The environment of room temperature is complicated and it is difficult to get precise mathematics model for the control of air-condition with frequency change. It is difficult using conventional PED or general fuzzy control way to control air-condition to get good control performance. A new fuzzy controller is designed to control air-condition based on fuzzy reasoning system and genetic algorithm in this paper. Control parameters can be optimized via genetic algorithm quickly in control. In order to improve training speed and overcome the shortcoming of local optimization way, the designed genetic algorithm is improved based on the control system. Simulating experiment shows that the designed controller has better controlling effect than other conventional PH) or fuzzy controller and GAs can optimize fuzzy reasoning parameters effectively.

Facial feature extraction attracts much research interest due to its importance value in applications including human-computer interaction and visual surveillance. Model-based algorithms such as active shape models and active appearance models are efficient for facial feature extraction in color images. However, the complexity of the images and the local nature of active shape models optimization presents a challenge to the localization problem . We propose a new bottom-up method in model fitting stage of ASM, which decompose the whole face model search into several sub-feature *** enables the models to be combined with other feature location methods as to get good initialization and lead to more accurate estimates. We demonstrate the experiment results of successfully applying this schema on facial feature extraction.

In order to solve the traffic counting location (TCL) problem, ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm was introduced, and also some rudimentary numerical results for the TCL set covering model for a simple network were given out. Considering the two goals (maximal coverage and minimal resource utilization) of TCL problem are generally conflicting, this paper tries to incorporate some methods. Two intensification mechanisms are introduced when applying ACO into a similar location model with the same network location data. Then by comparing the optimal results and optimal percentage get, a clearly understanding about applying ACO algorithm into multi- objective location problems is achieved. Through a Pareto ranking selection strategy-Pareto-ranking, we can get the evolution of non-dominated solutions for the Sioux Falls network with 24 nodes, 76 links, and 182 O-D pairs. Also the performance of these non-dominated solutions can be further investigated using the flow capturing analysis method.

According to the problems of the nonlinearity and non norm on dam displacement prediction, the dam displacement mode based on improved ant colony algorithm neural networks was proposed. The binary ant colony algorithm has been brought into the optimization of weights in neural networks. So that the shortcomings of the ant algorithm using in the combinatorial optimization in continuous field have been overcome, while the embarrassment of BP algorithm being vulnerable into the local optimum have been avoided. Therefore, this improved ant colony algorithm neural networks can have both rapid global convergence ability of binary ant colony algorithms and extensive mapping ability of neural networks. The dam displacement model based on the new ant colony algorithm-neural networks is built by mixed programming, and it has been used for project application. The analysis result shows that this mode is feasible in nonlinear fitting with a high accuracy, and so provides a new method for dam displacement prediction.

The selection for hyper-parameters is difficult and important to the performance of least squares support vector machines (LS-SVM). The existed parameters selection algorithms, such as the analytical, algebraic techniques and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, have their own shortcomings. In this paper, the problem of model selection for LS-SVM is discussed and a new method selecting the LS-SVM hyper-parameters is proposed based on the principles of the quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization (QPSO). The feasibility of this method is evaluated on data sets produced by sine function. Experimental results show that LS-SVM of QPSO-based hyper- parameters selection obtains better generalization capability and has more fast convergence speed than PSO-based hyper-parameters selection. Furthermore, the proposed method was applied to establish a soft- sensor model for content of Bisphenol A (CBPA) in rearrangement productive process. The results of real data simulation also show that this method is effective.

Considering the limitation such as premature convergence and low global convergence speed of standard genetic algorithm, human reproduction mode is used for reference and an improved genetic algorithm named adaptive genetic algorithm simulating human reproduction mode (HRAGA) is proposed in this paper. The genetic operators of this algorithm include selection operator, help operator, adaptive crossover operator and adaptive mutation operator. The genetic individuals are separated into male individuals and female individuals, the age feature and consanguinity feature are fused into individuals. Two individuals with opposite sex can reproduce the next generation if they are distant consanguinity individuals and their age is allowable. The crossover operator and mutation operator are adjusted nonlinearly and adaptively. Experiments were taken on multi-peak function optimization. The validity and excellent performance of this algorithm was proved by the experimental results. Its global convergence speed and optimal solutions are all better than those of simple genetic algorithm.

This paper presents a stereo matching algorithm which combines the genetic algorithm with the disparity propagation scheme to generate the dense disparity map. We design the detailed steps of genetic algorithm to realize the main stereo matching process. In order to increase the efficiency of this algorithm and improve the quality of the disparity map, we only perform it on the lower resolution image after the pyramid division of the original image. Then the uniformity distribution model performs as the disparity propagation stratagem to generate the final disparity map. We tested the proposed algorithm on the stereo images, and the quality of the disparity map demonstrates the effectiveness of it.

The special theme of FSMNLP 2008 was high performance finite-state devices in large-scale natural language text processing systems and applications. The papers in this publication cover a range of interesting NLP applications, including machine learning and translation, logic, computational phonology, morphology and semantics, data mining, information extraction and disambiguation, as well as programming, optimization and compression of finite-state networks. The applied methods include weighted algorithms, kernels and tree automata. In addition, relevant aspects of software engineering, standardization and European funding programmes are discussed.

The FIND algorithm is a fast algorithm designed to calculate entries of the inverse of a sparse matrix. Such calculation is critical in many applications, e.g., quantum transport in nano-devices. For a 2D device discretized as N × N mesh, the best known algorithms have a running time of O(N 4 ), whereas FIND only requires O(N 3 ), although with a larger constant factor. By exploiting the extra sparsity and symmetry, the size of the problem where FIND becomes faster than others may decrease from a 130 × 130 mesh down to a 40 × 40 mesh. This improvement will make the optimized FIND algorithm appealing to small problems as well, thus becoming competitive for most real applications.

Facing the intense competition, rising costs and ever changing consumer demands, many manufacturers switch to mass customization from mass manufacturing. The mass customization assembly line balancing problem arises to smooth the production and decrease the cost. However, the development towards mass customization has caused considerable increases in complexity within assembly line production processes. This paper presents a novel ant algorithm for the Type I mass customization assembly line balancing. The proposed algorithm made use of the trail information which is deposited between the task and the task selected position, and pheromone summation rules was adopted. According to the characteristics of the problem, a new nonlinear objective function is used to instead of the function of number of workstations. The results of the computational study show that the proposed approach performs quite effectively.
