Solving a linear system Ax = b is a fundamental scientific computing primitive for which numerous solvers and preconditioners have been developed. These come with parameters whose optimal values depend on the system being solved and are often impossible or too expensive to identify;thus in practice sub-optimal heuristics are used. We consider the common setting in which many related linear systems need to be solved, e.g. during a single numerical simulation. In this scenario, can we sequentially choose parameters that attain a near-optimal overall number of iterations, without extra matrix computations? We answer in the affirmative for Successive Over-Relaxation (SOR), a standard solver whose parameter ω has a strong impact on its runtime. For this method, we prove that a bandit online learning algorithm-using only the number of iterations as feedback-can select parameters for a sequence of instances such that the overall cost approaches that of the best fixed ω as the sequence length increases. Furthermore, when given additional structural information, we show that a contextual bandit method asymptotically achieves the performance of the instance-optimal policy, which selects the best ω for each instance. Our work provides the first learning-theoretic treatment of high-precision linear system solvers and the first end-to-end guarantees for data-driven scientific computing, demonstrating theoretically the potential to speed up numerical methods using well-understood learning algorithms. © 2024 12th international conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024. The advent of quantum computing has heralded unprecedented possibilities in diverse scientific domains, including electrical engineering. This research paper delves into the innovative integration of quantum computing methodologies for the time-domain simulation of electromagnetic transients in interconnected power systems. Electromagnetic transients are pivotal phenomena that influence the stability, reliability, and efficiency of power systems, necessitating accurate and rapid simulation techniques. Classical computational paradigms, albeit powerful, encounter substantial limitations in terms of computational speed and capacity when dealing with large-scale, complex interconnected power networks. To address these challenges, this paper introduces quantum algorithms that leverage the principles of superposition and entanglement, ensuring a quantum leap in simulation capabilities. A comprehensive comparison with conventional simulation methodologies is presented, highlighting the quantum algorithms' superior efficiency and precision. The quantum circuit models for various power system components are meticulously constructed and optimized for quantum resource utilization. Furthermore, the paper explores error mitigation strategies and quantum error correction codes tailored for power system applications, ensuring robustness in the presence of quantum noise and decoherence. The empirical results, obtained from simulations on quantum processors and simulators, underscore the substantial advantages and potential of quantum computing in revolutionizing electromagnetic transient analysis. This research not only paves the way for accelerated and accurate simulations but also contributes to the enhanced stability and reliability of modern interconnected power systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Objective To design an assembly system of complex equipment based on the integration of virtual and real engineering of human factors engineering by improving the comfort of assembly operators, improving assembly and operation and maintenance technology, reducing operation time, and improving the assembly and operation and maintenance efficiency of equipment. Methods This paper comprehensively considers the human factors in the assembly process, combines virtual and real fusion technology to construct a virtual assembly simulation system, and through in-depth study of motion capture, physiological acquisition, assembly sequence planning, ergonomic analysis and other technologies in the virtual assembly of complex equipment. Results Break through the traditional Tecnotamix ergonomic simulation software such as Dassault Delmia and Siemens' Tecnomatix ergonomic simulation software only through computer virtual simulation for ergonomic analysis of equipment and ignore the subjective consciousness of assembly personnel in the real physical world. The difficulty of the influence of experience, psychological characteristics, ability limits, etc. On the assembly process. Conclusion The simulation of virtual and real fusion assembly and operation and maintenance of complex system equipment based on human factors engineering is carried out, and the new generation of virtual and real simulation technology combined with physiological acquisition equipment is used to quickly build assembly scenarios and analyze the assembly and operation and maintenance process of equipment in real time, so as to provide an optimization scheme for the assembly process design of complex system equipment. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a logistics international Inland Port resource allocation method based on intelligent edge scheduling, and we do a reasonable pre-allocation of logistics resources by building an edge network in the urban system. By using multiple integrated learning models and regional prevalence classification algorithms, the distribution demand of each sub-distribution point is predicted. The proposed method is able to cope with uncertainties such as high distribution volume, variable distribution situations or long transportation distances. We use the HuaiHua international Inland Port as the simulation object, and the simulation results show that the proposed method has the highest efficiency in logistics distribution and is still highly adaptive in emergency situations. © 2023 IEEE.

As an important and critical non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technology, Sparse Code Multiple Access (SCMA) is proposed to support the massive connectivity in 5G networks. In most current SCMA studies, the user's codebook is generated from the same mother constellation. However, the existing schemes with predesigned SCMA codebooks cannot fully cope with the actual massive random access scenarios, in which different users have different requirements for transmission reliability and transmission rate. Although there have been a few studies on adaptive SCMA codebooks, the codebook can still be optimized. In this paper, we propose an adaptive SCMA system based on the requirement of user communication and optimize the design of SCMA codebook based on the Star-QAM mother constellation for different scenarios. The simulation results demonstrate that the adaptive SCMA codebook proposed in this paper exhibits improved BER performance compared to both the common non-adaptive SCMA codebooks and the existing adaptive SCMA codebooks presented in recent research for the scenarios of massive connectivity. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes a dual-frequency miniaturized antenna for implantable medical devices. The proposed antenna has two frequency bands: the mid-field frequency band (1.4-1.6 GHz), and the industrial, scientific, and medical frequency band (ISM), respectively, for wireless power transmission (WPT) and data transmission or wireless monitoring. A compact dual-frequency transmission antenna based on optimal current distribution has been proposed as a transmitter to achieve wireless power and data transmission establishment. The simulation results show that within a distance of 50mm, the transmission coefficient can reach -27.8dB. Finally, human radiation safety has a lower specific absorption rate, indicating the potential of implants. © 2024 SPIE.

In this work, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model is established to calculate the airflow distribution in the cabin of a single-channel Boeing 737-800 airplane. The RNG k-ϵ model, considering the calculation of turbulence kinetic energy and its rate of dissipation, is adopted to solve turbulence problems in physical field simulation. The proposed three-dimensional model is able to consider the particular physical factors and spatial structures, which can simulate the detailed distributions of complex physical fields, compared with the one-dimensional lumped parameter model. The velocity and temperature fields under different air supply velocities are then numerically investigated. The calculation results show that when the air velocity at the top air supply inlet is 1.4 m/s, the velocity and temperature distribution inside the cabin can both meet the comfort requirements of humans in the airworthiness standards. The results from this work can help to design an aircraft environmental control system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Executing large quantum circuits is not feasible using the currently available NISQ (noisy intermediate-scale quantum) devices. The high costs of using real quantum devices make it further challenging to research and develop quantum algorithms. As a result, performing classical simulations is usually the preferred method for researching and validating large-scale quantum algorithms. However, these simulations require a huge amount of resources, as each additional qubit exponentially increases the computational space required. Distributed Quantum computing (DQC) is a promising alternative to reduce the resources required for simulating large quantum algorithms at the cost of increased runtime. This study presents a comparative analysis of two simulation methods: circuit-splitting and full-circuit execution using distributed memory, each having a different type of overhead. The first method, using CutQC, cuts the circuit into smaller subcircuits and allows us to simulate a large quantum circuit on smaller machines. The second method, using Qiskit-Aer-GPU, distributes the computational space across a distributed memory system to simulate the entire quantum circuit. Results indicate that full-circuit executions are faster than circuit-splitting for simulations performed on a single node. However, circuit-splitting simulations show promising results in specific scenarios as the number of qubits is scaled. © 2024 IEEE.

This tutorial describes scientific python (SciPy) for solving ordinary differential equations (ODEs) appearing in diverse physical systems and a line-by-line explanation of the working codes for engineering and science students and practitioners. For better understanding, an engineering case study is considered in detail to explain the SciPy implementation. The case study belongs to a highly challenging, unstable and nonlinear underactuated system: rotary inverted pendulum (RIP). The current tutorial presents both SciPy simulations along with an experimental investigation of the RIP system. The analytical and experimental results show a good match with a maximum per cent error of the order of 10-4 units. Elapsed computational times are also compared between contemporary scientific computing platforms, such as MATLAB and SciPy. In the computational experimental trials of RIP system, it is found that the SciPy code has 84% faster computational time as compared to the same code being executed in the MATLAB environment.
