Considering the importance of the recent renewed interest in geometric specification management in industry and academia, along with the evolving landscape of educational models post-COVID-19, the authors aimed to investigate, through a literature review, the status of educational practices on these topics. In particular, the presence of educational initiatives dedicated to geometric and functional product specifications in mechanical or industrial engineering programs was investigated, with a specific focus on standards such as ISO GPS and ASME GD&T outside the Italian context. An analysis was then conducted to identify common teaching strategies and the development of specific tools to improve the understanding of these complex topics. The review of education and training experiences revealed significant trends and insights for future training efforts. In particular, the prevalence of active learning practices emerged, and detailed course descriptions demonstrate the effectiveness of hands-on approaches, often supplemented by specific tools, in facilitating student understanding. Leveraging these trends, educators can design more effective interventions to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed with geometric specifications.

For decades there have been arguments how to teach programming in the basic courses. Supportive intervention methods to improve students' learning and methods to improve assessment process have been widely studied. There are various successful methods to each topic separately, but only a few of them fit for both. In this work, we aimed at validating ASPA a static analyser tool that supports learning and continuous feedback on programming courses. For this purpose, we designed and conduct an empirical study among 236 students enrolled in the basic programming course, that voluntary adopted the tools during the project development activities. We first profiled the students, then, evaluated the attitude toward using ASPA, the perceived ease of use, and the perceived usefulness. Results showed that ASPA is a good helper for the entire course and especially the student's programming assignments, and it also helps to improve the students' grades.

Analyzing developers' activity is an essential step in understanding a software project. When assessing the status of a project and studying its history and development, it is vital to assess the performance of each contributor with high precision. Unfortunately, as Version Control Systems (VCS) do not manage the concept of developer identity in a precise fashion, it is often hard to connect a single identity with all the contributions a user has made to the project, by taking into account potential aliases of the same person. Our work aims to bridge this gap by processing the information related to the identities of contributors in the most popular projects available on GitHub, and to visualize their activity over time. The visualized identities are built on top of a disambiguation algorithm that aims to merge aliases of the same person into a single entity. Moreover, we perform bot detection to differentiate the activity made by bots from the one of humans. At last, we cluster the resulting identities to find users with the same activity patterns.
