With the rapid growth of internet of Things, self-powered wireless communication systems are crucial. This paper demonstrates a self-powered wearable system with real-time wireless communication (SWRC) using a fabric-based triboelectric nanogenerator (F-TENG). The proposed system utilizes an ambient mechanical energy and it can conduct a wireless communication for 150 cm with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 2.62 dB. Notably, the SWRC demonstrate a 70 ms faster operation than commercial force sensors in contact states. Considering these results, our proposed system is expected to be utilized at the industrial field in near future due to its great potential.

In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate an optical camera communications (OCC) system for wearable light-emitting diode (LED) as the transmitter. Wearable devices are powerful tools for supporting internet of Things (IoT) systems because of their sensing, processing, and communication capability. The term "wearable devices" refers to a wide range of products that can be integrated into clothing and accessories, thus allowing real-time data detection, storage, and exchange without human intervention. This paper presents the practical evaluation of an LED-based wearable transmitter for an OCC system to demonstrate its feasibility. In particular, an LED array attached to the body is modulated using on-off keying to transmit data via visible light, and a smartphone camera captures video of the user wearing the device while slightly moving in a static position in the room. Finally, the data is decoded from the video frames using an image processing algorithm that tracks the source and demodulates the signal.

The widespread use of digital platforms, prioritising content based on engagement metrics and rewarding content creators accordingly, has contributed to the proliferation of disinformation and its far-reaching social and political impact. In addition, digital platforms often operate as black boxes, concealing their decision-making processes from users and prioritizing investor interests over ethical and social considerations. Consequently, this has contributed to the erosion of general trust in verification systems. To mitigate this issue, our project proposes a two-stage verification system. The first stage allows media industries to watermark their image and video content. The second stage involves implementing a machine-learning-based manipulation detection system for suspicious content. We present findings from an international user experience study, where potential online news consumers verified the authenticity of images on a prototype version of our system. In this paper, we reflect on critical issues of explainability addressed by participants in our user study and how we addressed this issue in the platform's design.

internet technologies make multimedia data communication easy and affordable;meanwhile, securing the secret and private information over the open network also becomes a major threat and challenge. Steganography and encryption are two approaches for securing secret information. Encryption converts the secret data into a scribbled form whereas steganography is a data embedding approach to secure the secret information. In this study, a 2D discrete cosine transform (DCT)-based image steganography-then-encryption hybrid method using chaotic map for hiding secret bits chaotically in least significant bits (n-LSBs) has been proposed. The proposed image steganography-then-encryption approach outperforms the existing techniques in terms of security, mean square error (MSE) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). The key space of more than 10168 and correlation coefficient (>0.9) of cover with stego and with encrypted-stego image at different levels for different images make the proposed algorithm resistant to brute force attack. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The Segmented Planar Imaging Detector for Electro-Optical Reconnaissance (SPIDER) imaging system combines synthetic aperture technology and Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) technology, which can reduce the size, mass and power consumption of traditional telescopes by one to two orders of magnitude. Simultaneously, it provides an effective way for future astronomical telescopes to have both large field of view, high resolution and light weight. In order to solve the problem of unsatisfactory image restoration effect of SPIDER imaging system, this paper proposes an optimized design based on a layered multi-level odd-even arm microlens array and an image reconstruction technology based on the clean algorithm. The simulation results show that the clean reconstruction algorithm based on the odd-even arm SPIDER system proposed in this paper can increase the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) by about 39% and the structural similarity (SSIM) by about 63%, which can effectively remove the artifacts caused by the system frequency truncation. © 2024 SPIE.

Elections play a crucial part in any system of democracy, and it is imperative to guarantee that the voting process is carried out with impartiality and honesty. The destiny of our nation and the well-being of its in habitants hinge upon a solitary ballot. Authentication and integrity of the electronic voting machine is a very big challenge with the advancement in the technology. The suggested approach utilizes automated techniques to ascertain and verify the identification of a voter by analyzing their facial image and fingerprints. The ease of acquisition and excellent pairing accuracy of face and fingerprint make them well-suited for biometric data purposes. The suggested system utilizes a Haar cascade filter for face recognition and a UART sensor for fingerprint authentication. With 99% accuracy, the suggested online voting method has many benefits over conventional paper-based voting systems, such as greater security, lower costs, enhanced efficiency, and honesty. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, with the application of Multi-access edge computing (MEC) technology in the power internet of Things (PIOT), the power internet of Things has gradually formed a development trend of large connections, wide coverage, real-time, and intelligence. However, the introduction of MEC makes the power internet of Things involve more information transmission and data processing, and how to strengthen the preventive measures for data security and privacy protection is also a key challenge. Aiming at the problem that the edge nodes in the power internet of Things are vulnerable to attacks, this paper proposes a network security strategy for the power internet of Things based on cloud-edge collaboration. This strategy updates their respective trust values in real time through the communication and interaction between nodes, and quickly detects abnormal nodes in the network based on the trust values. At the same time, this paper implements the abnormal node detection smart contract proposed in this paper based on the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain platform. The experimental results show that the designed abnormal node detection smart contract accurately detects the abnormal nodes in the network, and successfully synchronizes the results with all nodes, effectively ensuring the operation security of the power internet of Things. © 2023 IEEE.

Recently, rapid growth of information technology, has progressively entered the daily life of combinations. Smart city management is the innovative technology by combining internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and mobile internet technologies to achieve modern living experience. By analyzing the current situation of smart city this research presented Improved Seagull Optimization Algorithm with Dense Net -121 (ISOA-Dense Net-121) to improve processes in digitalization economy. The suggested model involves sensor-integrated systems to optimize by generating accurate predictions. ISOA is utilized to simulate the seagull migration for global exploration, resulting in better weight initialization. Then, DenseNet-121 utilized to improve the performance in difficult image recognition tasks. By removing the unnecessary data applications, these hybridized model ISOA-DenseNet-121 reduce the environmental effects in SWM. According to the result it illustrated that when compared to existing models such as ResNeXt, SWM and Smart Waste Bin Management System (SWBMS) the proposed ISOA-Dense Net-121 recommended strategy outperformed the others in terms of accuracy, f-score of 99.3%, precision of 99.4% and recall of 99.2%. © 2024 IEEE.

Improved fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering algorithms have been widely used for image recognition and localization. However, in industrial assembly systems, the unsatisfactory pixel merging and segmentation results between local adjacent windows, combined with the differences in the shape, size, and material of parts, as well as variations in lighting conditions, make target image recognition and localization a challenge. Most algorithms struggle to achieve the expected results and have high computational complexity. In this study, we propose a super-resolution-based FCM clustering algorithm that is faster and more accurate for image recognition and localization in industrial assembly systems with irregular part sizes. We first use multiscale morphological gradient operations to obtain high-resolution images. Then, we use the fast FCM clustering algorithm to achieve the recognition and extraction of specific target images. Finally, we use the Sobel operator to determine the target's position. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm shows higher accuracy and efficiency in image recognition and localization for industrial assembly systems. © 2023 SPIE.
