Text is the backbone of the web and most of the information and human knowledge is represented in natural language. Every day, a vast amount of textual information is posted in web portals, wikis and news sites and necessitates automated approaches to analyze and understand their content. In this paper, we present a case-based reasoning approach to transform natural language sentences into first order logic formulas. The formalization approach relies on the principle that natural language sentences with similar grammatical structures and dependency trees would have similar representation in first order logic. The approach consists of two main stages. First, a deep analysis of the natural language sentence is performed, where proper characteristics are extracted and dependencies are specified. After that, in the second stage a cased based reasoning approach is used to utilize existing knowledge (formalized sentences) and drive the formalization of a new sentence. The similarity between natural language sentences is conducted on their dependency trees and is calculated based on the tree edit distance. Then, if needed, the adaptation of a solution is made based on rules. Example studies have shown the applicability of the method and the results on a small number of sentences are very promising. © 2016 IEEE.

Porting applications to CPU-GPU architecture remains a challenge to average programmers,which have to explicitly manage data transfers between the host and device *** this paper,we proposed an approach to optimize the data transfer operations between CPU and GPU by analysing the data dependency and reorganizing source *** found that not only the data transmission through PCIe bus is time consuming,but also the preparation and cleaning work for data transfer *** cost will be dramatically increased if the program contains many kernel ***,we firstly defined and analyzed the data copy in(out) path for each data transfer operation utilizing compiler *** data copy in or copy out operation can be migrated along with its data copy *** data transfer operations could be merged into one operation if they are of the same transfer direction and their data copy paths have *** and merging multiple data transfer operations could obviously reduce the number of data exchange times and the system resource consumption.

The ever-growing proliferation of wireless devices and technologies used for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, such as patient monitoring, military surveillance, and industrial automation and control, has created an increasing need for methods and tools for connectivity prediction, information flow monitoring, and failure analysis to increase the dependability of the wireless network. Indeed, in a safety-critical Industrial IoT (IIoT) setting, such as a smart factory, harsh signal propagation conditions combined with interference from coexisting radio technologies operating in the same frequency band may lead to poor network performance or even application failures despite precautionary measures. Analyzing and troubleshooting such failures on a large scale is often difficult and time-consuming. In this paper, we share our experience in troubleshooting coexistence problems in operational IIoT networks by reporting on examples that show the possible hurdles in carrying out failure analysis. Our experience motivates the need for a userfriendly, automated failure analysis system, and we outline an architecture of such system that allows to observe multiple communication standards and unknown sources of interference. © 2016 IEEE.

Chattering is a fundamental phenomenon that is unique to hybrid systems, due to the complex interaction between discrete dynamics (in the form of discrete transitions) and continuous dynamics (in the form of time). In practice, simulating chattering hybrid systems is challenging in that simulation eectively halts near the chattering time point, as an innite number of discrete transitions would need to be simulated. In this paper, formal conditions are provided for when the simulated models of hybrid systems display chattering behavior, and methods are proposed for avoiding chattering "on the y" in runtime. We utilize dynamical behavior analysis to derive conditions for detecting chattering without enumeration of modes. We also present a new iterative algorithm to allow for solutions to be carried past the chattering point, and we show by a prototypical implementation how to generate the equivalent chattering-free dynamics internally by the simulator in the main simulation loop. The concepts are illustrated with examples throughout the paper. © 2016 IEEE.

Ontology can specify the concepts and their *** ontology was used as the bridge to map between the source and target artifacts,it can help to solve the keyword matching problem regarding the requirement traceability in the semantic level.A domain ontology recommendation method has been *** this method,the lexical semantic representation list of the dependency syntax types can be produced at first using Stanford ***,the terms as well as their relations can be extracted using the clear algorithm and rule-based matching *** follows,these terms and their relations can be transformed into domain concepts and their relations,obtaining the domain ontology ***,the domain ontology that is suitable for the requirement traceability can be gained through the processes of selection and revision by the domain *** experimental results demonstrate that if the proposed domain ontology was applied to requirement traceability,it can effectively improve the accuracy of the requirement traceability,compared with the vector space model and the requirement traceability method based on HOWNET.

For the image-set based classification,a considerable advance has been made by representing original image sets on Grassmann *** order to extend the advantages of the Euclidean based dimensionality reduction methods to the Grassmann Manifold,several methods have been suggested recently to jointly perform dimensionality reduction and metric learning on Grassmann manifold and they have achieved good results in some computer vision ***,when handling the classification tasks on the complicated datasets,the learned features do not exhibit enough discriminatory ability and the data distribution of the resulted Grassmann manifold also be ignored which may lead to *** overcome the two problems,we propose a new method named Structure Maintaining Discriminant Maps(SMDM) for manifold dimensionality reduction *** to SMDM,we mainly design a new discriminant function for metric *** make experiments on two tasks:face recognition and object categorization to evaluate the proposed method,the achieved better results compared with the state-of-the-art methods,showing the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Research on the development of optimization modeling systems is relatively mature,but for multidisciplinary design optimization(MDO) application there are still some issues of accessibility and high *** on the existing MDO algorithms,this paper presents a unified framework for formulating and solving the multidisciplinary optimization problem with various MDO methods in an efficient,simple and friendly manner.A multidisciplinary descriptive language is also proposed at the same time for the unified *** framework is designed to make researchers focus on the multidisciplinary optimization problem,rather than on algorithms implementation and software *** the unified framework,researchers can solve the multidisciplinary optimization problem by creating a configuration file without any *** framework has integrated a variety of MDO architectures and also provides interface for other developers to add new optimization ***,examples demonstrate the usage of the framework as well as the advantages of the unified framework.

We live in a world increasingly digital where intelligent and communicating objects evolve and interact. These objects have their own missions and goals. However, in a more and more complex environment, mechanisms of communication and information exchange protocols need to be more efficient, fast and smart. The collaborative approach seems to be the most suitable to facilitate interaction between intelligent entities while preserving their resources by sharing relevant information that will enable them to reach more quickly their goals. For example, collaborative behaviours and informations exchanges could improve the movement of vehicles in an urban center and avoid traffic jams and more globally for all kind of autonomous agent. This article highlights what is a collaboration in the context of communicating autonomous entities. Then we present our architecture that is called HACCA (Hybrid Architecture for Collaborative Communicating Agent). We show the different levels implied in HACCA and we put the stress on the multigraph structure we have created to build and share contextual knowledge. The theory is applied to an example on communication between communicating vehicles. © 2016 IEEE.

Scientific and engineering computing requires operation on flooded amount of data having very high number of dimensions. Traditional multidimensional array is widely popular for implementing higher dimensional data but its' performance diminishes with the increase of the number of dimensions. On the other side, traditional row-column view is facile for implementation, imagination and visualization. This paper details a representation scheme for higher dimensional array with row-column abstraction on parallel environment. Odd dimensions contribute along row-direction and even dimensions along column direction which gives lower cost of index computation, higher data locality and parallelism. Each 2-D block of size blockIdx.x × threadIdx.x is independent of each other. Theoretically, it has no limitation with the number of dimensions and mapping algorithm is unique for any number of dimensions. Performance of the proposed matricization is measured with matrix-matrix addition, subtraction and multiplication operation. Experimental results show promising performance improvement over Traditional Multidimensional Array (TMA) and Extended Karnaugh Map Representation (EKMR). Thus the scheme can be used for implementing higher dimensional array in both general purpose and scientific computing on GPU. © 2016 IEEE.
