Streamlining Apache graph-parallel computing the goal of integrating Spark with GraphX is to make processing massive amounts of graph data easier and faster. The goal is to streamline the process of creating and running graph algorithms by using GraphX, a Spark-based distributed graph processing platform. The eventual objective is to create a scalable platform that is easy to use for graph-structured data analysis and manipulation. Improving GraphX’s performance, expanding its features, and integrating it with Spark’s ecosystem are all part of this process. The expected result is a flexible and strong framework that lets data scientists and developers execute complicated graph analytics tasks with ease. This will pave the way for applications in many fields, including recommendation systems, social network analysis, and biological network analysis. Optimizing performance in graph-parallel computer situations, making the development process easier, and making it more scalable are the main goals. The graph structure visualization results in graph data revealing values in the range of 1.2 to 5.6 for a sample of five distinct vertex/edge types. The degree distribution histogram in the same dataset shows that, for five different frequencies, the numbers range from around 1.5 to 4.5. For the same dataset, the PageRank Convergence Plot shows values ranging from 0.4 to 0.9 for five distinct iterations/scores.

Wireless Rechargeable Sensor Network(WRSN) is a system that uses wireless charging devices to supply energy to sensors in Wireless Sensor Network(WSN). Using mobile wireless charging equipment, the charging efficiency of WSN will be improved. However, how to properly allocate mobile charging devices and plan routes for them has become a problem. In order to reduce the number of dead nodes in WSN, in this paper, we propose a collaborative charging algorithm based on k-mean++ clustering(KCCA). The algorithm uses k-mean++ to cluster WRSN, and uses a large charging vehicle with unlimited energy and multiple small charging vehicles with limited energy to charge the nodes and collect data in each cluster. The shortest charging time is modeled as a linear programming problem, and the charging path in the cluster is obtained by finding the optimal solution. The simulation results show that, compared with other proposed algorithms, KCCA can better reduce the number of dead nodes and the moving distance of wireless charging car. © 2021 IEEE.

The Blockchain is one of the last decade emerging technologies in software architectures. Its nature of a distributed ledger database allowing verifiable and tamper-proof transactions between untrusted parties makes it suitable for a vast class of domains concerning business processes, including Cloud Manufacturing, a new paradigm for the manufacturing industry based on cloud technologies, for which decentralization and security are key factors. However, existing solutions are still weak in terms of collaboration in providing and consuming heterogeneous services in the Cloud, therefore a standard framework is necessary to overcome this limit. In this paper, we suggest an architecture for consuming digital processes in a manufacturing environment, based on Blockchain and Smart Contracts. Our primary contribution is the integration of Blockchain with two other popular technologies: Docker, a highly portable and scalable container-based platform to run applications, and Cloud Storage. In this system, the logic of a single process is defined by the owner in a self-contained Docker image, whose digest is safely stored in the chain, while input and output files can be stored in a traditional cloud storage service. On each new consumer request, the best runner node is selected through the solution of a simple task assignment problem with a deep learning approach.

In today’s world of globalization, with the exponential increase in the use of Internet-based services, there is also an increase in network traffic and a huge risk of hacking and cyber-attacks. One of the cyber-attacks is the distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack which simply sends the requests to the target for the denial of service for the legitimate users. To detect the DDoS attacks from the vast volume of network traffic, there is a need of a deep learning model. Also, there is the requirement for a lightweight model for today’s high-volume traffic and time critical applications. Therefore, in this paper, a deep neural network (DNN) model has been proposed and validated over the CICDDoS 2019 and PVAMUDDoS-2020 datasets with all features and reduced (important) features. The hyperparameters of the DNN model have been tuned and the best model has an input layer, five hidden layers, and an output layer. The proposed DNN model with the same hyperparameters values performed well over the CICDDoS 2019 and PVAMUDDoS-2020 datasets with all features and reduced features. The results are comparable in both cases and the evaluation with reduced features shows less training and testing time which would be helpful in the time-critical applications and the large volume of network traffic. © 2023, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

MPT (Merkle Patricia Tree) is the core storage structure of blockchains as the integrity of the account state data can be verified by the MPT structure, which is the sum of the state information generated by the blockchain system based on the account model after the execution of a transaction. As the number of transactions increases, the amount of blockchain state data grows exponentially, which poses a huge challenge for efficient access to blockchain state data. In this paper, a new world state model is proposed to address this problem. Firstly, the organization mode of a full node and the total state is improved. A state tree is constructed for some states in blocks, and the organization mode and insertion mode of state construction are redefined. Then, the state storage mode is improved, which simplifies the state storage model and changes the full storage of tree nodes in the world state, and its state update and maintenance are introduced. Experiments show that the proposed model significantly reduces memory consumption and improves retrieval efficiency. When the number of transactions in a block is 1200, the query efficiency of our proposed model is three times of MPT. In terms of memory consumption, the memory consumption of our model is only 5% of MPT. © 2021 IEEE.

With the massive adoption of mobile devices, it became more mandatory for developers to provide high-quality applications. Nowadays, mobile devices are used for different purposes: entertainment, shopping, banking, and communication. Moreover, mobile devices can communicate and exchange information with various IoT devices distributed across the city. However, mobile application testing has different challenges when compared to other types of applications (i.e., desktop and client-server applications). First, we must consider mobile devices' different characteristics and limitations, such as connectivity, screen size, density, sensors, and limited battery. Second, there is a wide range of mobile devices from diverse vendors and models. Hence, there is a need to consider different device configurations to reduce compatibility issues that may occur in a high-fragmented ecosystem. In this case, several tools and services with various features and business models aim to run tests on multiple devices. In this practical experience report, we present the initial results of implementing a testing tool/service at Von Braun Labs to support the execution of tests across multiple Android devices. The stakeholders stated the need to (i) execute the tests on physical devices; and (ii) the tool/service must support tests that interact with a specialized IoT device. We start the study by comparing different tools/services to select the most suitable one for Von Braun Labs. We propose a comparison framework to help evaluate six tools/services based on their technical, usability, and customization features. Then, we present a case study with an app from Von Braun Labs to validate the selected testing environment. Finally, we discuss the lessons learned, contributions, and future directions, pinpointing the need for a testing process since the beginning of the development project and the importance of lessening the gap between academia and industry.

We consider the problem of tracking vehicles in a distributed setting, which is important for, e.g., autonomous driving and collision avoidance systems. These applications rely on receiving timely updates and require aggregating sensor data from many sources to improve accuracy. We consider a cloud-assisted scheme that utilizes replication to alleviate the straggler problem, i.e., the problem of random delays in distributed systems. We derive the age-of-information (AoI) of estimate updates and show that replication significantly improves the AoI. Furthermore, we derive the probability that the error of the position estimate exceeds some threshold for a given AoI. © 2021 URSI.

In the current situation, graphical illustrations are used in Digital clothing fashion. These clothing design specifications are built using computer technologies. In the internet world, the major challenges in fashion technology are forged products and untimely product delivery. Counterfeiting has always been a severe problem in the luxury goods business. To solve this issue, the proposed system authenticates the smart contract document for digital clothing design specifications based on the blockchain and QR code. Smart contracts are a set of simple self-executing codes or programs. It can run automatically when the predetermined conditions are met. It enables secure transactions and agreements to be completed without the need for centralised authority. Blockchain is a distributed, immutable ledger that makes it easier to record transactions and manage assets in a business network. QR codes are square-shaped matrices of dark or light pixels that are used to encode and retrieve data from computing devices more quickly. QR codes are used in a wide range of applications, from supply chain management to crypto wallet addresses. The proposed system has the following steps. Select the digital garment design specification file from the smart contract approved list. Verification authority checks whether the file has been approved file or not with the recorded blockchain data. After the verification process, a secure QR code is generated with the secret message. The generated QR code is included in the design specification file. This encoded file is uploaded to the IPFS (Interplanetary File System). This QR code symbol and a design specification file's IPFS hash code are sent to the stitching section. This QR code is used to determine if the file has been tampered with or forged. The QR code is decoded by using the secret message and it displays the decoded product information. Finally, the downloaded data has been validated using the blockchain. This QR code encoding and
