Since the minimum variance beamformer occurred, adaptive beamformers in ultrasound imaging have been widely studied. Eigenspace-based minimum variance beamformer is an outstanding method which utilizes eigenvalue decomposition to construct signal and noise subspaces, enhancing the contrast of minimum variance beamformer. However, due to the constant threshold by which signal and noise subspaces are separated, the image will be distorted even if its contrast is improved. In this paper, a relationship between the eigenvalue threshold and the coherence factor (CF) is established to adjust the threshold adaptively so that the contrast is retained and the distortion is alleviated. Simulated and experimental data are used to reconstruct the image. Results of the proposed method are compared with results of the eigenspace-based minimum variance beamformer, which proves the validity of the proposed method.

Manual segmentation of tumors in a medical image is difficult and time-consuming, while automatic segmentation which does not need interactions has many challenges due to poor contrast between different regions. We therefore present a semi-automatic kidney tumor detection and segmentation method. Our method firstly segments the kidney from the whole image using single atlas based segmentation. Then we apply a supervoxel segmentation to generate an over segmentation, and estimate the abnormal probability of each voxel respectively, using the segmentation result above. We visualize the probability by using the volume rendering technique, highlighting the abnormal regions, which is easy to observe and select for users. This method is more reliable and flexible comparing to automatic methods.

With the continuous development of the electronic technology, there are many advanced technique that can be a threat to the traditional radar system in the modern war. The viability of radar systems is more and more depending on their anti-jamming capabilities. In other words, the radar is useless if it is not an anti-jamming radar. The viability of the radar system has been dramatically increased due to the use of the phase array radar. In phase array radar system, there are always thousands of antenna units. Each antenna unit has its own signalprocessing system. All the antenna units are put together in a plane according to some given order. In order to reduce the cost, we have to decrease the number of receive paths. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an approach to reduce the paths in phase array radar. The simulation results show that our proposed approach works well.

An objective blur measure is crucial for a variety of imageprocessing applications. Traditional researches concentrate on a model estimating the amount of spatial high frequency. However, human vision detects blurriness might be influenced by the texture of image contents. To address the important issue, this paper presents a new objective metric designed as both measuring the inherent smooth texture and predicting the difference induced by blur distortion. The approach is based on the wavelet characterization of Besov function spaces and just noticeable difference of human vision. Then, the just noticeable blur is estimated from the derived psychometric function using the proposed metric and subjective scores. Experimental comparisons with state-of-the-arts quality metrics for public databases show that the proposed metric achieved high correlation with the general objective quality or subjective metrics.

The computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) system can greatly influence the early detection of lung cancer in radiographs and computed tomography (CT) images. And the automatic nodule detection plays an important role in the CAD systems. This paper proposed a new enhancement filter (3D multi-scale Block LBP Filter) to detect the nodules in the lung regions. By taking advantages of the nodule regions' pixel value characteristics and shape features, the proposed filter is able to enhance the nodule-like regions and restrain the line-like regions and edge regions. Moreover, Integral image Technique (IIT) is applied accelerate the processing speed of the filter. Experimental results showed that the proposed filter can improve the accuracy and reduce the false positive.

This paper investigates image encryption by using magic squares. We propose a new magic square encryption method to which we refer as Good Lattice Point (GLP) method. Traditional magic square encryption method ([4]) focuses on disordering positions of image pixel points according to magic squares. GLP method works in the same way but gives different encryption periods and better encrypted effect than the traditional one. In addition, we also propose other new encryption methods which focus on changing values of image pixel points according to operations of magic squares such as addition and production operations. Furthermore, we develop a criteria which measures the effect of image encryption and consequently provides a way to compare different magic square encryption methods.

Due to the poor spectrum utilization in time and space, the spectrum in cognitive radio is not only sparse but clusters in blocks in many situations. Based on the fact, a novel Bayesian compressed sensing algorithm for wideband spectrum sensing is proposed. In our proposed framework, firstly, the original signal should be sampled with sub-Nyquist sampling rate. Secondly, the clustering of the spectrum molded by many block structures is also utilized to increase the accuracy of spectrum sensing. Lastly, with a variational Bayesian inference, the experimental results show the validity and advantage of our proposed approach.

This approach is useful for tracking object's pose during object uniform rotation. Firstly, removing outliers using a StatiscalOutlierRemoval filter. Then, Euclidean cluster extraction is made for detecting the object. Thirdly, ICP algorithm is in process between two adjacent images, computing the transformation matrix. We propose a region base simple method to filter out strokes, which is brighter or darker than the background. And this method had good performance at blur, low contrast, and shadow. The method is implement by Difference of Gaussian (DOG), which is applied in edge detection, invariant feature. We use the properties of DOG, isotropic edge detect and sign value than background, to develop a stroke over scale. Then we use a dynamic threshold method and a static threshold value to filter out the noise region. After morphology process, we can filter out text as regions. In result part we test our method by DIBCO, ICDAR, and license plate in real scene to prove our method have more robust in harsh environment.

for improving the present situation in the quality detection of plate making product line, a simplified homocentric square filter (SHSF) is proposed and implemented based on machine vision. Firstly, a hardware platform including camera, lens, light source, and encoder is designed to acquire high quality images. In order to automatically detect defects from the acquired images, the SHSF is designed according to the characteristics of the defects and their background. Furthermore, multiscale analysis is applied to detect defects of different sizes. Combining SHSF with multiscale analysis, nine kinds of defects are detected successfully. Finally, integral image technique (IIT) is applied to the filter for real-time processing. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a good performance in accuracy and processing speed of defect detection.
