Customer satisfaction has been acknowledged as critical success factors in any organization. Recent developments in telecom sector shows that communication services providers (CSPs) are engaged in various marketing and survey activities to discover the satisfaction level of their customers. In general, some subscribers complain about the poor network coverage, voice call quality, internet service etc., while others are satisfied with quality of services. The aim of this paper is to conduct a survey based study to identify and highlight major attributes that effect customer's satisfaction which will eventually help telecom services providers to improve their customer experience management index. Consequently, this paper examines the factors that have resilient or fragile influence on customer satisfaction. Based on the contemporary research six attributes i.e. network coverage, voice call quality, drop call rate, SMS delivery, internet service and call setup duration have been considered and tested in this research to find the customer satisfaction. For this purpose of study, 200 respondents of a CSP are selected from Islamabad, Pakistan. A telephonic survey is conducted to rate each of the factor and their overall satisfaction. The results reveal that network coverage, voice call quality and internet service have the higher impact on the level of customer satisfaction.

Achieving high QoE for AR applications on a mobile device is challenging because the required advanced computer vision and machine learning algorithms are computationally intensive by nature. Hence, some task for AR applications must be offloaded to more powerful remote servers. Offloading for mobile applications remains an active area of research. In the context of mobile AR applications which requires continuous processing, offloading algorithms must be applied with care due to the high wireless network latencies. In fact, there are only a few mobile AR QoE frameworks to take wireless network conditions into consideration, and none of them studied the relationship between mobile AR QoE and wireless channel status that impacts each other along the time scale. In this project, we propose Q-CARS system, which will provide real test results that facilitate the design of the wireless network that enhances the support of QoE in AR systems.

With the development of the internet, it is vital for the security of the internet to detect web-based anomalies. Clustering based on feature extraction by manually has been verified as a significant way to detect new anomalies. But the presentations of these features can't express semantic information of the URLs. In addition, few studies try to cluster the anomalies into specific types like SQL-injection. In order to solve these two problems, we provide a deep learning enabled subspace spectral ensemble clustering approach for web anomaly detection called DEP-SSEC. This approach has three steps. Firstly, an ensemble clustering model is applied to separate anomalies from normal samples. Then we use word2vec to get the semantical presentations of anomalies. Finally, another multi-clustering approach clusters anomalies into specific types. Our approach is run on a real-life dataset. The result achieves about 0.8321 NMI and 0.8691 Rn, which demonstrates that our model has the ability to cluster anomalies into appropriate types.

With the proliferating number of diverse participants and destinations to reach, the internet construct has become more intricate to assay. Today, internet Service Providers (ISPs) establish resilient networks from multiple providers and broaden the number of peering links - as financially as viable. However, the complex structure of the global internet ecosystem and entwined roles of internet players simply prevent us from conducting generalized models for grasping interconnections which could be applied globally regardless of the local surroundings. In this paper, the global inter-domain internet topology is scrutinized by the help of interconnection characteristics within a country-specific stance. Our study on the internet ecosystems helps us highlight the non-uniformity of interconnections by using both “real world” metrics and network science metrics. One of the significant findings that the analysis yields is that presence of well-established internet Exchange Points (IXPs) in an interconnection ecosystem - besides the benefit of bolstering the peering fabric - increases the competitive nature of internet transit market and boosts the inclination to multihome for stub networks, thus increases the resilience of national internet constructs.

Cloud computing and the future internet concept highlight new requirements for the software engineering phases including testing and validation of modular web services. A major reason is because cloud applications are developed by services belonging to different providers, thus making software testing a really challenging issue. In this work, we propose a testing methodology that includes two fold testing actions; a unit testing of cloud service APIs following white and black box techniques and an integration testing strategy by identifying services that could interface with each other. In addition, we present the Elvior TestCast T3 (TTCN-3) testing tool for automation of use case testing. We demonstrate the results of the methodology when applied to different cloud services and we present a discussion of our conclusions for a real world use case, in which we applied this methodology.

Mobile computation offloading has recently attracted much interest and first offloading solutions have been developed. However, the relevant technical challenge of how to automatically determine offloadable sections of Android applications has not been adequately investigated so far. This paper proposes an innovative task selection algorithm that can parse an Android application autonomously and classify all the methods based on their offloadability by adopting a fine grained and multi-steps analyzer. The reported experimental results show the effectiveness of our solution when applied to the top 25 most downloaded Android apps on the Google Play store, by showing its accuracy in identifying off loadable methods and demonstrating the potential benefits of automated mobile computation offloading.

The development of surveillance camera technology begins to move from a traditional surveillance camera to an IP surveillance camera which can integrate to other device. On the traditional surveillance camera, its media storage usually applied by using a memory card. The use of this kind storage is not efficient because it requires a transfer mechanism of recorded data manually from the memory card to other media storage. The surveillance IP camera has the capability to transfer data based on internet Protocol. However, maintaining complex media storage such as a storage server needs a financing. This financing can be decreased or also eliminated by utilizing the cloud storage service. The captured image by the surveillance camera sometimes can create noises. The noises are affected by a camera sensor because of the lack of the light in a room. The noises in the image can degrade an image quality. Denoising technique can be used to reduce these noises. Even so, the use of this technique can produce a blurred image. In this study, a surveillance embedded IP camera is going to be designed which can perform the image uploading process to the cloud storage and reduces the image noises automatically.

Discriminative classification models have been successfully applied for various computer vision tasks such as object and face detection and recognition. However, deformations can change objects coordinate space and perturb robust similarity measurement, which is the essence of all classification algorithms. The common approach to deal with deformations is either to seek for deformation invariant features or to develop models that describe objects deformations. However, the former approach requires a huge amount of data and a good amount of engineering to be properly trained, while the latter require considerable human effort in the form of carefully annotated data. In this paper, we propose a method that jointly learns with minimal human intervention a generative deformable model using only a simple shape model of the object and images automatically downloaded from the internet, and also extracts features appropriate for classification. The proposed algorithm is applied on various classification problems such as “in-the-wild” face recognition, gender classification and eye glasses detection on data retrieved by querying into a web image search engine. We demonstrate that not only it outperforms other automatic methods by large margins, but also performs comparably with supervised methods trained on thousands of manually annotated data.

This paper explores the correlation between the implied semantic meaning of image-based memes and the textual content of discussions in social media. The behavior of a meme is also distinctive as memes replicate and mutate, similar to genes in human evolution, during propagation in social media networks. This research focuses on the use of sentiment analysis to discover affective meanings of textual comments in social media that are emphasized by the use of memes. Social media provides an interesting challenge in the field of semantic textual analysis due to the prevalence of slang within casual communications. The research supports that the affective nature of a topic in social media can be emphasized by the type of meme applied to the communication. It is the relationship between the unusual multimedia element - the meme - and social media textual communications at motivate the research. In addition to identifying correlations between text and memes, trends in the use of popular memes are also identified. This research successfully demonstrated that memes are used to emphasize the semantic content in social media communications and that the meanings of memes correlate to the topics of the discussion threads.
