The present work demonstrates the mechanisms, programming design choices and paradigms of developing an Android-hacked online turn-based social game application. Each step of the programming process is detailed, and the underlying implemented concepts and reasonings for the different modules are explained using the Model View Controller architectural pattern. Software engineering design choices are compared and exemplified at each stage of the development phases, giving suggestions for improving the logic behind such a distributed service. This paper also shortly presents insights on the usage of an online cloud database (Firebase, from Google) in order to handle player data in real-time using JSON format.

object detection in images has a wide range of applications in various fields. However, many of the convolutional neural networks recently proposed have higher requirements on computing resources while achieving higher precision, which cannot guarantee good real-time performance on embedded platforms with limited resources. This paper proposed an object detection network suitable for embedded systems. The M-YOLO (Mobile-YOLO) model proposed in this paper combines depthwise separable convolution and residual blocks in feature extraction layers, which helps to reduce the amount of computation of the network. Multi-scale feature fusion is applied to the output layers to improve the accuracy. Experiments show that the M-YOLO model has 9.68M FLOPs (Floating Point Operations), which is about 22% of Tiny-YOLO model. The accuracy of the network reaches 56.61% on the PASCAL VOC dataset, and the speed in ARM is over 3 times faster than Tiny-YOLO model. The network is more suitable for embedded systems.

Loop closure detection plays a vital role in the visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) system. Traditional Bag-of-Visual-Word (BoVW) methods for loop closure detection has been successfully applied to various SLAM systems. The Convolutional Neural Networks (ConvNets) based methods can automatically learn feature representation from original image, and it is more robust to illumination changes. However, these two methods all have some limitations. In order to overcome the shortcomings of the traditional methods extract insufficient features, and the ConvNets based methods unable to adapt complex environment changes, in this paper, we propose an improved hybrid deep learning architecture (HDLA) to generate high-level semantic image features for loop closure detection specifically. This network is based on hybrid ConvNet modified by us to especially cope with robust and real-time feature extraction. We present extensive experiments on three real world datasets to evaluate each of the specific challenges in loop closure detection. The results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves superior performances and provides a feasible solution for loop closure detection.

The paper deals with the problem creation of a simulation system. The problem is that existing systems, such as Starlogo Nova, Swarm, Mason, TeamBots, Ascape, Stage, V-REP, do not allow in the complex to simulate the physical properties of the object, implement elements of robots, maintain communication between agents, maintain a large number of agents, support the use of clusters and use social-oriented libraries. This ultimately significantly reduces the computational speed. To overcome these difficulties, the structure of a new system of simulation is proposed. At the center of the new system is a calculation module with the possibilities of parallelizing the computational process within a single computer. The module supports distributed computing, if the system is used in a computer network. A variant of the structural scheme of the modeling system is also offered, which includes a calculation module, consisting of a parallel programming support module, a distributed computing support module, an agent module and a simulation environment module. In addition, the proposed structural scheme includes a visualizer, combining the controller/management console and the graphic user interface. The functioning of the system depends on the choice of the basic algorithms that ensure the operation of the simulation system. Offered structure of the system of imitation simulation will allow raising the speed of calculations. Modular system makes it possible to change the configuration of the system with the replacement of some functioning algorithms to others. At the same time, the effective operation of the simulation system, according to the proposed scheme, is not possible without the development of individual software, using high-level programming languages such as C ++ or Java. © 2018, Danube Adria Association for Automation and Manufacturing, DAAAM. The large software applications of today provide abstractions of the real-life systems that they support. A digital model of the system, and of the changes that occur within, are being maintained and updated, as triggered by real-life events. Morphologically, such applications contain several distinct architectural entities: databases holding the state, central components describing how the system reacts to external events and mechanisms through which the user can view the current state and issue new commands. Each of these entities may use distinct paradigms and employ different technologies. A production-ready software application ends up assembling a relatively high technology stack and provides the final abstractions for both the problem and its solution. In this paper we propose a short-circuit for the long chain of technologies that are usually employed in large, production-ready software applications. The resulting architecture is a distributed, message-based system which behaves as a hybrid between a database and a runtime environment. The system operates with persistent and live entities, encapsulating both state and operations and therefore easily assimilated with OOP classes.
