Embedded microprocessors require efficient supply management systems to optimize its power consumption and to enhance their calculation potentials. Typically, the modules performing this function are known as Voltage Regulator Modules (VRMs). It is widely adapted that current-programmed regulation techniques own leveraging skills in the control of this kind of power converters. However, these strategies require a fine inductor-current sensing to achieve accurate *** critical issue in the inductor-current sensing is the effect of parasitic inductances in the measurement loop. This undesirable effect produces a considerable mismatch between the real inductorcurrent waveform and the equivalent voltage image captured thanks to the shunt resistance. Further, this unwanted deviation augments as long as the current value is increased. As a result, this problem makes loosely the data obtained. However, today's commercial digital controllers, like FPGAs1, can be used to reduce overwhelmingly the aforementioned drawback. The presented work exploits some intrinsic advantages of FPGAs such as its great processing speed and its parallel working mode to overcome this drawback. Therefore, a new digital auto-tuning system is proposed in which this undesirable effect is treated and compensated. The obtained result is a digital signal which avoids the parasitic effect of the inductance in the measurement loop. In the last part of our work, some experimental results, using a FPGA, validate the advantages of the proposed method. ©2010 IEEE.

A smartphone-based positioning system suitable for indoor robot application is developed in this research by integrating image and other sensors on a smartphone with wheel odometer feedback from a Bluetooth-connected robot vehicle. WiFi signal, inertial sensors, and CMOS sensor in the smartphone were considered to provide measurements for positioning calculations. The real-time performances of SIFT, SURF, and ORB image feature detection and tracking algorithms are compared in the smartphone and ORB was chosen for implementation. Experimental result of Visual SLAM positioning is presented together with state convergence analysis.

Large aperture optical system is required for high resolution and high signal to nose ratio remote sensing observations. In this case, adaptive optics is used to compensate the wavefront aberration generated by the misalignment or the thermal deformation of the optical elements. We use a liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator (LCOS-SLM) for the optical wavefront control, and image-based wavefront sensing which realize simple hardware architecture. For image-based sensing, a priori information is required in addition to the acquired images. We use phase diversity (PD) wavefront sensing method which applies a priori information called PD to the optics. By using PDs and acquired images, we can estimate arbitrary wavefront aberration. In this case, the sensitivity of the acquired image to the aberration mode depends on the applied PD. We use LCOS-SLM to apply the optimal set of PDs. We constructed adaptive optics system testbed using LCOS-SLM and USB camera. In this system, we used a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor (SHWS) to compare the estimated wavefront aberration with the actual wavefront measured by the SHWS. The laboratory test results show that the proposed system improves the optical performance of the remote sensing sensors.

Synchronisation of Fractional-order Non-linear systems can be used by incorporating additional security attributes. In this work, a Recurrent Neural network with Backstepping controller is designed used for synchronizing two identical non-linear fractional-order chaotic systems in master-slave configuration. The controller is split into two parts. One is designed at the sender's end and the other at receiver section to obtain synchronisation between Master and Slave systems. Also, two signals are transmitted in which one has message signal embedded in it and the other is a complicated combination of master states which is used for synchronisation purpose at the receiver end so that information signal can be recovered. A complex key set is designed with system parameters, fractional orders, initial conditions, so that no intruder can decode the message signal and receiver system should also know the keyset. The efficacy of the proposed scheme is demonstrated with the help of results presented in the end.

The objective of the proposed project is to develop a wheelchair equipped with embedded speech and vision based support system for the physically challenged people who include impairment in hands, legs and eyes (they can be able to speak and hear). It is a low cost system which includes a DSP processor enabled with speech and image processing algorithms to support and control the mechanical parts of the wheelchair in an efficient and controlled manner. The system can be implemented in old-age home, schools for physically challenged and hospitals.

images have become a standard for information consumption and storage, far replacing text in various domains such as museums, news stations, medicine and remote sensing. Such images constitute of the majority of data being consumed on the internet today and the volume is constantly increasing day by day. Most of these images are unlabeled and devoid of any keywords. The swift and continuous increase in the use of images and their unlabeled characteristics have demanded the need for efficient and accurate content-based image retrieval systems. A considerable number of such systems have been designed for the task that derive features from a query image and show the most similar images. One such efficient and accurate system is attempted in this paper which makes use of color and texture information of the images and retrieves the best possible results based on this information. The proposed method makes use of Color Coherence Vector (CCV) for color feature extraction and Gabor Filters for texture features. The results were found to be significantly higher and easily exceeded a few popular studies as well.

In the railway transportation industry, precise and accurate navigation is a crucial factor for maintaining operational safety and efficiency. Conventional signal-based navigation systems often have limitations due to their dependence on complex infrastructure and susceptibility to human error. Therefore, the development of GPS-based train navigation tools is proposed as a complementary system to enhance situational awareness for train operators and improve travel safety. This system not only provides real-time information on train speed but also the precise location of trains to prevent potential collisions. Additionally, the position data from the GPS is updated to a server and displayed using data communication pathways via the internet of Things (IoT). Initial prototyping and implementation have shown promising results in visualizing the positions of trains relative to each other.

The next-generation wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) equipment requires signal processing with low battery usage in order to transmit signals when harmful rhythms are recognized and to capture signals when anomalous rhythms are discovered. The visual deflections that are frequently visible on an ECG make up the QRS complex. This research suggests a real-time QRS recognition and R point detection system that is extremely accurate and simple. The recommended ECG signal modification eliminates baseline wandering while also enhancing QRS intervals and controlling P and $T$ waves. In this work, the peaks and valleys of the converted signal were used to calculate the fiducial point for the QR. The R point could then be determined using four QRS waveform templates, and the initial categorization of cardiac rhythms could be completed simultaneously. On two benchmark datasets, the proposed method's effectiveness is shown. Positive prediction (+P) and detected sensitivity (Se) values for QRS are 99.82 and 99.81 percent, respectively, according to the standard. The outcome demonstrates that the method has a low processing complexity and that real-time software may be successfully executed on both an embedded system and a mobile device.

In order to solve the problems of “digital signal processing”, such as many common knowledge points, difficult teaching, difficult visual teaching, and so on, a software platform for “signal processing” open teaching is built based on Visual C++6.0. This system is to cooperate with the teaching content of CIM, but also to improve the practical ability of students, so that they can more easily and quickly understand some of the more complex digital signal theory. The timing of the beam position signal is optimized based on the existing down sampling method, and the digital AGC and slow application signal processing modules are completed. We need to get turn-by-turn, quick application, and track closing data simultaneously. The experiment shows that the system can obtain the multi-frequency position information including the actual running state well. The advantages of this system are easy to control parameters, easy to use, and strong expansibility. This project plans to further improve the system in the future research work so as to achieve better teaching and practical application purposes.

Very recently, neural network based deep learning (DL) models are being applied to solve the problems of communication system. In this work, we design a deep neural network (DNN) based automatic modulation classification (AMC) scheme for wireless communication scenario. In particulars, we have implemented a DL network (ModNet) to identify the modulation scheme of received signal in real time using universal software radio peripheral (USRP) hardware. To identify the correct modulation scheme, the constellation diagram of the received complex symbols is plotted in image format. Thereafter, this image is send to pre-trained ModNet classifier for classification. based on the constellation image and intelligence gained during training, ModNet determines the modulation scheme of the received signal. The proposed ModNet architecture is based on well-known image classification network AlexNet. Simulation result shows, the proposed modulation detection scheme provides higher classification accuracy than other existing modulation classification methods. The same has been verified through hardware implementation.
