Based on muti-cell thin-walled structures, construct variety of circular, octagonal, hexagonal multi-cell thin-walled tubes, energy absorption characteristics were studied. Used ANSYS to 12 different cross-sectional shapes of thin-walled tubes axial compression characteristics to nonlinear numerical simulation. The best cross-sectional shape was determined by comparing the energy absorption of different cross-sectional shapes. The thickness of inner and outer walls of thin-walled tubes and stiffened ribs were taken as design variables. Taking the strain energy density and peak force as targets, a response surface model was fitted and multi-objective optimization was performed. The optimization results show that strain energy density and compression efficiency are improved under premise of small peak force. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Urban-scale building energy modeling (UBEM) holds promise for optimizing energy usage across extensive geographic regions. However, there is a recognized bias between simulated energy consumption and actual measured data. This study, based on building data from Chicago, delved into bias correction techniques for enhancing the accuracy of UBEM energy consumption estimates. Initially, the AutoBEM simulation yielded a normalized mean bias error (NMBE) of 1.1% and 51% of Coefficient of the Variation of the Root Mean Square Error (CVRMSE) after outlier exclusion. To address this, three bias correction methods were deployed: Average Mean Bias Error based bias correction, Quantile mapping bias correction, and Machine learning-based bias correction using Linear Regression and Random Forest models. Post-correction results exhibited marked improvement. The NMBE values were diminished to 0 for Average MBE-based, 0.36 for Quantile Mapping, and 0 for Machine Learning-based corrections. Concurrently, the CVRMSE values registered reductions from an original 51 to 50.8 for Quantile Mapping, and 38.56 for Machine Learning-based corrections, pointing towards the effectiveness of specific bias correction methods in refining the precision of UBEM energy predictions. Such accurate estimations are paramount for informed energy planning and urban policy-making. © 2023 IEEE.

The boom system of the aerial platform vehicle and the fire-rescue turntable ladder can be considered as a long boom manipulator. Due to the slenderness of the boom structure, there are always some vibrations occurring during the operation. In order to control the vibration, reliable dynamic modeling and simulation are necessary. In this paper, we propose a model of the long boom manipulator, especially the folding boom system, as a flexible-rigid coupled multi-body system. And the flexible long boom structure is formulated as a geometrically exact Euler-Bernoulli beam with hybrid interpolation for discretization. The governing equations of the system dynamics are established according to the principle of virtual power. A dynamic simulation of the spatial motion of the long boom manipulator is performed and the results are analyzed.

This study addresses the issue of non-smooth playback of video in remote video transmission using the SPICE protocol by proposing an optimization scheme based on the Dynamic Particle Swarm Optimization (DPSO) algorithm. By incorporating an efficient data compression algorithm through DPSO, the proposed scheme significantly reduces bandwidth consumption while ensuring video quality, thereby enhancing transmission efficiency and improving the real-time and smooth delivery of video. simulation results demonstrate that the proposed optimization scheme has notable effects on improving remote video transmission quality and user experience. The DPSO-based optimization of the SPICE protocol exhibits excellent performance in complex network environments and effective addresses key issues in existing protocols. This research provides important technical support and methodologies for optimizing the SPICE protocol in practical applications, laying the foundation for the future development of remote desktop technology.

An automatic solid material feeding system (ASMFS) consists of a conveyor, motor, controller, sensor, etc., and was used to consistently and continuously transfer solids from one position to another position under controlled conditions for various applications. The accuracy of an ASMFS depends on the size of the solid particle, mass flow rate of the particle, and design of the screw feeding system and control system. The ASFMS system was designed in CAD software and mathematically modeled using a bond graph. The bond graph approach is the most physical approach for understanding the true physics behind a system. The bond graph approach helped us to understand the system as a unified one despite having different subdomains within the system. The PID control of the mass flow rate was simulated using MATLAB. Various parameters, such as the mass flow rate of the particle and variables such as the motor speed and torque, are studied in this paper to achieve the desired steady-state value and time. Mass flow rate 1 kg/s with steady state time 1 sec. maintain with PID controller.

Advancements in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies suggest that AR/VR devices will soon become widely accessible. Despite this growth, there remains a lack of specialized virtual keyboard systems optimized for AR/VR interactions. To address this, we propose a multi-layer virtual keyboard system utilizing pinch-based gesture recognition, specifically designed for AR/VR applications. Our simulation model demonstrates that the proposed system achieves significantly faster typing speeds due to its layered structure and gesture-based interface, resulting in substantial gains in user input efficiency and experience compared to traditional keyboard solutions.

The goal of this study is to model a drinking water network and provide a novel geomatics 13 solution to control it using an efficient mechanism: lizmap, an Open Source webGIS application, the 14 most popular and well-known free, also a plugin used with QGIS to publish maps online. The join 15 of QGIS and Lizmap guarantees an easy way to create a free and open-source Web-GIS. Due to 16 technical issues with water supply and the growth of the population concentration in the urban 17 grouping of Ben M’sik District of the city of Casablanca, sustainable management, optimization of 18 the performance of the drinking water system, and reduction of losses, have generated a variety of 19 strategies for exploiting existing geoportal-based technologies for managing these networks and 20 their intervention orders. By utilizing these applications, Casablanca might enter the ranks of intel- 21 ligent cities. Only management using geomatics solution by creating a geoportal for the administra- 22 tion of drinking water that is capable of addressing these issues can improve knowledge of the drinking water equipment as well as the detection of disorders that occur, the simulation of opera- 24 tions, the design of extensions, the decision-making to the location choice and future situation of the 25 network. A thorough experimental investigation of Monte Carlo algorithms based on Halton and Sobol scrambling algorithms has been performed for the first time for the model under consideration. For scrambling Halton sequence, we use a permutation of the radical inverse coefficients derived by applying a reverse-radix operation to all of the possible coefficient values. For scrambling Sobol sequence, we use random linear scramble combined with a random digital shift. These methods have never been applied and compared before for the Unified Danish Eulerian model and this motivates our study. The novelty of the proposed approaches is that Halton scrambling algorithm has been applied for the first time to sensitivity studies of the particular air pollution model. The computational experiments demonstrate that the proposed stochastic approaches are efficient for the considered multidimensional integrals evaluation and especially for computing small by value sensitivity indices which are very important for the reliability of the mathematical model. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative solution for decentralized applications, significantly affecting various sectors. Despite its potential, evaluating blockchain performance remains a complex challenge due to its multifaceted nature. This paper overviews important performance parameters like throughput, latency, energy efficiency or resource consumption, scalability and security. After studying different performance parameters and base in weighted importance, these evaluation parameters are grouped by category. This study explores evaluation criteria, and various modelling techniques (Benchmarking, simulation, Empirical Analysis, and Analytical modeling) used to analyses blockchain performance to discuss their effectiveness in capturing the intricacies of blockchain operations. The goal is to provide a comprehensive study for evaluating blockchain systems, suggest a comprehensive framework and future research in this domain. © 2024 IEEE.

The system uses interactive 3D engine technology and gesture interaction technology to train operators and provide strong talent guarantee and intellectual support for the successful operation of the grid company.
