This work proposes a novel approach that integrates super-resolution techniques with off-the-shelf object detection methods to tackle the problem of handling very low-resolution thermal images. The suggested approach begins by enhancing the low-resolution (LR) thermal images through a guided super-resolution strategy, leveraging a high-resolution (HR) visible spectrum image. Subsequently, object detection is performed on the high-resolution thermal image. The experimental results demonstrate tremendous improvements in comparison with both scenarios: when object detection is performed on the LR thermal image alone, as well as when object detection is conducted on the up-sampled LR thermal image. Moreover, the proposed approach proves highly valuable in camouflaged scenarios where objects might remain undetected in visible spectrum images.

Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation is crucial for channel state information (CSI) estimation in massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. However, traditional narrowband DOA estimation methods are unsuitable for wideband signals whose bandwidth continuously increase with the transmission rate of the communication systems. In this paper, we propose a low-complexity DOA estimation algorithm based on intelligent optimization algorithms for wideband signals in massive MIMO systems. First, a real-value wideband DOA estimation method is proposed to reduce the computational complexity. To further improve spectral peak search efficiency, we propose an intelligent spectral peak searching algorithm, which uses genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the angle search process to obtain DOA. Furthermore, to reduce the problem of multiple parameter settings in GA algorithm, we propose to use the particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO) to optimize the peak search. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithms can effectively estimate the angle of wideband sources in massive MIMO systems and outperform some existing methods in complexity. © 2023 IEEE.

Online communication has become quicker and simpler as a result of the growth of the internet and the advancement in technology. People are using multimedia data in almost all spheres of life. The amount of multimedia data transmitted has been increasing at a massive rate. Multimedia data delivered over open and unreliable networks are susceptible to unauthorized access. As a result, a cryptographic standard is needed to securely and efficiently transmit multimedia data such as images over the networks. This study uses cellular automata and an XOR-based continuous tone MSS approach to create an image encryption method. The suggested approach has eliminated VC's drawbacks, including secret/share quantity constraints, unpredictable share patterns, codebook requirements, and pixel extension in shares and recovered secret pictures. The recommended approach uses an (n,n) multi-secret sharing system that can send n secret photos simultaneously. At the time of encoding, the master share overcomes been made using the secret key, and it may be successfully retrieved when decoding using a comparable secret key. The exploratory results and security examination shows the proficiency of the given approach. The complexity of the proposed approach can be adjusted by using the different combinations of cellular automata rules.. © 2023 IEEE.

Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) is a practical multiple access technology in modern communication systems. In TDMA communication system, terminals share wireless channel resources in the form of frame-time slots. A frame is divided into multiple time slots, and the duration of each time slot is fixed. In order to locate TDMA communication terminal by a single station, this paper presents a method of joint direction and time finding information based on the assistance of TDMA terminal with known location. In this method, the problem is constructed as a least squares model, and then the target location is obtained by using grid search strategy. Then, the positioning error is analyzed theoretically, and the influence of direction finding error, time measuring error, observation station position error and reference terminal position error on positioning error is studied. Finally, the positioning performance of the proposed method is verified by several simulation experiments. © 2023 IEEE.

In the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite internet of Things (IoT), there is a significant imbalance in the distribution of ground terminal locations. Under a fixed beam regime, this leads to scenarios where satellite network capacity is simultaneously overloaded and underutilized, resulting in low capacity utilization rates for LEO satellite-to-earth communications. Distributed LEO-MIMO (Low Earth Orbit-Multiple Input Multiple Output) can alleviate overloads and distribute capacity by extending the satellite beam coverage area. However, unlike terrestrial distributed MIMO, which faces co-channel interference issues, distributed satellite networking in LEO systems also deals with the heterogeneity of Doppler shifts across different satellite links. To address these issues, a distributed LEO-MIMO linear precoding update algorithm is proposed. This paper, utilizing spectral graph theory, reduces the problem of constructing a single-frame precoding matrix to a graph signal correlation calculation problem. We introduce a precoding solving algorithm based on a time sliding window, which enhance data processing efficiency and reduce communication latency. © 2024 IEEE.

The combination of pervasive sensing and multimedia understanding with the advances in communications makes it possible to conceive platforms of services for providing telehealth solutions responding to the current needs of society. The recent outbreak has indeed posed several concerns on the management of patients at home, urging to devise complex pathways to address the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in combination with the usual diseases of an increasingly elder population. In this paper, we present TiAssisto, a project aiming to design, develop, and validate an innovative and intelligent platform of services, having as its main objective to assist both Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) multi-pathological patients and healthcare professionals. This is achieved by researching and validating new methods to improve their lives and reduce avoidable hospitalisations. TiAssisto features telehealth and telemedicine solutions to enable high-quality standards treatments based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Three hundred patients are involved in our study: one half using our telehealth platform, while the other half participate as a control group for a correct validation. The developed AI models and the Decision Support System assist General Practitioners (GPs) and other healthcare professionals in order to help them in their diagnosis, by providing suggestions and pointing out possible presence or absence of signs that can be related to pathologies. Deep learning techniques are also used to detect the absence or presence of specific signs in lung ultrasound images.

With the rapid development of information technology, e-commerce has gradually entered thousands of households from high technology. E-commerce website (ECW) have become an important bridge for daily communication between enterprises and between enterprises and consumers. image is one of the most important and commonly used information of human beings;Digital IPT is the process of converting image signal into digital format and processing it by computer. This paper studies and analyzes the application of graphics and IPT in the construction of ECW, discusses the graphics and IPT and the result design process of ECW, and tests the network name's views on the website construction proposed in this paper through online questionnaire experiment. The results show that 84% of internet users using graphics and IPT in the construction of ECWs will make people more willing to browse websites, and 76% said that the visual effect of web pages is good, while websites without graphics and IPT have little effect on improving shopping desire, and only 61% of internet users said they are willing to browse websites. It is verified that the application of graphics and IPT in the construction of ECW in this paper is conducive to improve the browsing volume of the website, and can also improve the visual aesthetic sense for internet users, which is welcomed by the audience. © 2022 ACM.

Deep Learning algorithms have recently become accessible to modern Telecommunication systems due to the advancement in both hardware and software technology. The massively parallel computational tasks of Artificial Intelligence (AI) training are now directly performed in Graphic Processing Units (GPUs), which contain many processing cores. This paper tests the improvement in computing time for Deep Neural Network (DNN) architectures that solve the Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimation problem as a classification task by utilizing the Nvidia CUDA framework. The training and testing data are generated by receiving signal information from a simulated antenna array. The input of the DNN is a 64 × 64 image with two channels, whereas the problem is modelled as a multi-label classification task. The purpose of this research is to observe the acceleration that the GPU provides in the DoA estimation classification problem. The project includes benchmarks from a wide range of computing systems and the results demonstrate the potential of DNN-based DoA estimators as a modern technology that can be deployed on available commercial hardware. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Significant interest in Content-based image Retrieval (CBIR) has been identified over the last two decades, which utilizes image and video perception to find adequate images. The availability of graphical and multimedia data, as well as the expansion of the internet, demands field matching. Because of the lack of visual content as a ranking clue, methodologies for visual retrieval that use text search methods may suffer from lack of consistency between full texts and visual content. Many programmers and tools have been developed to help users develop, implement, and conduct research on visual or audio content, as well as to browse large multimedia repositories. A benchmark for transmission model has been established DICOM, and patient data can be ended up saving along with the images, although there are still a few issues with standardization. Several papers have proposed content-based access to medical images to aid clinical decision-making and simplify medical evidence, and instances for integrating based on their content access methods into images and communication systems have been developed. This work provides a thorough evaluation of current advancements in the fields of CBIR. This investigation utilizes key characteristics of numerous retrieval methods for images and frameworks, ranging from basic identification of features from images to current deep-learning approaches. © 2023 IEEE.
