In our report some features of computing aided algorithms for reconstruction of three-dimensional images of penetrable dielectric (phase) objects are considered by the example of human blood cells visualization. The initial data has been obtained with the help of interference holographic microscope and a digital camera. Also, we develop a specialized computer code which made processing of the received matrix and calculates physical and geometrical characteristics of the object under investigation (volume, the surface area, sphericity factor, etc.). On the next stage the three-dimensional virtual image of investigated object is displayed to the computer screen with simultaneous displaying of some additional information. An obtained result seems to be actual for development of modern biomedicine, in particular for early stages diagnostics of some diseases, and can be of interest for other areas of science and technique.

This paper describes a high-density 3-d microsystem-in-package technology and its application for an integrated CCd micro-camera visual inspection system. The CCd imaging data transmission circuit, incorporated as a 3-d packaging module in the CCd micro-camera visual inspection system, has been realized by applying high-density interconnection stacked unit modules. The CCd viewpoint changing mechanism, which enables the inspection of inner surface of tube, was realized by 2 axial electrostatic wobble motors for rotation around the light axis of the CCd micro-camera and a catadioptric lens for internal focusing mechanism. The fabricated integrated CCd micro-camera visual inspection system captures good CCd images and operates satisfactorily as a wireless micromachine for visual inspection. The technology was confirmed to be effective for incorporating many kinds of electrical devices of different sizes, the complicated electromechanical system devices, and the optical components at far higher packaging density than it is possible to attain using conventional technology.

Free-viewpoint video is a promising technology for next-generation virtual and augmented reality applications. Our goal is to enhance collaborative VR applications with 3d video-conferencing features. In this paper, we propose a 3d video streaming technique which can be deployed in telepresence environments. The streaming characteristics of real-time 3d video sequences are investigated under various system and networking conditions. We introduce several encoding techniques and analyze their behavior with respect to resolution, bandwidth and inter-frame jitter. Our 3d video pipeline uses point samples as basic primitives and is fully integrated with a communication framework handling acknowledgment information for reliable network transmissions and application control data. The 3d video reconstruction process dynamically adapts to processing and networking bottlenecks. Our results show that a reliable transmission of our pixel-based differential prediction encoding leads to the best performance in terms of bandwidth, but is also quite sensitive to packet losses. A redundantly encoded stream achieves better results in presence of burst losses and seamlessly adapts to varying network throughput.

This paper presents the design of a CMOS low noise amplifier (LNA) suited for UMTS wireless standard. This standard of third wireless generation aims to focus on the already existing process in order to develop and improve actual service systems capacitance, like cordless and satellite systems. This objective can be obtained by improving system gain, increasing transmission data rate, etc. The designed amplifier uses differential structure, to ensure linearity and low noise figure. The noise model in this circuit is well mastered, however non linearity phenomenon is still very hard to encounter. For this reason, heuristics methods couldn't be applied to make transistors and passive element's sizing. In order to obtain a trade between linearity and noise figure, we propose here to use an optimization method based on experience plans. We designed an LNA with AMS 0.35/spl mu/m CMOS process. It provides a 19 dB gain at 2.14 GHz timing frequency and 2.4 dB noise figure (NF). The power consumption is 90 mW at 2.5 V power supply voltage. Simulation results are compared with the theoretical prediction and have shown the efficiency of our design methodology.

Today, the design of IC, subsystems and systems dealing with electromagnetic problems (EMC) is often based on insufficient data and on assumptions of design constraints. The term EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) includes, as generally might be known, all actions intended to eliminate electromagnetic interference in electronic systems. Growing complexity, denser design and higher clock rates all lead to a substantial increase in EMC problems and design time. EMC is not commonly accepted in microelectronic design. Microelectronic designers are the opinion that EMC has to do with electrical and electronic systems and mandatory product regulations instead of requirements to the integrated circuit they are designing. Therefore, design under EMC-constraints is a big challenge and requires highly skilled engineers. The high processing speeds and integration densities lead to effects like reflections, crosstalk on transmission lines, delta-I-noise (ground bounce, simultaneous switching, current spike) as well as to electromagnetic radiation and irradiation, which have to be considered when applying microelectronic components. due to the package complexity of systems and components not all EMC-effects can be observed during the development process by measurement. Furthermore, measurement techniques for EMC analysis are greatly limited by engineering and financial constraints. visualization of 3d images is becoming more commonplace for a variety of applications including online games and e-commerce. For efficient online visualization of 3d objects it is necessary to quickly adapt 3d models (including the wireframe and texture) to the available computational or network resources. In this paper we propose enhancements to 3d model simplification based on interactive Level-Of-detail (LOd) update with foveation. Our technique differs from the others in that simplification is based on both surface curvature surface and the region of interest. data structures to implement model simplification are also described. Experimental results comparing the simplified models and the computational time demonstrate the feasibility of our approach.

The standard way of remotely visualizing 3d models is by first downloading them to the user's computer and then rendering them. This approach is plagued by many problems which can be overcome by moving the rendering at server's side and by essentially turning interactive visualization into the transmission of user's prompted images. How to effectively compress the rendered views which need to be transmitted to the client is a fundamental issue within this remote visualization scenario. This work presents a predictive compression scheme for remote visualization based on image based rendering. Its experimental performance is discussed with respect to the use of JPEG and JPEG2000 within it.

An Autostereoscopic 3d viewing system that operates on the principles of Integral Photography-IP provides a unique sense of depth, full parallax and multi-view functionality. The inherent redundancy of these images results into great amounts of data that should be efficiently coded for transmission or storage operations. In this communication a method for efficient coding of such images is presented, targeting to 3d imaging but video applications. The method is based on common techniques broadly used in image compression and properly adjusted in order to take advantage of the spatial redundancies of IP images. The generality and flexibility of the proposed approach along with the stability for a wide range of bit rates constitutes the basic characteristics of the technique. The proposed technique can be easily realized in software or hardware for computer based or standalone applications.

A new approach for three-dimensional reconstruction of industrial parts with non-metric image sequences and hybrid point-line photogrammetry is proposed. Non-metric image sequence and CAd-designed data are used as source of information. The strategy of our approach is to reconstruct the parts automatically with points and line segments extracted from imagery. Hybrid point-line photogrammetry is used to reconstruct sheetmetal parts accurately, and the reconstructed model can be used for visualization and inspection. The reconstruction system can run automatically and fastly, and the output of hybrid point-line photogrammetry is the final 3d geometric model of the part. Results of real images of several parts are very satisfying, which shows a promising potential in automatic 3d reconstruction of widely existed industrial parts mainly composed of points and lines.
