The world is facing a wide range of serious problems that require urgent attention. Inherent to understanding and solving these problems are research and development activities. Research and development skills are primarily taught at institutions of higher education and have translated into numerous benefits for students, such as enhanced cognitive skills and a broader awareness of the discipline. This paper presented a model for running undergraduate research courses at the computer science Department, University of Guyana (UG). Key components of the model include preparatory assessments, two-semester (Arming of research courses (formal proposal and thesis), human resources, mechanisms for guidance and support, assessments and grading rubrics. The model was first implemented in 2017/2018, and was monitored and evaluated over a two-year period using a sample of 23 undergraduate students who were pursuing computer related BSc degree programs. Students provided feedback via a survey that was primarily focused on the research process, supervision, course structure, weekly research sessions, and general strengths and weaknesses of the undergraduate research model. The participants reported positive feedback such as having a good grasp of the research process, high levels of confidence in conducting independent research and preparedness for postgraduate studies. As such, this undergraduate research model may have wider applicability for the UG community and other institutions of higher learning.

The purpose of this study is to obtain an overview of the profile of the affective abilities of vocational students concerning the discourse of electrical energy conservation. The research method used is qualitative research which aims to explain the phenomenon of problems experienced by students in understanding the concept of electricity. Research activities are carried out in the odd semester of the school year 2017/2018. The research subjects were students of class X in one of the private vocational schools in the city of Bandung which consisted of one class randomly selected. The results showed that the profile of affective ability which is a result of the representation of the value / energy-saving attitude of students in SMK S Bandung was still low. This can be seen from the average value of affective goals which include a willingness to respond, satisfaction in response, acceptance of a value, preference for a value, commitment, and conceptualisation of a value of 43.83 which is still in the low category. This shows that physics learning, especially on the concept of electricity at the SMK level has not been oriented towards affective goals.

Problem solving ability becomes one of the required in 21st Century skills. This research is aimed to describe the students' problem solving in one of Junior High Schools in Bandung. This research uses descriptive method. The data was collected using test questions which were developed based on problem solving ability meter according to PISA 2012. The research is conducted towards 40 of 7th grade students of Junior High School in the second semester of 2017/2018 academic year. The data was analyzed quantitatively and presented in percentage chart. Overall, there were only 27.5% of the students who are able to answer the problem solving question test. 50.25% of the students were able exploring and understanding problem, and 20% students are able to representing and formulating problem;and planning and executing solution. Thus, it can be concluded that the students' problem solving ability in science is still low (30.83%). The identified dominant factor that causes the students' low of problem solving ability is the learning process which has not facilitated the students yet to develop the problem solving ability. This research recommends to test a learning method which can help the learning process which is able to train the problem solving ability.

This study aims to investigate whether or not there the difference between students' mathematics concept comprehension ability by using Think Pair Share (TPS) approach and by using direct learning reviewed based on their preliminary ability (high, medium, and low level). This research was a quasi experiment by using post-test only control group design that aimed to investigating the cause and effect by treating one of classes, and comparing the result of the class that was treated differently. Methods of data collection in this study through observation, documentation and test, involving 42 students of senior high school in Pekanbaru in the even semester of 2017. T test was used to analyse the data. The results showed that there are difference between students' mathematics concept comprehension ability by using TPS approach and by using direct learning reviewed on their preliminary ability to learning outcomes. Classes with TPS approach give better learning outcomes than the ones in direct learning classes. Thus, in general the implementation of TPS approach influenced students' mathematics concept comprehension ability reviewed based on their preliminary ability at Senior High School in Pekanbaru.

In-silico study of kaempferol has been performed to determine its potential as a natural estrogen competitor in an effort to suppress the growth of endometrial cancer. This study used a method of molecular decelerating of kaempferol against estrogen receptor alpha, which is compared with natural estrogen in the body. The research process was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Department of science and Technology Faculty of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, from December 2017 until February 2018. The software used in this study is PyRx-Virtual Screening Tools (for molecular docking process) and Discovery Studio (for pose visualization and data analysis). The results showed that kaempferol is a potential natural estrogen competitor. It is indicated by the lower binding affinity value of kaempferol (-7.0 kcal/mol) than the binding affinity of natural estrogen (-6.7 kcal/mol). The low-affinity binding value shows a stable interaction. This means that Kaempferol is a potential phytoestrogen for cancer therapy without side effects.

Indonesia had potential zakat as much as 217 Trillion Rupiah in 2017, but can only be collected 6 trillion or 0.2%, one of the factors is Muzakki's (Zakat Giver) lack of trust in zakat management institutions so that they prefer to distribute their zakat without going through zakat management institutions directly. To encourage improving management of zakat management institutions requires planning, designing, and building systems that can assist in managing zakat. This study aims to design an architectural enterprise for zakat management institutions in achieving the collection, management, utilization, and distribution of zakat and alms. The methodology used in this study uses the TOGAF ADM approach by collecting data through observation and interviews with one of the private zakat management institutions. The results of this study are in the form of a system architecture design that can be used as a reference for zakat management institutions with a prototype of the zakat reporting system.
