This research paper presents the design and simulation of a novel architecture for Multiple Path Fully Differential Operational Transconductance Amplifiers (OTAs) with a Dual Flipped Voltage Follower, specifically developed for VLSI-based signal processing applications. Utilizing advanced 50nm CMOS technology and Cadence tools, the proposed OTA architecture achieves enhanced performance and versatility in handling various signal processing tasks. Design employs multiple signal paths, which contribute to improvements in bandwidth, gain, and linearity, while also effectively minimizing common-mode noise. This multi-path approach ensures better signal integrity and reliability in high-performance applications. The integration of the Dual Flipped Voltage Follower further strengthens the OTA's stability and dynamic range, allowing it to operate seamlessly in high-speed VLSI systems. The architecture is designed to cater to the rigorous demands of modern signal processing, where precision and speed are critical. Extensive simulation studies were conducted to validate the OTA design, and the results demonstrate that the proposed approach meets or exceeds the stringent requirements of today's signal processing applications. Findings of this research contribute to the ongoing advancements in VLSI design methodologies and provide a promising solution for engineers working with nanoscale CMOS technologies. simulation results using Cadence tools highlights effectiveness and robustness of proposed design.

For portable electronics applications such as computer backlights, AC/DC and DC/DC converters, miniature piezo transformers are developed and modeled. The basic kinds of piezoelectric transformations are modeled with similar equivalent circuit. This paper introduced a proposed a radial vibration mode piezoelectric transformer. The model included its equivalent circuit and a methodology for acquiring its parameters within the circuit. The model is tested by experimentral data from AP841 highest purity lead zirconate / lead titanate ceramics piezo transformator. The accuracy from the simulation is under 10 % similar to APC 841 tolerance. After the model validation, the radial type piezoelectric transdromer with Rochelle Salt layers is developed. Are comparasion and analysis between parameters of both transformers are presented.

In this study, we investigate the modeling and design of a rectangular patch antenna, which features a microstrip feed line and is specifically intended for UHF band applications. Our work provides a detailed exploration of the design process, which involved careful analysis and optimization of various antenna parameters to achieve the desired performance characteristics. One of the key findings of our study is the excellent agreement between the results obtained from the designed antenna structures and those obtained from both simulation and experimental testing. This provides a high degree of confidence in the accuracy and reliability of our design, which can be expected to perform well in real-world applications. The resonant frequency of the antenna is a crucial parameter, and our simulation and design results indicate that it is $f_{r}=2.25\ \text{GHz}$ and $f_{r}=2.26\ \mathbf{GHz}$ , respectively. These values are consistent with our expectations, and the minor discrepancy is within the acceptable margin of error. To achieve these results, we used CST software.

Understanding complex systems requires understanding interactions between different domains and different scales. Pandemic science serves as an exemplar of such complex systems. During the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant amount of health surveillance infrastructure had to be created on the fly. This infrastructure, while useful in many cases, was unable to provide individual-level data across relevant domains due to limitations and privacy barriers. Finding technical solutions to these barriers requires a careful evaluation at scale. Synthetic information (sometimes known as digital twins) coupled with detailed mechanistic models are potent, but underutilized, tools for representing and analyzing complex societal systems. In this paper, we describe how synthetic information can be used to evaluate these technical solutions, and thereby support pandemic preparedness and response. As an illustration, we describe a problem and synthetic data sets that have recently been successfully used as part of a joint US-UK challenge on evaluating privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). We additionally describe several key decisions we had to make, particularly in navigating the boundary between realism and artificiality. This competition is part of a larger vision for using synthetic data to break the vicious cycle of data stagnation. However, to fully realize this vision for a larger set of domain areas will require advancements in several domains, as we describe in this vision paper.

We propose a novel edit distance-tolerant content addressable memory (EDAM) for energy-efficient approximate search applications. Unlike state-of-the-art approximate search solutions that tolerate certain Hamming distance between the query pattern and the stored data, EDAM tolerates edit distance, which makes it especially efficient in applications such as text processing and genome analysis. EDAM was designed using a commercial 65 nm 1.2 V CMOS technology and evaluated through extensive Monte Carlo simulations, while considering different process corners. simulation results show that EDAM can achieve robust approximate search operation with a wide range of edit distance threshold levels. EDAM is functionally evaluated as a pathogen DNA detection and classification accelerator. EDAM achieves up to 1.7x higher F-1 score for high-quality DNA reads and up to 19.55x higher F-1 score for DNA reads with 15% error rate, compared to state-of-the-art DNA classification tool Kraken2. Simulated at 667 MHz, EDAM provides 1, 214x average speedup over Kraken2. This makes EDAM suitable for hardware acceleration of genomic surveillance of outbreaks, such as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Analog and mixed-signal (A/MS) IC design is still a largely manual process. It lags far behind its digital counterpart were synthesis methods automate many key design steps. This advantage in digital roots from the possibility of a high degree of abstraction with manageable information loss from which a highly systematic digital flow arose. Not only does it incorporate automation throughout, but it also links the individual flow steps by well-defined interfaces. In analog, to the contrary, both a comparable flow approach and automation is largely missing. Even though key design steps, such as schematic and layout, are meanwhile linked well, other important steps, like breaking down a specification to a suitable topology, are not yet in place. Therefore, design teams develop individual design approaches in order to handle the complexity of analog design all the way from specification to layout. A major challenge is the lack of reproducibility, which roots from the lack of expert knowledge stored in the design data. Thus, in this tutorial paper, we address the shortcomings of the A/MS design flow and discuss how knowledge-based automaton methods can both systematize and automate key design steps. Also, we discuss how the steps can be linked together in order to form a systematic design flow. Our proposed A/MS IC design design flow considers automation from specification over schematic level to the layout level.

Epilepsy is a disorder of the brain characterized by repeated seizures. A seizure is usually defined as a sudden alteration of behavior due to a temporary change in the electrical functioning of the brain. The emergence of deep learning methodologies has incentivized inventive applications within the domain of medical diagnostics, specifically concerning the prediction of epileptic seizures. In the existing method SVM classifiers was used to differentiate between seizure and non-seizure states based on the extracted features, providing a well-established machine learning framework for binary classification tasks. Used ensemble learning strategies, such as Random Forests and Decision Trees, to combine several models and identify intricate links in the EEG data, improving classification accuracy and accuracy is upto 89.7%. The convolutional Transformer Model, the deep learning architecture designed for precise and timely prediction of epileptic seizures, is proposed in this project. By utilizing the complex patterns and intrinsic focal relationships found in EEG signals, the model is able to extract subtle information that is essential for differentiating between preictal states. Compared to other approaches, the EEG Conformer Model performs better at predicting seizures after training on a large dataset of CHB MIT EEG database. By adding conformer blocks, the model is better to identify long-range dependencies in EEG sequences, which increases prediction accuracy. This project focuses on the development and implementation of an EEG conformer model for epileptic seizure prediction, employing deep learning methodologies. By training the model on diverse and extensive datasets, it is expected to learn and generalize underlying patterns, enabling it to predict seizures with a high degree of accuracy.

RISC-V Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) is gaining significant popularity in Europe as the main driver for developing open source hardware. Commercial products and academic prototypes based on RISC-V become increasingly available, including cores, components and full systems-on-chip (SoCs). While those RISC-V IPs are suitable for many markets, those with safety requirements (e.g., automotive, space, avionics, health, railway) need specific support rarely available in RISC-V developments. Such support relates to observability and controllability features to ease verification, validation and the implementation of safety measures. Among those requirements, SoCs targeting the most stringent safety levels must provide some form of diverse redundancy to avoid the so-called Common Cause Failures (CCFs). This work presents and compares some technologies providing diverse redundancy for cores that lack appropriate native support (e.g., dual-core lockstep - DCLS). In particular, we introduce the SafeDX group of components, which include two components enforcing diverse redundancy across cores, either by hardware means (SafeDE) or software-only means (SafeSoftDR), as well as one component measuring the diversity across two cores executing redundant tasks (SafeDM). We show the different tradeoffs in terms of software constraints, hardware intrusiveness, and compatibility with existing SoCs that make each of the three SafeDX components best suited for alternative deployment scenarios.

Elastic optical networks (EONs) have become a highly effective solution to address the exploding traffic demand driven by 5G/6G and cloud applications. Leveraging advanced optical technologies, EONs offer high allocation efficiency and flexibility. With the network function virtualization paradigm, critical network functionalities can be instantiated as software-based virtual network functions (VNFs) deployed within the net-work's data centers. An end-to-end service can then be composed as an ordered set of VNFs called as service function chain (SFC). Developing effective strategies for recovering SFCs after a disaster is a crucial challenge. In this work, we propose a new disaster recovery algorithm for data center EONs called DRAMA-DC. An auxiliary graph framework is developed to recover the affected SFCs and minimize the blocking ratio. simulation results demonstrate the superior performance of DRAMA-DC in comparison to a baseline recovery algorithm, and the performance tradeoffs for recovery parameters.
