The research on Human pose estimation remains the most fundamental and challenging problem in computer vision. In this context, computer vision-based automobile safety-assisted driving technology has received comprehensive attention and is widely used in automobile-assisted driving systems. Powered by advanced artificial intelligence, the scale of data to be learned by deep learning networks is increasing, the processing tasks are becoming more and more complex, and the model parameters are also increasing. In the field of distributed parallel computing research has also received extensive attention. In this work, we focus on the challenge of human posture estimation in two dimensions, using both conventional and deep learning techniques, with an emphasis on its study's potential use in traffic-related settings. Recent approaches for estimating human poses are introduced, and a summary of how to extract bone joint points using deep learning techniques is provided. In conclusion, it elaborates on the present state of going beyond the bounds of single-computer computing resources and merging distributed architecture with deep learning to address the challenges and opportunities in human pose estimation. Human posture estimation has several technological applications, including the detection of driving behaviour and the analysis of fitness data. © 2022 IEEE.

High-performance computing (HPC) systems has entered the exascale era, but I/O performance has lagged behind due to storage hardware limitations, creating a "storage wall effect" that hinders HPC systems full potential. Modern HPC storage systems employ a layered storage architecture with local node storage, burst buffers, and global parallel file systems to improve I/O performance. However, application workloads vary, and fast storage layers may not always outperform global parallel file systems, while a static storage software stack configuration may not achieve optimal performance across different applications. Traditional I/O optimization is time-consuming, laborintensive, and prone to human error. To address this issue, this paper proposes AIO, a data-driven I/O optimization method. AIO automatically selects the optimal storage hierarchy and software stack based on the task's I/O patterns, and further enhances performance by identifying and applying the most efficient configuration settings. We evaluated AIO with eight applications in a cluster that features shared burst buffers, local burst buffers, and a global shared file system. The experiments demonstrate that AIO effectively optimizes I/O performance, achieving an overall speedup of 2.74.

The benefits of cyber-physical system advances include low latency and high bandwidth data processing in areas such as automotive, healthcare, and business automation. Traditional environments are often located in centralized and remote locations and cannot meet the demand. Edge computing and cloud computing have become fundamental concepts that will bring computing closer to the center of the data. Edge computing can reduce latency and bandwidth consumption by processing data on or near IoT devices. Fog computing adds another layer to this by distributing work and storage across multiple nodes, thus providing a scalable and flexible infrastructure. This article discusses the principles, benefits, and challenges of integrating edge and cloud computing into a CPS environment. It leverages the power of proximity-based edge computing and the centralized capabilities of cloud computing to provide scalable, instantaneous responses to CPS applications or time to optimize services. The demonstration shows a variety of things from smart cities to the use of IoT in healthcare in CPS. The article also covers some specific security and privacy issues and future directions in distributed computing, including the role of AI and 5G, which are supposed to offer additional resources in various applications.

This paper investigates high-performance implementations of Falcon scheme, which is one of the four post-quantum cryptography algorithms standardized by NIST. We explore high-throughput implementation solutions by improving how critical components of Falcon execute on the GPU, with a focus on low latency requirements. Our research reveals that some components of Falcon cannot fully exploit the parallelism of the GPU. Consequently, we propose a heterogeneous parallel implementation of the Falcon signature scheme that utilizes the parallelism of both CPUs and GPUs, while mitigating the additional overhead introduced by heterogeneous computing. Finally, we conduct evaluations on three typical testbeds. The experimental results show that our improved GPU implementation is 222 percent faster for signing and 13.9 percent faster for verification in cloud scenarios compared to the state-of-the-art GPU implementations. On an embedded GPU platform (Jetson AGX Orin), our heterogeneous parallel implementation outperforms the CPU multi-threaded implementation by 46 percent and the GPU implementation by 297 percent.

Collaborative secure image matching is a problem that is applicable in various domains, for both - data in rest and data in motion. The problem is defined as follows. There is a secret image, and a set of n mobile agents. The set of mobile agents should match (compare) an observed image to the original secret image. In this paper we discuss some of the existing approaches, and present an alternative solution applied and analyzed for different applications. The first application is a swarm of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) that search for a target specified by an image. The second application is a social network that serves as a smart storage device capable of performing distributed, secret image matching operations. Our solution is based on the well-known Visual Encryption Scheme (VES) and projections of visual bit maps rather than (quadratic complexity) messages exchange in implementing Secure Multi Party Computation (MPC) scheme. We present a perfect-information-theoretic secure solution for this problem. To keep the original image secrecy, at least k out of n mobile agents are required to retrieve any information about the original image. © 2022 IEEE.

Mean shift algorithm (MSA) is a powerful object tracking technique due to its simplicity and robustness. However, it causes easily the inaccurate tracking when the scene is complex, for example, the object is seriously occluded, the color of the object is similar to that of the background, the background is dynamic, and the camera shakes or moves. Aiming at the above problems, a novel object tracking algorithm based on MSA and SURF (Speeded Up Robust Features) is proposed. Firstly, the object area in the current frame is determined by MSA, and secondly, SURF algorithm is used to match the feature points in the object area of initial frame with those in the object area of current frame, and finally, the coordinates of the center point in the object area of current frame are adjusted according to the matching results. The experimental results on three videos in complex scenes show that the proposed algorithm can track the object more accurately than MSA, and realize the real-time and accurate tracking of video objects in complex scenes.

In order to improve the anti-submarine warfare capability, an anti-submarine UUV swarm system based on distributed operation theory is proposed. This paper describes the basic concept of the distributed operation theory and the anti-submarine operational mode of the UUV swarm, designs the system architecture, basic composition and control structure of the UUV swarm, and finally describes the operational workflow of the UUV swarm in detail. The proposed system integrates artificial intelligence technology, distributed operation concept and swarm tactics, which can effectively promote the diversification of the underwater battlefield awareness and the systematization of anti-submarine warfare so as to improve the naval cooperative anti-submarine warfare effectiveness and undersea control capability.

Blockchain is a decentralised, distributed public ledger that has recently garnered enormous traction. The automotive industry, one of the most profitable markets worldwide, is undoubtedly responsible for the transformations in modern civilisation over the past century. Group sparse coding (GSC) is a powerful mechanism that has achieved great success in many low-level vision tasks, showing great potential in image denoising. Traditional group sparse coding generally uses overcomplete dictionaries and $l_{1}$ -norm to regularize sparse coefficients. But this is only an estimate of the solution, which cannot obtain a sparse solution and has a high computational cost. In this paper, we use a GSC framework with adaptive dictionary learning for image denoising. In order to improve the accuracy of obtaining sparse coefficients, the dictionary used in this paper is learned from the input image, which can be obtained by applying SVD once for each patch group. Then use ADMM algorithm to solve the objective function. Experimental results show that the PSNR value of our approach not only is competitive with many advanced image denoising methods but also achieves better visual effects.

Protein-protein interactions can regulate many biological processes. Studying the mechanisms of protein-protein interactions is critical for understanding the biological functions and regulation mechanisms of proteins. The Barnase- Barstar complex is a well-studied target for computational analyses due to its simplicity and small size. Despite extensive studies, it is unclear whether there are differential responses to thermal stress between the Barnase-Barstar complex and the Barnase alone. In this study, molecular dynamics simulations were used to study intermolecular interactions and structural changes of the Barnase-Barstar complex under thermal stress. We performed molecular dynamics simulations under different temperatures for the complex and for Barnase itself. Our simulations suggest that under thermal stress, Barnase is more stable within the Barnase-Barstar complex than the protein itself, and the higher stability is likely attributed to the binding interactions between the two proteins. These results provide a theoretical foundation and an important guidance to understand mechanisms of biological regulation of protein complexes. © 2021 IEEE.
