Conventional in-person teaching methods often restrict students' critical thinking capabilities as they adhere to rigid instructions for information acquisition. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the need to explore innovative educational approaches, leading to a shift towards online education. This study focuses on digital game-based learning (DGBL), which leverages the immersive nature of games to enhance the digital learning experience. The research investigates the integration of puzzle boxes, a gamification strategy, within a virtual reality-based educational game designed for university students. The study aims to explore the design of DGBL using interconnected puzzles to develop cognitive abilities, assess the impact of puzzle boxes on learning experiences, and analyze the interactive design aspects of puzzles and puzzle boxes. Participant feedback revealed that although the puzzles presented a challenge, participants exhibited high motivation to engage with the game, perceiving it as engaging, creative, and innovative. The study highlights the potential of puzzle boxes in fostering reasoning and analytical skills, expanding the learning demands, and enhancing the overall learning experience. These findings contribute to the growing body of research on DGBL and offer valuable insights for educators and instructional designers seeking to incorporate interactive and immersive elements into their teaching methodologies.

This paper presents a comprehensive study on the capabilities of class-incremental learning in the context of baseband modulation classification. Despite the growing interest in incremental learning, there is a lack of information specifically addressing its application in the radio frequency (RF) domain for modulation classification. This study aims to fill this gap by investigating the effects of incremental learning when applied to different increments of classes, methods, and types of methods like exemplars. We explore various methods including non-incremental learning, cross-entropy distillation, and bias correction, and evaluate their performance in the context of incremental learning. Multiple incremental scenarios are considered including adjusting the step size of the number of classes learned, and adjusting the number of exemplars used during incremental training. The capabilities of incremental learning are gauged based on their ability to continually learn new classes without forgetting the previously learned ones. The evaluation is performed on the DeepSig 2018A dataset, which comprises 24 classes, providing a robust platform to assess the capabilities of incremental learning. The results of this study provide valuable insights into the potential of incremental learning in baseband modulation classification.

With the rise of edge computing, deploying computing resources to edge devices close to data sources has become a paradigm for providing low latency services. This study focuses on the micro-service chain placement problem, the dynamic topology of micro-service chains, the heterogeneity of edge servers, and the diverse resource requirements of micro-services make finding the optimal placement strategy a challenging task in a dynamic edge environment. By employing the Multi-Agent Proximal Policy Optimization (MA-PPO) algorithm, we model the micro-service chain placement process as a Markov decision process and utilize deep reinforcement learning to explore the optimal strategy. This study validates the proposed MA-PPO based micro-service chain placement method through extensive simulation experiments.

With the rapid evolution of quantum computing, education in quantum technology should encompass both theoretical knowledge and practical applications relevant to industry and research. We aim to create an educational model that integrates learning, application, and research in quantum computing for students of all levels. Bridging the gap between coursework and active research, a club led by students provides comprehensive learning modules, followed by mini-challenges, which aim to engage students in active research in the field. These challenges have led to the development of web and standalone applications, contributing to both community and academic knowledge. Throughout its operation, the club has introduced a series of learning materials covering fundamental to advanced quantum computing topics, combined with hands-on challenges and projects that transitioned students from theoretical understanding to practical applications. This paper discusses the structure and outcome of the club activities, highlighting specific educational strategies taken and their educational and research achievements. Results indicate the practicality of the club's structure, evidenced by the members' contributions to the field through application development and publications. By detailing the club's methodology, achievements, and challenges, this paper aims to provide insight for educators looking to cultivate similar programs that encourage active learning and research in quantum computing.
