Accurate temperature control of power transformer is the challenging task to every power system engineers. Nowadays Mercury based temperature sensing and actuating systems are installed for controlling the power transformer temperature and tripping the breakers whenever the temperature is exceeded the desired preset value. But the drawback of these control methods is lack of accuracy in sensing of temperature and sluggish control or slow response. A new approach or method for controlling and monitoring the temperature of the power transformer is prescribed and the associated control components are discussed. The intelligent control system uses the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Graphical Operating Terminal (GOT) Display unit for the control purpose. The ON command to cooling fan and TRIP signal to circuit breaker are given from the controller. The algorithm is written into the PLC in the form of ladder program. The reference values and actual values are displayed in the GOT. In this study, the required control modules and programming part are discussed to implement the intelligent control of temperature of power transformer. The controller is trained for the past history and necessary scripts are written to take the action in its own for the specific problem using AI based techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

Due to the increased online activity, people of all ages, especially adolescents, may get exposed to objectionable image content such as internet pornography. These images are spread quickly and widely over the internet, which causes serious social problems. Many researchers have proposed objectionable image content classification models by utilizing deep neural networks to prevent such images from being retrieved while surfing the web. The performance of such models can be enhanced by the semi-supervised learning method by effectively utilizing the image data from an overwhelming number of unlabeled objectionable samples. For many such unlabeled objectionable images, this paper proposes a semi-supervised image content classification framework using a balanced sample inclusion mechanism based on a higher class probability outcome to include the pseudo labels effectively in the existing model. The proposed framework fully utilizes semi-supervised learning and gradually improves model classification accuracy and reliability. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

A significant factor in data transfer is computer science. Security considerations make it difficult to transmit sensitive data or have conversations via the internet. Typically, cryptography is used to transmit text-based underground messages and conceal in sequence. These days, there are numerous methods for concealing information on any media. A technique like this is steganography. The creation of a covert communication system that uses multi-image steganography will enable safe communication among the dispatcher and the recipient free from hacker intervention. image steganography is the main technique for information hiding. It involves integrating the cipher text within a picture called the cover picture that is very difficult for strangers to view through an unassisted eye. Within a cover image, the concealed data may take the shape of any kind of text, picture, music, or even video. The secret code is split up into several pieces and etched into several cover images, according to the conceptual notion of multi-image steganography. Thus, in order to make it extremely difficult for the hackers to hide the data, we suggested two image steganography concepts. In order to create a safe and protected system, this learning suggest by means of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) approach of cryptography with the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method of steganography. The internet of Things (IoT) and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) have transformed industries by highlighting their crucial roles in sensing, communication, and data-driven decisions. One paramount feature in WSN is localization, enabling precise positioning of devices in real-world applications. Global Positioning systems (GPS) have long been the mainstay of high-precision localization, but their high energy consumption is a significant obstacle to their seamless integration with low-power devices. In the quest for suitable solutions, Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) have emerged as key players, providing energy-efficient connectivity. However, these advances raise questions about the localization accuracy within these networks. In this paper, we present the implementation of WSN based on Long Range (LoRa) technology to estimate the position of an object in an outdoor environment. We took advantage of LoRa technology to collect Received signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements over a long distance. An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is then trained on a collected dataset to estimate the 2-dimensional position of the object. The results show an estimate of the position with an average absolute error of 40.5 meters in an area of 360 meters by 360 meters. A web interface is made with Node-Red to monitor the position of the mobile object. © 2023 IEEE.

Prospective 5th (5G) telecommunication has very good expectations for service quality in areas include bandwidth utilization, congestion, power efficiency, and number of nodes. More significantly, IoT is needed for extensive network infrastructure. Short wavelength transmission, light authenticity, optical image transmission, and free storage photonic are all examples of coherent optical communication (OWC) technologies that may be beneficial in easing the widespread adoption of 5G and the internet of Things. Applications of OWC connections to 5G and IoT solutions are explained in detail in this article. High - speed wireless services like videoconference, mobile devices, greater internet access, etc. need relatively high upcoming wireless modern communications. Current signal repeaters only handle a measly few thousand megabits per second (Mbps) of data transmission. Recently, large implementations in semiconductor devices lighting technology have fueled renewed interest in optical wired (OW), a potential complimentary solution for RF technology. The objective of this study was to analyze and synthesize key generation in OW communication, with just a focus on the merits that optical wireless systems would provide to the future era of wireless networks. © 2023 IEEE.

Effective visualization of infrared images with low contrast and low signal-to-noise ratio is one of the key technologies for high-performance infrared imaging systems. The conventional decomposition-based algorithms have advantages in image details enhancement, but still suffer from high computational cost, unbalanced noise suppression and detail information. In this paper, we decompose the base and detail components of the image by the iterative least squares and the Difference of Gaussian filter, and further enhance the base layer and the detail layer via plateau equalization and gradient mask, respectively. We then fusion the enhancement result and re-project to 8-bit dynamic range. Experimental results shown that the proposed method achieves a good balance between detail enhancement and computational cost, with a high-performance in different scenes. © 2023 SPIE.

The internet of Vehicles (IoV), a network that interlinks vehicles, infrastructure, and assorted entities, serves as a cornerstone for intelligent transportation systems and the emergence of smart cities. Within this context, edge computing has been identified as a critical solution for providing rapid and reliable data processing. Machine Learning (ML) techniques have become essential to IoV activities such as resource allocation and load balancing across mobile edge servers, typified by decentralized services that range from natural language processing to image recognition. The fusion of ML with edge computing within IoV architecture promises enhanced performance, efficiency, and safety. However, this amalgamation also creates challenges related to data privacy, cybersecurity, malfunctioning edge devices, inconsistent network connectivity, human errors, and malicious insiders. Consequently, this paper focuses on modeling security threats within an ML-based edge computing framework for the IoV. We analyze the system provided by the Linux Foundation Edge Akraino Project's Stable Topology Prediction blueprint by employing a hybrid threat modeling technique. Our strategy leverages STRIDE to elicit threats on distinct system elements like vehicle-to-vehicle communication networks, edge networks, and ML models. Subsequently, these threats are consolidated for a comprehensive view using an attack tree. © 2023 IEEE.

Both in highway and urban scenarios, street lighting is essential to improve visibility and lower the accident rate at night. However, it uses a lot of energy, with recent increases in global utilization from 13% to 15% This enormous worldwide energy use is a result of excessive energy consumption, which annually produces roughly 3900 tons of CO2 emissions. Additionally, standard constant illumination lighting systems raise electricity costs and may be responsible for as much as 60% of them. Further, according to the India-USAID statistics, by 2027, the usage of streetlights globally is expected to reach about 363 million. Thus, may lead to an increase in power consumption and Carbon components in the future with existing approaches. Therefore, in this paper, an internet of Things Enabled Smart Street Lighting System for Highway and Urban infrastructures is proposed. To this end, the proposed model makes use of a low-cost, low-power Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor for effective lighting control and has dimming capabilities during any movement of humans or vehicles in or out of sensor range. In addition, a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor is incorporated into the system for automatic detection of the environment brightness levels and turning on/off the streetlights on roads. For energy-saving lighting options, Sodium Lamps are replaced with Light-Emitting Diodes to lower the environmental effect while ensuring safety. Further, sensor data is analyzed and exchanged with each other over the internet. Finally, the values are stored in the cloud through Thingspeak. © 2024 IEEE.
