Text analysis is the front-end of a TTS system, which has a great influence on the naturalness of the back-end speech synthesis. Statistical parametric speech synthesis is being commonly applied into speech synthesis now, and gradually becoming an important method of the current speech synthesis, however, the research of front-end text analysis is often overlooked in the process of current Tibetan speech synthesis, so the research of Tibetan text analysis is still staying in an initial stage. The research of this paper is faced on the Tibetan statistical parametric speech synthesis system, the mainly work of us is to have a text analysis for the input Tibetan text, and the aim is to acquire the mono-phone labeling information and context-dependent labeling information, which is needed by the back-end speech synthesis. Finally, we have a speech synthesis to the Tibetan text with the statistical parametric information that we have obtained through the process of text analysis, then the quality of synthetic speech is evaluated by MOS evaluation, we choose randomly 50 sentences to apply to the process of MOS evaluation, through the experiment, the score of MOS evaluation can reach 4.0 points, so it indicated that the naturalness and intelligibility of synthetic speech is good, and the method of this paper is effective.

Learning-based methods have been the mainstream in single image super-resolution (SISR) over the past decade or so. This paper, however, returns to the reconstruction perspective to SISR, and studies the possibility of achieving competitive or even better SISR performance compared with state-of-the-art learning-based approaches in the literature. Specifically, through the (fast) iterative shrinkage-thresholding algorithm, a general, simple, yet accurate SISR framework is proposed by embedding off-the-shelf image denoising algorithms into the reconstruction process rather than struggling to develop advanced image priors. Numerous experiments on the benchmark dataset are performed accompanied by comparisons against a few recent learning-based methods, e.g., A+, SRCNN, etc. The results have demonstrated well the rationality and superiority of the proposed framework in terms of the super-resolution accuracy as image filtering schemes such as BM3D, WNNM, and other possible candidates, are used. Note that, learning-based filtering schemes can be also plugged into our framework, which hence leads to hybrid reconstruction/learning-based SISR approaches, demonstrating the flexibility as well as the potential of the proposed framework.

Dynamic electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring is significantly superior to conventional static ECG inspection in application scope and clinical study. With the increasing number of guardianship and healthcare category, health surveillance platform will produce a large number of monitoring data. The traditional monitoring technology has been unable to effectively resolve the management and analysis of those generated large data. To solve these problems, this paper proposed a cloud-based dynamic ECG monitoring and analysis system. First of all, the use of acquisition sensors for acquisition, direct access to dynamic ECG signal and acceleration data; Secondly, these sensors send the gathered data to the terminal by Bluetooth for display and further process; then, the terminal will send the generated data to Cloud Storage platform for storage. The Cloud platform utilize generic hierarchical Service Modeling Framework and Cloud Storage which is consist of relational database storage (MySQL) and distributed file system storage (HDFS). Finally, utilizing MapReduce computing framework for data mining, medical statistics and similarity correlation analysis of diseases can help expert to make a health improvement plan and guide users to manage their own health. The proposed system can also allow users to better understand their own physical condition and achieve the purpose of disease monitoring and early warning.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of carpal tunnel syndrome on hand intrinsic muscle activities using surface electromyogram (sEMG) during precision grip. Six CTS patients and six age- and gender-matched healthy volunteers participated in the experiment. The subjects were instructed to stably grip an instrumented apparatus with their thumb and index finger for 80 s. The sEMG signals were recorded from the abductor pollicis brevis (APB) and first dorsal interosseous (FDI). Visual feedback was provided for the first 20-40 s and removed for the remaining 50-70 s during the precision grip. Results showed that the root mean squares (RMS) of sEMG in CTS significantly increased after removing visual feedback. In contrast of the controls, the CTS led to an increase in the RMS without visual feedback. And the median frequency (MF) was lower than the healthy in APB but higher in the left hand FDI on both feedback conditions. However, CTS did not affect the coherence of the two intrinsic muscles- the APB and FDI. There was a weak coherence in both the CTS and control groups. This study revealed that the sensorimotor deficits associated with CTS could alter the intrinsic muscle activities for precision grip.

Supervoxel plays a significant role in video segmentation task in which moving objects in the video are detected and their external boundaries are obtained. This is due to the observation that hierarchies of supervoxel can process the video into a multiscale decomposition with more information for later analysis than other approaches using the concept of supervoxels to video segmentation. Most available supervoxel video segmentation methods require the whole voxels in the video to be loaded into memory first before processing can occur which is impossible even for medium sized videos containing 100 frames, of reasonable complex background and foreground of moving objects. The results of deploying these more traditional approaches show that they tend to under-segment at lower levels and over-segment at high levels, so it is a challenge to use the results to analyze the video, e.g., in detection of objects. In this paper, we present an algorithm to overcome these limitations. Our method, called StreamUES, is based on the Uniform Entropy Slice (UES). It not only can seek a selection of supervoxels by using the post hoc feature criterion such as optical flow, but also can work on streaming modem use a clip of frames at one time until the end of the video clip is reached. Our results indicate the StreamUES can work very well with a challenging dataset viz., VSB 100, which we used to evaluate the proposed StreamUES technique.

Glioma is one of the most common brain tumors with high mortality and its histological grading and typing is important both in therapeutic decision and prognosis evaluation. This paper aims at using the high-throughput image feature analysis method to estimate the histological grade and type of a patient by using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) instead of histological examination. The proposed method consists of the initial label definition, the region-of-interest delineation, the self-adaptive feature extraction, the feature subset selection, and the multi-class voting classification. Hereinto, a novel feature extraction strategy is designed, which could avoid the MRI scan diversity so as to get the robust feature extraction result and make the proposed framework more stable and effective. This method was validated on a database of 124 patients with the grade II to IV of 78, 25, and 21, and with astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, oligoastrocytoma of 86, 16, and 22, respectively. We show that by using the leave-one-out cross-validation, the multi-class classification accuracy and macro average could reach 88.71%, 0.8362 respectively for the grade classification, and 70.97%, 0.5692 respectively for the type classification. It can be concluded that the histological grade and subtype information could be estimated from the MRI image analysis.

X-ray phase contrast imaging (XPCI) shows more detail and capable to produce high contrast images compared to conventional absorb contrast imaging. Not as free-space-propagation-based XPCI which needs a highly coherent and monochromatic light source such as synchrotron radiation source, several different XPCI methods are practical using desktop X-ray tube, such as micro-focus PCI, grating-based differential PCI and coded aperture-based edge illumination PCI, etc. In this paper, an experimental research on micro-focus XPCI is done with a conventional X-ray source. With a micro collimating aperture, a large focal spot X-ray tube is modified to be a micro focus light source. A fly and feather are used as imaging samples. Sample images are acquired with different energy X-ray such as 20KeV, 40KeV and 60KeV etc. Phase contrast images are compared with absorption contrast images using the same x-ray source setting. Results showed the sharpness caused by phase contrast, and more detail information of the edges inside the imaging samples. The resolution of micro-focus XPCI image reaches to about 10 micrometers which is not easy to achieve in traditional absorption method.

The sesamoid bones of feet are quite small but they play very important roles in regulating pressure. In this study, 9 male wrestlers from Guangdong Greco-Roman wrestling team served as the subjects. CT scanning image of feet and data have been used to reconstruct the three-dimensional structures of feet, based on which the investigation and measurements of the sesamoid bones and supernumerary bones have been completed. The result shows that every foot of the subjects has 2 or 3 sesamoid bones (only one case with 2 sesamoid bones and all the rest with 3 sesamoid bones). The occurrence rate of the first metatarsal sesamoids is 100% and that of the interphalangeal joint sesamoids is 94.4%, which is much higher than the results reported by previous studies. The occurrence rate of accessory navicular bone is 16.7% and that of the triquetral sesamoid bones is 22.2%. The occurrence rate of sesamoid bones and supernumerary bones in the second calcaneumi also are higher than the results in previous reports. It is concluded in our study that the occurrence rate of sesamoid bones and supernumerary bones and their morphological features are closely related to the acquired influence of exercise.

The measurement of brain electrical activity recorded as EEG signals finds most application in epilepsy. EEG waveforms carry information about the underlying neural system dynamics and show different features amongst epilepsy syndromes. In this research, empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and power spectrum were employed to extract the features from EEG dataset of healthy participants, and epilepsy patients with seizure and seizure free conditions. The recorded EEG signals are represented by 500 signal segments from 5 sets of different conditions. The sum of Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF) power spectrum components gave 10 features for 50 components, and 20 features for 25 components, which were used as the classification inputs for artificial neural networks and random forest classifiers. The classifications were carried out for 3, 4, and 5 classes. From the experiments, the highest average accuracy was obtained for 3 classes using 20 features of power spectrum from the sum of 6 IMFs. For use of 6 IMFs, the accuracies had the maximum values of 92.4%, 90.4%, and 78.6% for 3, 4, and 5 classes respectively. It also improved the accuracy significantly for 5 classes.

This paper proposed a novel method for dental implant guide, based on computer aided design technique with CT data and dental 3D data. We analyze the patient's 3D dental data, and then plan the implant area and support area interactively. With the help of 2D image, we can accurately calculate the anatomical implants direction and a safe distance. With biomechanical principles as well as aesthetical and functional requirements as precondition, this method can make full use of the remaining teeth to ensure the support's stability. First of all, this method needs import and preprocess the model which needs repairing. Secondly, the implant direction was automatically computed. After that, the implant and support area was designed semi-automatically. Then, we design the dental platform and implant parametrically with the help of CT image registration. Finally, the dental implant guide is generated after Boolean operations. In the end of this paper, a case research explained the whole process of surgical guide. The results validated the correctness and feasibility of this method which has a great significance to enhance the quality and accuracy of implant surgery.
