The measurement of brain electrical activity recorded as EEG signals finds most application in epilepsy. EEG waveforms carry information about the underlying neural system dynamics and show different features amongst epilepsy syndromes. In this research, empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and power spectrum were employed to extract the features from EEG dataset of healthy participants, and epilepsy patients with seizure and seizure free conditions. The recorded EEG signals are represented by 500 signal segments from 5 sets of different conditions. The sum of Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF) power spectrum components gave 10 features for 50 components, and 20 features for 25 components, which were used as the classification inputs for artificial neural networks and random forest classifiers. The classifications were carried out for 3, 4, and 5 classes. From the experiments, the highest average accuracy was obtained for 3 classes using 20 features of power spectrum from the sum of 6 IMFs. For use of 6 IMFs, the accuracies had the maximum values of 92.4%, 90.4%, and 78.6% for 3, 4, and 5 classes respectively. It also improved the accuracy significantly for 5 classes.

This paper proposed a novel method for dental implant guide, based on computer aided design technique with CT data and dental 3D data. We analyze the patient's 3D dental data, and then plan the implant area and support area interactively. With the help of 2D image, we can accurately calculate the anatomical implants direction and a safe distance. With biomechanical principles as well as aesthetical and functional requirements as precondition, this method can make full use of the remaining teeth to ensure the support's stability. First of all, this method needs import and preprocess the model which needs repairing. Secondly, the implant direction was automatically computed. After that, the implant and support area was designed semi-automatically. Then, we design the dental platform and implant parametrically with the help of CT image registration. Finally, the dental implant guide is generated after Boolean operations. In the end of this paper, a case research explained the whole process of surgical guide. The results validated the correctness and feasibility of this method which has a great significance to enhance the quality and accuracy of implant surgery.

Undeniability is an essential security property of the traditional digital signature. Strong designated verifier signature(DSVS) is a special digital signature in where the validity of a signature can only be checked by the designated verifier. However, most strong DSVS schemes do not have the undeniability property which leads to dispute between a designated verifier and a signer. In this study, we propose a new strong DSVS scheme. The proposed strong designated verifier scheme involves three participators: a designated verifier, a signer and a judger. When a dispute happens, the judger can tell the real signer by simple computation. So, our scheme proposed in this study holds the undeniability property. What's more, the security and efficiency analysis of this paper's scheme are been presented. By comparing the proposed scheme and other similar strong DSVS schemes, it shows that our proposed strong designated verifier scheme has good performance on the undenability and the cost. We also showed the detail comparison. Therefore, the proposed scheme can be applied in many environments such as electronic-voting and business, e-healthcare and etc.

Accuracy analysis finds out characteristics of robot assisted surgery system. These characteristics are useful for surgeons to improve the operation precision. A hybrid robot assisted surgery system was used as experiment platform. By means of adding homogeneous matrix deviation and fiducial marker localization error vector, we analyze important guidance procedure errors, including tool calibration error, tool tracking error and robot error. The error functions are presented and the error ranges are deduced based on these error functions. We found the tool calibration error and the tool tracking error is less than double and triple camera error respectively. When the tool tracking is used to optimize the system accuracy, the robot localization error can be restricted within triple camera error. The system error and the accuracy improvement are also discussed. Experiments results show: The target localization error (TLE) is composed by digitizer error, surgeon manipulation error and target registration error (TRE); it is affected by surgical parameter (e.g. puncture length) at the same time. In physical space, the tool tracking error will not exceed triple digitizer error. Among these error sources, TRE is the greatest error source, surgeon manipulation error is the second, and digitizer error's contribution is small and relatively steady.

Point cloud data sets, or simply point clouds (PCs), originating from a common specimen but containing different measurement parameters (i.e. using different sensors, times, depths, viewpoints, etc.) usually contain both overlapping and non-overlapping points. Registration aligns these distinct PCs into one coordinate system by assigning point-by-point correspondence between PCs and applying a transformation. Registration shows great potential in practical applications, but the effectiveness of current methods is limited in PCs having large differences in relative initial positions, low overlapping ratios, and excessive noise. We introduce a point matching algorithm called Signature that relaxes these constraints. We approach the problem of identifying corresponding points between PCs by assigning and matching point identification (ID), or the distance of a point to a select number of closest points in the same PC. Signature has been tested on PCs generated computationally and by fluorescence imaging of biological samples. Signature accurately identifies point correspondence in PCs with any initial angles, with overlapping ratios as low as 15%. Preprocessing with Signature intelligently relaxes constraints on initial positions and overlapping ratios and shows some improvement in aligning noisy PCs for both point-wise and topological registration methods. Furthermore, combining Signature with Anchor Point Alignment allows for robust alignment of noise-free PCs under any initial position.

The nerve conduction blocking by high frequency biphasic (HFB) electrical stimulations has many potentially valuable clinical applications, but its safety margins require further evaluations. This simulation study aimed to construct an axonal model to investigate the effects of HFB electrical currents on the axonal conductibility and ionic concentrations. The axonal model was constructed in the software of NEURON by incorporating the McIntyre-Richardson-Grill model's geometries, Frankenhaeuser-Huxley and passive equations, ionic diffusion mechanism, and sodium pump activities. The applied 5 s HFB electrical stimulation apparently altered the axon's conductibility, which manifested lowered AP amplitudes, elevated resting membrane potentials, and delayed AP initiation times. These changes did not gain complete recoveries within the observed 55 s period, and showed to be mainly attributed to the induced alterations in ionic concentrations of nodal [Na + ] i , nodal [K + ] i and para-nodal [Na + ] o . The results implied that the inter-nodal segments played a buffering role against changes of intracellular nodal ionic concentrations, and the intra-cellular ionic concentrations recovered at the price of increases in para-nodal [Na + ] o . This study provided more information useful for evaluating the safety margins of nerve conduction blocking by HFB electrical stimulations, and are valuable for designing more safe and applicable protocols.

Data dimension reduction and classification are the key steps in protein sub-cellular localization. With the rapid development of biological science and technology, a plenty of high dimensional biological data have generated, accompanied by certain noise. How to express high dimensional data in low dimension space and achieve better classification effect have become one of the significant tasks for researchers in the application of protein sub-cellular localization. Both the traditional dimension reduction algorithm of linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and the popular classifier of k-nearest neighbor (KNN) cannot meet the needs of the current application well if they are simply used without improvements. The aim of LDA is to seek out a projecting line at certain direction letting the projection of samples as far away as possible. However, noise jamming expands the within-class distance and makes the classes uneasily separated even by LDA. Besides, KNN has not taken samples' inequality into consideration primely. Therefore, this paper first uses the noise intensity as a kind of weight in LDA, then improves KNN algorithm by considering the inequality of samples from different classes with a within-class KNN method. Experimental results show that the proposed method by combining the above two improvements gets ideal feasibility and effectiveness in classification through the verification of Jackknife.

The precise integration method is a semi analytical solution method of partial differential equation method. Based on the precise integration method, the lossy transmission line transient response analysis method is a time domain analysis method. The lossy transmission line transient response analysis method can easily deal with the transmission line problems, which is difficult for the nonzero initial value and nonlinear load frequency domain method to deal with, but it is still difficult to deal with the reactance load of transmission line. By separating and integrating the beginning and terminal conditions of the precise integration method, and introducing time domain adjoint model of the various kinds of load, this paper solves the problems of the load reactance of transmission line, also solves the transmission line problems of long time transition, short circuit and open circuit, which greatly improves the precise integration method for the analysis of the efficacy of transmission lines in time domain response. Finally, the correctness of the presented method is illustrated by the application examples, which provide a theoretical basis for the time domain analysis of the transient response of the transmission line.

Pre-stack seismic inversion has inherently supremacy and is a complicated problem. It is a simultaneous inversion for multi-parameters and is ill-posed and band-limited. Thus the results are of non-unique and its process is unstable. Combining the full Zoeppritz equation with both section constant V S /V P and the edge-preserving regularization can relieve these problems. Here we provided an inverted strategy constructing a new objective function based on the edge-preserving regularization and Markov random field (MRF). The method needs to gain reflectivity by the full Zoeppritz equation, and applies fast simulated annealing (FSA) to nonlinear optimization problem. Combining high- with low- orders MRF can improve the inverted results, namely utilize high-order MRF at the early stage and low-order MRF at late iterations. Moreover, to the transverse isotropy layered model, a large coefficient in horizontal direction is helpful to improve lateral continuity, and a small coefficient in vertical direction can preserve large longitudinal gradient. We test the method on field data example. The inverted results of multiple-order MRF are better than that of single-order MRF, and they match well with logging data.

Develop an mural coronary artery simulative device in vitro and analyze the relationship between characteristics of mural coronary artery hemodynamics parameters and atherosclerosis. The simulative device was used to simulate experiments in vitro. In the condition of keeping any related parameters unchanged, such as system temperature, the average flow rate and heart rate, we calculated and observed the changes of proximal and distal mean shear stress value and oscillatory shear stress value of mural coronary artery by regulating the compression level of myocardial bridge to mural coronary artery. The results shows that under 0% compression, there was no significant difference in distal and proximal mean shear stress value and oscillatory shear stress value of mural coronary artery. With the increase of the compression degree, mean shear stress in the distal end was larger than that in the proximal end, but the oscillatory value of shear stress in the proximal end was larger than that in the distal end. The experimental results in this study indicate that myocardial bridge compression leads to abnormal hemodynamic at the proximal end of the mural coronary artery. This abnormal phenomenon is of great significance for the study of atherosclerosis hemodynamic pathogenesis, which has potential clinical value for pathological effects and treatments of the myocardial bridge.
