physician/caretakers to monitor health conditions remotely using IoT. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2023.

One of the most difficult challenges in image processing is restoring a defocused image by reducing blur and noise. Blurring characterizes image deterioration, and recovery is accomplished by point spread function estimation and ideal image estimation processing was repeated. Ringing, or wavelike artifacts that arise along strong edges, is a difficult challenge in latent image restoration. Therefore, this paper will introduce an improved blind deconvolution for restoring blurry images using ringing removal process. This paper provides an improved deconvolution technique that uses blur kernel prediction based on dark channels before achieving clear image recovery. To hold picture information and beautify the rims of the ringing impact created at some point of the authentic clean picture recuperation process, an easy bilateral clear out is used. The ringing removal method L0 regularization is used with the restoration process, which can estimate a sharper image. By removing the difference map from the final deconvolution result, it is possible to get a clearer picture without ringing. Finally, the results are presented in terms of performance parameters such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), mean squared error (MSE), and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR).The results show that the performance parameters of the improved blind deconvolution model are superior compared to existing image blur removal algorithms. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The low-light image enhancement plays a crucial role in computer vision and multimedia applications. However, it is still a challenging task, as the degraded images reduce the visual naturalness and visibility. To address this problem, we build a novel variational Retinex model to accurately estimate the illumination and reflectance components. The illumination and reflectance are jointly updated by alternating optimization algorithm. Experimental results on several public datasets demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in Retinex decomposition and illumination adjustment. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) is a kind of metamaterial with the ability to regulate and control wireless channels, which can provide additional links for wireless communication systems. Meanwhile, it has low hardware cost, low energy consumption, flexible deployment, and intelligent reconfiguration merits. By combining the RIS technology with coded relay cooperation, we establish the RIS-assisted coded relay cooperation based on low density parity check (LDPC) product codes, and further propose the LDPC product code encoding method and efficient joint iterative decoding algorithm. Then, we theoretically derive the approximate solutions of the outage probability and the channel capacity with finite code length. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the proposed system obviously outperforms the traditional coded relay cooperation, and the more number of RIS elements, the more significant advantage can be obtained. Simulation results also demonstrate that the channel capacity with finite code length approaches the ideal channel capacity with the code length of LDPC product codes increasing. © 2023 IEEE.
