In Peru, the public sector of environmental regulatory agencies still presents enormous challenges in data connectivity, due to its geographic complexity. Remote air quality monitoring stations need to achieve interoperability in order to transmit raw data from remote data loggers to centralized data centers. Proper microservices software architecture and other design patterns (API REST) were developed with the formal Attribute Driven Design (ADD) method version 3 to achieve scalability, interoperability, and proper performance. For regulatory purposes, testing and validation stages were achieved through an asynchronous data quality process that was performed in an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). Then, for analytic purposes, data simulation was executed on an Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model built on real data of sulfur dioxide and particulate matter with a diameter of less than 2.5 and 10 mu (year 2020). The simulation of the model and the dashboards were coded in the R language. A Peruvian government agency in charge of environmental assessment tasks and the national standards of environmental quality air are taken as a reference case.

In this paper, the 3D visual display and generation of target in optoelectronic tracking are researched by simulation. 3ds max software is used to model the target, the target model is converted into code files by Deep Exploration and added into the system model. The key point is to associate the target model track and size ratio with the actual target to approach the real battlefield environment. The image data provided by the scene building is tracked by the internal image processing algorithm of photoelectric tracking such as the Canny-based edge tracking. The experiment will compare the tracking of the same target in same algorithm but different backgrounds, and the same backgrounds but different algorithm. Result can see that through the experimental data, the application of the simulated sky background, and the proportion relationship between real target and target in simulation scene, provides a high authenticity data support for the image processing algorithm of self-propelled gun photoelectric tracking system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Forest fires severely damage forest resources and endanger human survival and the environment. A forest fire spread model is established based on the principle of cellular automata, which is helpful to make deductions and judgments on the occurrence and development of forest fires and provides technical support for emergency rescue. Through field investigation of forest fires in the Yaji Mountain area of Beijing, the real elevation map of Yaji Mountain was processed by ArcMap as the 3D terrain for simulation modeling. The model guarantees the real and reliable Yaji Mountain environment of simulated terrain, reflects the spreading characteristics of forest fires, and has good simulation results.

The simulation study plays a crucial role in making sure that the control strategies for autonomous operations of air vehicles could be developed and implemented in the most safe, efficient, and economical way possible. More specifically, this paper is focused on the modelling and controlbased simulation study for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) named as Zagi flying wing. First-of-all, the short-period dynamics of the UAV is obtained from the rigid body equations of motion and further, it is represented in the state-space and transfer function models. Subsequently, a feedback control system is established for controlling the pitch attitude of the UAV by considering the controller, actuator, UAV dynamics, sensor, etc. in the loop. Here, the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) based control action is chosen due to its simplicity, reliability, robustness, and easy implementation on the hardware. A separate study is also conducted by considering P, PI, PD, and PID based control actions in controlling the pitch attitude of the UAV. The comparative analysis of these controllers in the simulation study reveals the appropriate choice for controlling the attitude dynamics of the UAV in the present analysis. It is also evident from this study that the UAV simulation is crucial in enhancing the control methodologies while offering a deeper insight into the UAV’s performance.

Retinal vascular segmentation is essential for the early identification and monitoring of numerous ocular and systemic conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and hypertension. The emergence of deep learning methodologies, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and U-Net architectures, has markedly enhanced the precision and efficacy of retinal vascular segmentation. This review paper extensively examines contemporary deep learning methodologies, concentrating on model structures, problems, and assessment measures. This paper discusses the strengths of deep learning techniques in improving upon the limitations of traditional image processing methods, such as thresholding and edge detection, while handling complex vascular structures and varied image quality. It also emphasizes the availability of publicly accessible datasets, namely DRIVE, STARE, and CHASE_DB1, as research tools in this discipline. Despite this significant progress, a lot remains to be desired, including large-scale annotated datasets, computational demand, and problems in generalization across diverse populations. Finally, the paper concluded with some future directions by integrating explainable deep learning, multi-modal imaging, and the development of lightweight models that are more appropriate for real-time clinical use.

Multilevel inverters(MLI) are now widely used in industrial and domestic applications. The multilevel inverter improves the voltage quality compared with the conventional inverter. However, due to the presence of more components, MLI is less reliable. Even fault in a single switch could lead to unbalance of output line voltages. This paper discusses the fault-Tolerant operation of Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) Multilevel Inverter with modified neutral point shift (NPS) technique. If there is a fault in any cells of CHB, it is bypassed and then the NPS technique is implemented to tolerate the fault. Bypassing the faulty cellto isolateit that will not contribute to theoutput;hence it can be later removed for maintenance. It allows the operation to be continued rather than completely shutting down the operation. But after NPS implementation the voltage is balanced but less than that of a healthy system. This paper presents a modified NPS technique, which maintains MLI output voltages at pre-fault conditions. In this paper, fault-Tolerant control technique is presented with its mathematical modeling. This modeling is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink for 3-phase CHB. Faults at various cells are created to verify the performance of the system. © 2022 IEEE.

The generation of terahertz (THz) frequency comb emission by intracavity difference frequency generation (DFG) in a mid-infrared (mid-IR) quantum cascade laser (QCL) is a promising alternative to direct THz QCL frequency comb generation. Concerning their room temperature operation capabilities, these devices are well suited for applications in rotational molecular spectroscopy and sensing. In order to better understand the second-order nonlinear mixing process required for the THz frequency comb generation, we present an extensive analysis of such THz DFG-QCL comb devices using a full-wave Maxwell-Bloch equation solver. All input parameters for the Maxwell-Bloch simulations, e.g. scattering rates or dephasing rates, are calculated self-consistently using an ensemble Monte Carlo simulation toolbox. © 2022 IEEE.

The promise of telecommunication networks to deliver more demanding and complex applications requires them to become more flexible and efficient. To achieve better performance, telecommunication networks adopt technologies such as NFV (Network Function Virtualization). However, this evolution also brings more potential risks to the telecommunication network. Reliability and resilience are becoming critical for service delivery in the networks. To answer to service requirements of high level availability and reliability, a model with a global view of infrastructure, virtual network elements, and network layer structure is required. Toward this end, this paper presents a Petri Net method to model 5G and beyond telecommunication networks. We introduce an extended Petri Net to model physical infrastructure, virtual infrastructure, network services, their behaviors, and dependencies. We present a simulation result on network availability estimation. This result shows the potential of the Petri Net-based model to be applied to a complex telecommunication system resilience assessment.

Mobile networks that implement real-time distributed tasks of searching for certain regions on the surface are considered. It is shown that the time for solving such problems significantly depends on the age of the information available in network nodes, and the age, in turn, depends on the duration of disconnectedness periods of network. Algorithms for controlling the connectivity of mobile sensor search networks have been proposed, which significantly increase the speed of finding areas containing objects of a given type. The effectiveness of the algorithms has been assessed. Based on the simulation results, the possibility of solving optimization problems for determining the composition of network node equipment is shown.

This article investigates proximity-coupled stacked patches for millimeter-wave applications ranging from 76 GHz to 81 GHz. The proposed three-dimensional architecture includes aperture feeding, three substrates, two Roha cells, aperture ground, and two patches. Its full wave simulation model is implemented and optimized in Computer simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio Suit 2019 for the visual 3D results in the mentioned frequency range. Initially, the design is tested for the reflection coefficients for mmWave applications. The proposed proximity-coupled stacked patches exhibited remarkable efficiency greater than 85% and realized a higher gain of approximately 12 dB at all frequencies. These results demonstrate the validation and optimization of the suggested design, paving the path for its potential applications in real-world millimeter-wave technology.
