With more people than ever living in cities, urban sensing by the internet of Things (IoT) is necessary to create a comfortable and convenient environment. Compared with the dedicated sensor platforms, smart phones equipped with a rich set of sensors can also be exploited to realize urban sensing by the way of mobile crowdsensing. For uploading the sensing data in crowdsensing, mobile data offloading over DTNs has gained a growing interest and is warmly welcomed by delay-tolerant applications, which can tolerate some delay and do not sacrifice too much users satisfactions as well. However, the deployments of the events and the APs are independently operated by a crowdsensing platform and an infrastructure operator, respectively. The crowdsensing operator wants to upload the sensing data from the events through as much as possible access-points (APs), and the infrastructure operator wants to place less APs to cover the requirements of the sensing events. In this paper, we model the offloading relationship between the sensing event and the uploading APs by an association graph. We discuss two types of deployment mechanisms for a mobile crowdsensing system: AP deployment mechanism and event deployment mechanism. Furthermore, we model and discuss the Nash Equilibrium between the AP deployment and the event deployment. Our extensional experiments verify the effectiveness of our mechanisms.

Mobile computation offloading has recently attracted much interest and first offloading solutions have been developed. However, the relevant technical challenge of how to automatically determine offloadable sections of Android applications has not been adequately investigated so far. This paper proposes an innovative task selection algorithm that can parse an Android application autonomously and classify all the methods based on their offloadability by adopting a fine-grained and multi-steps analyzer. The reported experimental results show the effectiveness of our solution when applied to the top 25 most downloaded Android apps on the Google Play store, by showing its accuracy in identifying offloadable methods and demonstrating the potential benefits of automated mobile computation offloading.

Modern software engineering tools, technologies and approaches can radically speed up the development and engineering of multi-Tier cloud applications and may be applied to the cloud/edge/fog computing paradigm. The engineering of such cloud applications must take into account Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), such as end-user, software and cloud infrastructure requirements for low-power computing, performance, availability, elasticity, operational cost and similar. Such requirements should be identified and considered early in the software engineering process and decisions must be taken on their trade-offs, e.g. greater service availability while balancing operational costs. This paper introduces a new multi-criteria decision making approach via the use of the Pareto method to aid the software engineers with NFR trade-off adjustment possibilities. Adjustment possibilities may include geographic distribution of application tiers, horizontal and vertical scaling of virtual resources (such as Virtual Machines and containers) and similar. This work builds on top of technologies and tools developed under the SWITCH and ENTICE projects. The impact of this approach is the ability to fully tailor the adjustments of non-functional properties of the multi-Tier cloud application according to the decisions of its engineer. An early warning system cloud application is used to present the approach. © 2017 IEEE.

In this work, we raise a question on why the abundant information previously shared between a server and its client is not effectively utilized in the exchange of a new data which may be highly correlated with the shared data. We formulate this question as an encoding problem that is applicable to general data synchronization services including a wide range of internet services such as cloud data synchronization, web browsing, messaging, and even data streaming. To this problem, we propose a new encoding technique, SyncCoding that maximally replaces subsets of the data to be transmitted with the coordinates pointing to the matching subsets included in the set of relevant shared data, called references. SyncCoding can be easily integrated into a transport layer protocol such as HTTP and enables significant reduction of network traffic. Our experimental evaluations of SyncCoding implemented in Linux shows that it outperforms existing popular encoding techniques, Brotli, LZMA, Deflate, and Deduplication in two practical use networking applications: cloud data sharing and web browsing. The gains of SyncCoding over Brotli, LZMA, Deflate, and Deduplication in the encoded size to be transmitted are shown to be about 12.4%, 20.1%, 29.9%, and 61.2% in the cloud data sharing and about 78.3%, 79.6%, 86.1%, and 92.9% in the web browsing, respectively. The gains of SyncCoding over Brotli, LZMA, and Deflate when Deduplication is applied in advance are about 7.4%, 10.6%, and 17.4% in the cloud data sharing and about 79.4%, 82.0%, and 83.2% in the web browsing, respectively.

Cloud computing is an emerging technology. Based on the concept of parallel computing, it greatly enhances the data processing ability and the data storage capacity. On the other hand, the combination of medical services and the cloud computing is an important industry trend. Through the medical ''internet of Things", a huge amount of data have been gathered and should be analyzed for various cloud services. Therefore in this research, the private cloud computing system has been implemented using Apache Hadoop. Data storage of the system would be based on the HDFS as well as the cloud database HBase, and various source data have been collected and imported into the distributed storage system. Functional packages from the MLlib library as well as the RHadoop software would be utilized as tools for further data exploration. Since the impact of environmental factors on physiological functions has been one of the focuses of scientific research, in the near future we would like to validate whether environmental pollutant increases the risk of disease occurrences. The ultimate goal of research is to develop the cloud services for biomedical academic research.

This article describes a study on the assessment process of web accessibility policies adopted by 51 university websites across the world, which are ranked by Webometrics. The web accessibility assessment was aimed at validating compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0;these guidelines are defined and published by the World Wide Web Consortium. The primary goal of this study is to identify a group of universities with academic prestige and determine their level of commitment to providing accessible information about university facts and activities through their main websites, as well as making it available to everyone including people with disabilities. Awareness about the scope of web accessibility policies is a topic of interest for organizations that are operating a website. Some policies can be applied to address internet issues such as privacy of personal data and web accessibility for people with disabilities. Policies of web accessibility are dynamic in nature due to the evolution of technology;therefore, any gaps in web accessibility should be addressed immediately and applied at different levels within an organization. From a legal perspective, in some websites, policies are depicted in the legal terms posted in the website, and in the functionality and features that the website offers to its users. In the evaluation phase various parameters were tested such as the implementation of web accessibility policies, version, level, availability of contact information for complaints, conformance logo, educational information, and help and support tools. © 2017 IEEE.

With the adventure of the internet there is vast increase in the storage of information. Almost all the information exists in digital form which reduces lots of the paper work and increases ease of storage. Searching relevant information in collection of documents is a tedious task. The solution comes in picture for this problem is automatic text *** this paper, abstract summary generation of large amount of documents for big data is proposed which will consider user input as topic. The proposed system is designed using DBSCAN algorithm which works with MapReduce framework for clustering and Hidden Markov Model for summarization. The summarization process is performed in three main stages and provides a modular implementation of large numbre of documents for summarization. The proposed method follows preprocessing step in which documents are scanned with similarity and various machine learning technique are applied. The result of applying clustering enhances the summarizer system to collect exact words rather than copying redundant *** based abstract summarization from big data is challenging task particularly when there are multiple documents with same or different content. Hadoop with its programming techniques can provide better ways of generating summary and it also enhances the complexity of summarization process using distributed computing.

With the rapid development of the internet, big data era comes, and the internet, internet of things, vehicular networks are blending mutually. We need to study and solve the problem of how to process the big data. In the field of traffic, forecasting traffic flow precisely in real time is the prerequisite and basis to process the big data effectively. However, the traditional prediction algorithm of traffic flow cannot be applied to big traffic data prediction. In order to forecast big traffic flow, this paper realizes the SKmeans and SGD based online RBFNN prediction algorithm on the Storm platform. In order to achieve effective prediction, the parallelization of the algorithm is designed. In addition, combined with vertical and horizontal parallelization, the algorithm is implemented. The Experiments show that the algorithm is feasible and the accuracy can be guaranteed.
