In order to solve the problem of the traditional image matching algorithm based on the spectral feature, the spectral matching algorithm based on hyperbolic mahalanobis metric is proposed in this paper. The algorithm first introduces a hyperbolic metric that has better adaptability to the sample data. And the hyperbolic mahalanobis metric is defined according to the statistical properties of the data. For a point in a given point-set, the sub point-set is selected according to the hyperbolic mahalanobis metric and the weighted graph of the sub point-set is constructed. The eigenvalue vector and the spectral gap vector are obtained by the singular value decomposition (SVD) of the adjacency matrix of the weighted graph, which construct the hyperbolic mahalanobis metric spectral feature. Finally, the matching matrix is constructed based on the similarity between the hyperbolic mahalanobis metric spectral feature and geometric relations between feature points. Thereby establish the matching mathematical model and introduce the greedy algorithm to obtain the matching results. A large number of experimental results show that the proposed algorithm improves the matching accuracy and the robustness. And the algorithm extends the application range of the spectral matching algorithm.

The study of brain networks usually analyze the difference of the statistical data and topological structure between pathological with normal brain, or study the difference of complex networks in different physiological state. This paper presents an inner composition alignment algorithm (IOTA) to study the complexity and differences of the brain function network of different ages in beta rhythm, study the topological characteristics in younger and old by computing the characteristics through algorithm: the average path length, clustering coefficient, the average node degree and inner composition alignment algorithm coefficient.

Measuring rainfall rates from videos is a novel research topic. Due to rain motion, reflection of light and background clutter, it is extremely challenging to obtain accurate measurements. In this paper, we propose a new technique for measuring rainfall rates from videos, which consists of the following technical steps: first, we detect raindrops in an image using gray-tone functions and direction of rain streaks;we then select the focused raindrops, based on two features: average color tensor response and average intensity difference. Afterwards, the size of the raindrops is estimated and a raindrop size distribution (RSD) curve is created according to the use of the RSD in meteorology. Finally, a rainfall rate is obtained by fitting the RSD curve with a Gamma distribution model. In the experiment section presented in this paper, the proposed algorithm is evaluated under different light, moderate and heavy rainy conditions. The measurement results of the proposed algorithm are consistent with those of a can-type rain gauge.

Modern oncology and neurosurgery treatments often use stereotactic radiosurgery. Using linear accelerators and appropriate collimators, treatments of predefined high localized radiation doses can be concentrated in small volumes inside the patient. This can be used to treat tumors in otherwise difficult reachable zones of the patient, such as inside the head. In order to avoid unnecessary damage to surrounding healthy tissue, the treatment volume must be positioned as accurate as possible. The Winston-Lutz test is a standard test that is used in quality control procedures to verify the correct alignment of CT scan images with respect to the isocenter of the radiation equipment. The Winston-Lutz test uses a metal Tungsten ball positioned at the isocenter of the linear accelerator to calibrate the system under various positions of the gantry and various angles of the collimator in the gantry head and patient table. In current procedures, the calibration images that are captured during the test are manually interpreted, measured on workstation screens by the medical personnel. This paper presents new automatic methods to accurately determine the center of the metal ball, based on the image center of gravity as well as the automatic detection of the center of a square radiation field around the ball. The calibration results obtained from the automatic image processing based calculations are consistent and precise with a mean difference of 0.17 mm and a standard deviation of 0.15 mm.

Circular object detection is of great significance in wide areas, such as image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, etc.. Most present methods for circle detection are 2D-based algorithms, which means that only ideal 2D circles in the image plane can be detected. Circular objects in 3D physical world are usually ellipses in 2D images rather than standard 2D circles. Consequently, most common methods based on 2D images are unable to distinguish real space circles from ellipses. To solve the problem, in this paper, a 3D circular object detection method based on binocular stereo vision is proposed. It detects and fits ellipses/circles in stereo images firstly, then obtains sub-pixel-level disparity data between two images after stereo matching with the fitted mathematical model. Next, according to the binocular stereo vision model, the disparity data is reversely projected into 3D space. By the preset thresholds for parameters to evaluate the extent deviated from circular and co-planar objects, space circular objects can finally be detected based on those 3D data. Numerous experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can detect circular objects successfully with high precision and efficiency.

In this paper, we propose a MST-based stereo matching method using image edge and brightness information due to the classical MST based methods were used to produce the inaccurate matching weight in the areas of image boundaries and similar color background. Firstly, we applied the bilateral filtering to the original images to restrain the image noise and preserve the image edges. Secondly, we planned the self-adaptive weight function by combining the image edges and brightness information to improve the accuracy of the matching cost computation. Finally, we compute the disparity and refine the result according to the cost aggregation. The standard image sets of Middlebury database are employed to indicate the performances of the proposed and the NLCA method. The experimental results show the percentage of bad matching pixels of the proposed method were reduced 5.93% & 5.32% compared to those of the NLCA method with the Middlebury data. The compared results demonstrate that the proposed method has the higher matching accuracy and better robustness.

The fatigue level of military pilot directly affects the flight safety. The fatigue level of system operator directly affects the operational electiveness. Developing high-performance personnel fatigue real-time monitoring and alerting technology on board is significant. Based on eye states detection, we judge the fatigue state of military pilot. Though the location speed of maximum variance between two classes is faster and the location speed of gray-level integration projection is faster, it is difficult to directly find the feature points. To solve this problem, we introduce the way of eye location and detection. It is based on Gabor transforms projected subspace and multi-state template. The horizontal direction gray scale of the eye changes frequently, sharply. Compared with the eyebrow and nose, the change of eye gray scale is more frequently. After eye location, we take PERCLOS as the method to judge the state of the military pilot and we statistic the percentage of the number of eyes closed picture, f. If f is larger than 0.4, we think the military pilot is fatigue. If f is larger than 0.1 but less than 0.4, we think the military pilot is out of mind. If f is less than 0.1, we think the military pilot is full of energy.

We present a robust facial recognition method in this paper, which utilizing improved multi-histogram based features from spatial domain, as well as frequency domain, respectively. In spatial domain, we utilize Local Binary Pattern (LBP) histogram due to its excellent robustness and high discriminative capability. In frequency domain, we utilize two types of histogram named binary vector quantization (BVQ) histogram and energy histogram extracted from low-frequency (LF) DCT domain. The former histogram feature is made by applying BVQ on DCT coefficients per frequency band. The latter is energy histogram which can be considered to add amplitude information of DCT coefficients. In addition, in order to add spatial information of a facial image so as to increase the accuracy, the region-division (RD) algorithm is applied. Publicly available databases are utilized to evaluate our proposed method, and experiments demonstrate that the proposed method utilizing multi-histogram features can realize superior recognition performance.

Retinal image registration is the process of matching or superimposing two or more fundus images obtained from different spaces, times or devices, which plays an important role in treatment and diagnosis of fundus diseases. This paper presents an algorithm for retinal image registration based on point correspondence. First the vascular tree is extracted by using gradient divergence. Then eight neighborhood search algorithm and Harris corner detection are combined to extract feature points. Next an improved local feature descriptor, which combines Euclidean distance with corresponding geometric information, is computed to get matching pairs. After that, random sampling consistency algorithm is used to purify point pairs. Finally, transformation matrix, which is computed according to matching point pairs, is used to register input images. Experimental results on public fundus image database FIRE show that our approach is comparable or superior to SIFT-based methods in terms of efficiency and speed.

Based on the fifth generation mobile communication (5G), and 5G open grid computing environment (5G OGCE), an architecture of heterogeneous large-scale parallel supervisory control and data acquisition/distributed control systems (SCADA/DCS) system of systems (SoS) is presented. Its purpose is to supervise and control and acquire data of process function value of operating electricity, water, air and gas, in natural disasters and accidents caused by incorrectly using them. This architecture, compared with NASA's architecture decomposition of space exploration systems, and with Smart Grid Architecture Model (SGAM), is more suitable for mining and ocean engineering, especially sea-wave power plants, and operating and controlling of processing water, electricity, gas, and air systems in parallel. The architecture can act as a framework for factory automation in 5G OGCE. By using heterogeneous concurrent agents (HCA) in concurrent enterprise (CE), this architecture can realize cyber manufacturing system supported by cloud computing.
