Liquid simulation is very difficult since it has a clear boundary and a large amount of dynamic deformation, while solid has a clear boundary with a small amount of deformation and gas has an unclear boundary with a large amount of dynamic deformation. There are two types of liquid: Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid. Viscoelastic fluid is one of the non-newtonian fluids and the behavior has a unique feature called "spinnability", which shows long stretch and sudden shrink like a rubber since it has both characteristics of viscosity and elasticity. To simulate the behavior of the viscoelastic fluid, some constitutive equations were proposed;however, there is no established one. Then, we have been researching the method to simulate the behavior of spinnability by constructing the constitutive equation with the combination of the viscous and the elastic stresses;however, the summation of the stress coefficients did not equal 1.0. In addition, the stretch length was short because the middle area of the viscoelastic fluid became very thin and there was no particle in the area. On the other hand, real viscoelastic fluid is composed of so many small molecules even when it becomes very thin. Therefore, we propose a method to make the summation of the stress coefficients 1.0 and to insert a spring in the middle thin area of the viscoelastic fluid and interpolate the empty space with some virtual particles for visualization of spinnability until the spring is broken. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death all over the world and is characterized by ailments affecting cardiovascular structures, such as the heart failure, arrhythmia, and coronary artery diseases. It has multiple roots based on genetic influences on the disease, meals, drinks, physical inactivity, or presence of other diseases including hypertension, and diabetes. Heart diseases are still rampant in the world despite the development in the research on diseases and in healthcare. This is mainly because of the increasing average life span of individuals as well as increased cases of urbanization and adoption of poor-quality diets and leading inactive or sedentary lives. Such problems further escalate due to shortcomings in healthcare provision and preventive options by socioeconomic differences, especially affecting the needy populace. Hence, there is a rising focus on using complex technologies such as artifices and machine intelligence, along with big data analytics and predictive models, in handling these issues. These methodologies utilize computational methods and large-scale data to enhance risk assessment, optimize treatment pathways, and alleviate the overall burden of cardiac disease on healthcare systems and individuals. The concentration of this research is on the systematic application of rigorous data preprocessing, class imbalance correction using techniques such as SMOTE, and outlier management using methods such as IQR, in order to improve the effectiveness of predictive modelling. This study intends to improve predictive accuracy and model generalizability, thereby contributing to improvements in healthcare decision-making and patient care outcomes, by utilizing the RFAP hybrid technique for feature selection and Random Forest for modelling. © 2024 IEEE.

Industrial internet and edge computing brings lots of new opportunities for traditional industrial automation systems. With massive computing, storage, and communication resources available on field devices, a single device can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Real-time and non-real-time industrial applications can operate on the same edge device easily. The IEC 61499 is proposed to be used as the system-level modeling language for industrial edge applications. To support the concurrent execution of function block networks, the semantics are given in this paper. The event splitting and merging rules are investigated to ensure the determinism of parallel executions. Finally, the concurrent execution semantics are implemented in the IEC 61499 runtime environment and performance is analyzed. © 2023 IEEE.

Industry 5.0 emphasizes human-centric approaches in technological advancement, particularly crucial in healthcare applications such as prosthetics development. While individual technologies like additive manufacturing, machine learning, digital twins, and tissue engineering have shown promise in prosthetics innovation, their integration remains a significant challenge. This paper presents a novel multidisciplinary framework developed through the National Centre for High-Performance Computing (CN-HPC) project, which addresses the gap between individual technological capabilities and their coordinated application in personalized prosthetics development. The framework, implemented through collaboration between six research groups from two universities, employs the House of Quality methodology to align technological integration with patient needs. Our approach encompasses a comprehensive seven-step process, from initial patient requirements definition through virtual modeling, production process optimization, virtual sensing, machine learning enhancement, digital twin simulation, to advanced tissue engineering. A data model facilitates seamless information exchange between different technological domains and research groups. This research contributes to the field by providing a scalable, human-centered framework for technology integration in medical device development, potentially extending beyond prosthetics to other healthcare applications. The proposed framework represents a significant step toward realizing the full potential of Industry 5.0 in healthcare manufacturing through the systematic integration of advanced technologies for delivering personalized prosthetic solutions. © 2024 The Authors. A massive decrease in seagrass coverage in the Philippines has been observed in the past several years due to coastal eutrophication and typhoons. It is key to observe the changes and probable damage in seagrass habitat and develop a way to scientifically back up recovery strategies such as transplantation to increase the probability of rehabilitation success. This study describes the framework development of a transplantation scenario evaluation tool that performs Thalassia hemprichii growth simulation within an uproot site in Palawan as a case study. The growth parameters used include shoot leaf area, spacer length, plastochrone interval, and life expectancy, and horizontal apex density. Base scenario and three scenarios with varying combinations of transplantation density and distribution were applied to the three 4 x 4 grid plots with 24 x 24 cm cell size from classified drone imagery. Results show that transplantation distribution has a greater weight than density with respect to the percent cover responses. Based on the mean and standard deviation of percent cover responses, scenario 1 having 4 transplants with 24 cm intervals is the most suitable for plots 1 and 2, while scenario 2 having 8 transplants (2 per cell) with 24 cm intervals for plot 3.

This study investigates the design, analysis, and simulation of integrated guidance and control of launch vehicles using robust disturbance observer backstepping control for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) applications. Integrated Guidance and Control (IGC) architecture is becoming more popular for launch vehicle technology. Guidance and control loops are merged in IGC to save designing time and improve the accuracy and performance of the launch vehicle. In this research, the IGC is developed for the tracking reference trajectory of Russian launch vehicle Zenit-2 available in literature. During the IGC design, non-linear disturbance observer law is designed and merged into the backstepping controller to manage the impact of the nonlinearity factors. Non-linear disturbance observer bounds the controller to track the reference path robustly. Two controllers are required to fully track the trajectory, i.e., pitch rate backstepping controller and velocity backstepping controller. Each controller is designed with its separate disturbance observer, which caters to disturbances in each parameter. For analysis and verification, two sets of disturbance signals were applied to both controllers. One disturbance signal is a sinusoidal wave, while the other is a combination of a sinusoidal and tangent wave. Results showed that the launch vehicle successfully tracked the reference trajectory under applied disturbances. During this study, MATLAB / SIMULINK is used to design, analyze, and simulate the analytical system. For efficient computing, the ODE solver in MATLAB implements a Runge-Kutta technique with a variable time step with high accuracy. This research is beneficial for a launch vehicle's design and control simulation. It can be used to compute thrust and deflection variation to follow the desired trajectory to obtain a particular orbit under applied disturbances.

Device-to-Device (D2D) communications is one of the promising technologies for future fifth-generation cellular networks (5G). The first step to enable D2D communication is to discover neighbor devices and choose which will establish a D2D communication link. The limited battery life, discovery resources and the growing number of devices bind the current discovery protocols, so we need to find a new discovery protocol that goes with the next 5G cellular network. In this paper, we propose a new discovery protocol "MEC Discovery"based on Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) for D2D communication in 5G. The MEC server will discover neighbor devices for a User Equipment (UE) when requested and keep track of discovered devices in case other UEs ask for the same information with D2D mode in the near future. Our simulation results indicate a huge dropping in power consumption by the UE and reduced interferences caused by many devices doing discovery simultaneously in the same area. © 2024 IEEE.

Our study centers on conducting an extensive survey of AI and ML techniques as applied to renewable resource management, practical analyses using Linear and Polynomial Regression models are performed on a real-world dataset to showcase the applicability and benefits of AI and ML in renewable resource management. The overarching goal is to unravel how AI and ML methodologies can elevate decision-making processes, finetune resource utilization strategies, and foster sustainable energy practices within the renewable resource sector. This paper offers a detailed examination of the transformative impact of AI and ML techniques on the renewable energy landscape. It delves into the pivotal role played by predictive modeling, optimization algorithms, and data analytics in surmounting the challenges inherent in renewable resource management. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper provides an investigation of a monopole antenna that possesses two key characteristics: it is compact in size and highly effective in terms of performance. It offers wide-ranging connectivity for communication purposes, including Wireless Fidelity Wi-Fi (3.1 GHz) and Wireless Local Area Network WLAN (5.5 GHz) the designed model can operate in the sub-band 6-GHz band. To attain this, we designed 4 different antennas with different cuts of patch. It is constructed out of 28 x 28 x 1.6 mm commercially available FR4 material and presents the results of modeling with optimization based on electromagnetic simulation. From the current designs, basic antenna-1 radiates at dual frequencies 3.4 GHz & 4.8 GHz. Antenna -2 radiates at triband of frequencies 3.2 GHz, 4.8 GHz & 6.4 GHz. Antenna - 4 radiates at dual frequencies 4.8 GHz & 6.8 GHz. Antenna -4 at 6.8 GHz. © 2024 IEEE.

Based on the research status of flapping-wing aircraft at home and abroad, the overall scheme of bionic flapping-wing aircraft is established in this paper. In the aspect of trajectory planning, the three-dimensional modeling and simulation analysis of bionic flapping-wing aircraft are carried out, and a new flapping-wing mechanism is adopted. Finally, the trajectory of flapping-wing aircraft is analyzed from the point of view of the operation, and verification experiments are carried out to obtain the best flapping-wing effect. © 2024 The Authors.
