The observed trend of introducing digital technologies into the structure of the fuel and energy complex is accompanied by a transition from full-scale testing methods to test methods on the stands of mathematical and semi-natural modeling. Carrying out traditional test methods is impractical, since it does not take into account all the characteristic modes of operation of objects, therefore, consideration of the features of digital differential protection of the transformer is carried out on the basis of a simulation model in the Simulink graphical environment based on Matlab, which provides reproduction of physical objects in the form of mathematical models. The purpose of the study of the proposed model was to determine ways to improve the accuracy of the differential protection settings and ensure the sensitivity of the protection under different operating modes of the transformer. During the study of the model, the features of modeling the protection operation were taken into account, taking into account the nature of the change in the instantaneous differential current in emergency modes, in the modes of overexcitation and the surge of the magnetizing current of the transformer. Based on the results of the research, optimal parameters were selected to prevent excessive triggering of the differential protection of the transformer based on the analysis of the harmonic composition of the current in case of damage. © 2023 IEEE.

Through this innovative approach, users can experience a realistic and engaging representation of the college, enhancing their understanding and exploration of the space. Traditional architectural models, typically rendered with pen-and-paper blueprints or clay models, often lack detailed visualization and feasibility for quick modifications. This research explores the advantages of utilizing Virtual Reality (VR) for visualizing architectural models of college environments with significantly enhanced detail, both exterior and interior. VR technology allows for the immediate identification and correction of errors, facilitating rapid and efficient updates. Unlike traditional methods, which require redrawing entire blueprints for minor changes, VR's layered structure permits individual modifications without impacting the whole model. Leveraging the Unity game engine, multiple architects can collaborate seamlessly, working together with clients to develop a satisfactory and detailed VR model of the building. This approach not only improves design accuracy but also enhances collaborative efforts, demonstrating the substantial benefits of VR in modern architectural practices. © 2024 IEEE

This paper presents a novel miniaturized and reconfigurable filter structure for the C-band applications. The filter allows shifting the bandwidth over a range of 1 GHz while maintaining a filtering bandwidth with a fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 13.33%. The design employs four SMV2019 varactor diodes and a Rogers 4003C substrate with a thickness of 0.8 mm. Co-simulation results demonstrate that the filter offers return losses greater than 25 dB and insertion losses ranging from 2 dB to 0.85 dB. These features make this filter particularly suitable for specific C-band applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Maritime search and rescue (MSAR) play an important role in the development of the maritime business. In particular, the rescue for marine wrecked ships is one of the current hot research topics in the field of MSAR. During the response of rescue for marine wrecked ships, one of the key issues is how to develop an optimal rescue plan after an accident occurs. To provide the decision support for the real rescue, this paper proposed a simulation system by using the multi-agent modeling and simulation method. Specifically, the mission scene is modeled for marine wrecked ships including main agents involved, information flows, rescue process. Based on that, a multi-agent model is built considering the main individuals in the rescue mission. Moreover, the evaluation indicator system is established to evaluate various rescue plan by using the analytic hierarchy process. After that, a simulation system is designed with multiple agents and the evaluation model. Finally, a case study is carried out to verify the decision support capability of the simulation system. Three different rescue plans are developed to describe rescue mission scenes and analyses the rescue effectiveness. In the case study, it could be concluded that S-76C++ has better rescue capability than S-76D for marine wrecked ships. By using the proposed models and evaluation system, the simulation system can be served as a decision support system for potential maritime rescue applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This paper describes the several steps to build an elaborate flight simulator cockpit, where the hardware is designed based on Mechatronic principles and the proposed software was developed using agile methodologies to create a Cyber-Physical System (CPS). Furthermore, this research attempts to simulate the real environment from an aircraft as close as possible with a real scale developed cockpit. Based on this, the presented paper contributions include: (1) The implementation of a complex dynamic system such as a CPS, where the Mechatronic system is part of it;(2) The deployment of a scale model of an Airbus A32x aircraft (one of the most used), integrating into a mathematical model adapted to the operation of an aircraft flight simulation system, regarding the physical forces involved. This project is also used to captivate the students' motivation to the areas of technology such as electronics and programming and permits its development as a student project and thesis. Results allow validating the proposed cockpit.

modeling from the perspectives of software engineering and systems engineering have co-evolved over the last two decades as orthogonal approaches. Given the central role of software in modern cyber-physical systems and the increasing adoption of digital engineering practices in complex systems design, there is now significant opportunity for collaborative design among system users, software developers, and systems engineers. Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and systems modeling languages can support seamless cross-domain connectivity for design, simulation, and analysis of emerging technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR). This paper presents a co-design process for extending the capability of an existing AR application referred to as a No-Code AR Systems (NCARS) framework. NCARS enables content developed by multi-domain authors to be deployed on AR devices through a software layer that bridges the content to the game engine that drives the AR system. Utilizing a software dependency diagram of the AR Annotation function, an existing MBSE model of the AR system is extended to include the structure and behavior of relevant software components. This allows a modular design of the system to address needs in integrating new requirements into the existing application. New user requirements for tracking items in motion in the user's physical environment with virtual annotations in the augmented space are collaboratively designed and visualized through use case, block definition, internal block, and sequence diagrams. They capture the required structure and behavior of the proposed to-be system.

More than half of the world's population suffers from caries disease. Despite the various preventive measures, the problem has not decreased. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the planning of preventive programs. The aim of this paper is to present the agent-based simulation (ABS) framework to observe changes in students’ oral health awareness under the influence of their closest environment, as an important factor that should be taken into account at the stage of planning preventive programs. Oral health awareness, which is a broadly understood attitude towards various aspects of oral health, was named an individual attitude (IA). The IA may be positive or negative. An ABS model was built and three experiments were carried out. The proposed ABS model made it possible to observe changes in the IA of students. A stronger force of positive attitudes of students, on their closest peers, may result in more students, within a class, with a positive IA. This research is part of a larger project;the ABS framework presented is an element of a hybrid model combining ABS with discrete event simulation (DES), which may enable support for the comprehensive planning of preventive programs dedicated to children in primary schools in Poland. The development of modern aviation industry urgently needs a large number of high-level flight simulation device (FSD) for multiple applications such as technologies research, aircraft test and pilot training. Traditionally, these FSD are manufactured by different TDM to meet individual requirement, which may encounter difficulty in correctness, integrity or fidelity. How to develop the FSD and its simulation packages for research, engineering and training scenarios with a more coordinated and efficient methodology is the key to the development of high-level FSD for one particular aircraft project. This paper proposes that FSD shall be classified, according to development process and control requirements into three categories, which are Flight simulation Training Device (FSTD), Flight simulation Engineering Device (FSED) and Flight simulation Research Device (FSRD). In particular, the simulation package provide the basis for the evolution of the multiple applications of the FSD. In this paper, the key design of FSD and simulation packages is given by proposing a technical strategy, which is based on system engineering (SE), with the development of FSED simulation packages as the central objective, and evolving and applying them to more mission such as research and training by validation and verification (V&V) of the requirement. This technical strategy shows major value (1) in optimizing correctness, integrity, and fidelity through process assurance, (2) in shortening the development cycle and reducing the cost by reducing duplication of efforts, (3) in reducing the technical risk of the simulation package, which is accompanied by aircraft and system design and development, and (4) in standardizing and eliminating of inconsistencies of the simulation modeling data, which is oriented from FSED with rigor configuration management. This research intends to promote the development of the domestic aircraft and the growth of the FSD-connected technology. © The Author(s) 2

Building information modeling has been widely adopted in the construction industry in the last decade. To better prepare students for the construction industry's needs nationwide, many construction programs either have a BIM course in the curriculum or integrate BIM topics in various courses. Construction-related BIM topics include information modeling, design coordination, clash detection, process virtualization, virtual design and construction, and various integration with technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, drones, and laser scanners. Researchers have advanced BIM studies in recent years. However, the implementation of BIM courses still varies widely in construction management programs. These courses may be taught at different levels, and the content varies significantly among instructors. The authors investigated BIM course learning objectives, outcomes, and contents at various universities and concluded common topics that are essential in the course. Findings suggest that BIM can be taught in four approaches to help construction students understand the various applications of BIM in different project phases, including design, construction, and operation and maintenance. Furthermore, the findings provide valuable insights for educators to improve BIM courses to meet the needs of the construction industry. This paper emphasizes the importance of BIM education and provides recommendations for teaching BIM courses in construction management programs.
